Awoken At Night

I am a 21 year old female. I used to experience hauntings (screaming in ear, wind in ear, objects falling, noises, saw shadows) in my old house in Chesterfield, MO, since I was around the age of 15. Things would whisper or blow wind in my ear, downstairs the cabinets would open, my mother and I would see shadows and things move about the night. I would also have very vivid nightmares and wake up in a sleep paralysis in this home. I moved from there about a year and half ago down the street to an apartment. I haven't had anything happen in that time, but recently I went on vacation with a few people, one of whom I slept in the same bed with 4 nights in a row. We were in the hotel room when I was startled in my sleep by something staring at me on the floor next to my bed. The person I was sleeping next to said I was screaming help me and shaking, he had to forcefully shake me awake, which is unusual because I am a very light sleeper. After I awoke I saw shadows in the corner of the room. We turned on the TV and went back to sleep. This occurred at 3:45 am. The next night nothing happened. At the end of our long trip we got home and stayed at my apartment. I woke up at 3:30am to something screaming in my ear to "get up now". It was a horrible voice, something high pitched and low at the same time, growling/whispering that got increasingly louder. I jumped so hard that I awoke the person next to me again. Now this person said that he has previously had things happen to him like this... I'm not sure if it's me or him causing this. What should I do?

A little off topic do you think ghost are human spirits or demons in disguise? I know demons can impersonate human spirits. I do not think all demons disguise as ghost.

I don't think that is the case here if two people are having the same encounters but it might be worth looking into.

I have an idea or two but I want a little more info to work with before say anything off the wall per say. When the spirit in your apartment woke you up from your sleep did he/she stay there an do any thing else or leave? Also does it feel like a menacing entity or just a troubled spirit? Has it felt that way to the other person who was with you at that time? Is the spirit potentially attached to the other person by any chance? This will help determine what I suggest in regards to the situation. While the vacation ghost does potentially offer a clue it might also be unrelated to the apartment ghost.
