Was I Sleeping Or Did I Encounter A Spirit?

About a year ago when I first moved to Arizona, it was my first night in my new apartment and I woke up in the morning with what felt like a cat jumping on my bed and walking up my body to my chest. I woke up with a start to realize that nothing was there, but the experience was so frightening that I still can feel it and remember it, which leads me to what happened to me this morning.

I was in San Francisco for the weekend and woke up this morning sleeping face down on my hotel bed. I felt that same feeling, like a cat had jumped up on the bed and was walking up towards me. But this time it stopped between my thighs and then I felt as though some sort of energy/vibration entered my body through my feet and was moving its way through my entire body up to my head, where I started hearing this extremely loud buzzing noise. I was awake yet I could not move, and it was getting stronger and stronger throughout my body and the noise in my head kept getting louder and louder.

It felt like my head was going to explode, and although I felt paralyzed, I forced myself with every ounce of energy I had to move and turn over, and in a brief second I saw the back of a woman's head, her hair in a bun, walking away from me. Not the whole body, but just an image of the back of her head. She had blonde hair like me, in fact, it could have been me, I have no idea.

I turned over in bed, there was nobody there of course, and everything stopped instantly. All day I have been puzzled by this and am trying to make some sort of sense to it, and came upon this website while searching for answers. From what I've read so far, it sounds like a spirit may have been trying to communicate with me?

The experience was neither pleasant nor harrowing. It bordered on feeling negative but didn't scare me too much. The whole thing lasted probably about 10 seconds or so, same as the first experience I had a year ago.

I believe I may be somewhat sensitive to energies but not much more so than the average person, and I'm just wondering if anyone can help me shed some light on this. I find it curious that these experiences happened in two cities so far apart... Could it be the same spirits following me, or two separate ones, or was I just dreaming?

Thank you for any information you may have.

Peace

My mother was young, when she was lying on her back in bed- in greece, at 4pm. Between sleep and wake, she felt a heavy thing on her feet, which started to move up to her thighs, then stomach then chest... She couldn't breath or move. (old hag?). Then she started praying in her mind: "Our Father, who art in heaven...", and immediately she saw a big cat materialise on her chest, which jumped- more like flew- out of the window, which I might add was CLOSED, and HAD METAL BARS ACROSS IT, like a prison cell window... Then she could breathe again! Personally I believe it was a demon... Why would it flee when she started praying?!? And personally, I experienced a simular attack from old satan. I was lying in bed on my side, on an afternoon, (yes, we greeks enjoy our afternoon siesta, granny nap or power nap, whatever you call it.) I was also between sleep and wake, and I got a flashback, that I was in a church, that I had been to. Then, a voice in my head announced: "The demonic presence!"... Then I felt something like an octopus, stuck onto my upper back, sucking the life out of me, all my strength was gone... I couldn't move. My breathing was like that of a man on his death bed, like snoring, I couldn't breathe or move! After about 30 seconds, I whispered: " In the name of Jesus Christ, go away!" and it left! I thank God, who announced this attack to me, and for getting rid of this dirty demon! How can I repay Him for all the miracles (email me) and protection I got from Him! We were on holiday in France where we own a 17th century house in Brittany. The house feels "friendly" but every time we go there, something strange happens. So in June 2012 when we were there, I had the strange feeling of a cat jumping on the bed. It actually woke me up but I lay very still with my eyes closed, wondering if I had imagined it, since we don't have a cat living in that house. I felt the mattress move as it came alongside me, moving towards my head. Then a second one (whatever it was) jumped on the bed and also started making its way towards my head on the other side. The first one now stopped right next to my face; I was lying on my right side. I felt the second one approaching but it stopped near my shoulder. I knew that if I opened my eyes, I would be looking right into the creatures face. But the trouble was, try as I might, I couldn't open my eyes. I could feel my eyelids fluttering trying to open. Then I tried to move my arms but I couldn't. Felt as if something was pinning them to the bed. I also had the sensation of something pushing me into the mattress. I tried to call my husband, but only a croak came out. Couldn't even speak. Tried again - no use. And then suddenly I was free. Such a feeling of relief to feel "life" coming back into my body and I could move. My eyes flew open but there was nothing there. Sat up very slowly. There were two dents in the duvet where I felt the first "thing" moving up the bed, exactly as if a smallish animal had been there. Looked at my watch. It was 7.30am. So weird and can't help wondering WTF? Funny how none of the strange things that have happened there, have ever happened to me anywhere else. I wonder?

About 4 days a go, I was about to wakeup and same thing, I felt that a cat or dog jumped on the bed and took few steps besides me. I looked around, tought really? Did my roommates dog jumped in my bed (the dog is very small and can't jump on my bed, and isn't in my room anyway). It felt very strange, but at that time I just put it as a misfeeling or something. (excuse me my english)

But last morning... Well let's start from the night before... I went to sleep and I saw dark woman infront of me, like from african tribe or something. My eyes where closed but I saw her, and she was infront of my eyes and she was looking at me. She was smiling. At the moment I tought... What?... I tryd to think of something else or turn my head away, but she was still there and looking at me. Opened my eyes, nope nothing there, closed my eyes and there she was again. I tought omg I'm going crazy, scizophrenia perhaps (but no, I'm not seeing her like that, its more like a dream) and then I just tought nothing can happen to me, and I'm not crazy eiter, so I just looked at her, her eyes and she was still smiling.

Next day I tought maybe she was checking if she scares me, seemed like she didn't want to scare me.
Anyway, I don't know if their related. But these ideas came to me the next day when I was looking from internet if someone has felt the same thing as I felt in the morning, after the strange women...

That morning was same thing. I felt that a cat jumped in bed and was walking besides me, I can feel the mattress moving as it should. I woke up for a second and didn't pay much attention, probably tryd to sleep again but suddenly it happened again, and this time it was closer. I felt it came beside me towards my head and then it shaked itself or something near my face and I felt the fur shakeing against my face. I opened my eyes and not a living thing in my room.

I doubt or atleast don't like the idead that were dealing with astral projection here.
I mean I have had ODB (if this is what astral projection is) and it wasn't like that.
It was easy just hanging above my self...

Anyways heres my story and all welcome to share opinions, specially who has felt the same...

I had the same experience almost verbatim in July. I was sleeping in a guest room (purportedly active with ghosts). Suddenly I felt something like a cat or dog jump on the bed. Then I felt it enter my body. For a brief few seconds I felt a totally overpowering buzzing energy and exhilarating sensation comparable to a hallucinogenic drug. Then it jumped out, up and away from me like a playfull puppy. I know this was real and not imagined or dreamed. The sensation was too overpowering to have not been real. I now attribute it to a pet dog of ours, Sherlock, that had recently and sadly put to sleep in my absence. I truly believe he was saying goodbye to me and wanted me to know this life is temporal and a new one awaits.

It seems to be a popular trend to invite these things in because of the rush of experiencing something new, but I assure you that there is a heavy price tag involved.

Yes you encountered something real. Yes, it may have manifested itself into an image of something that would appeal to you... Something familiar. But think about the experience - was it comfortable? Did you come out of it for the better, or are you more confused now? What residual feelings do you have? Ask yourself these important questions, and be truthful with yourself.

These things are not bound to any geographic location for the most part. They move around. And if your light shines brighter than most, they will be more attracted to you than others who do not see their own potential. Your body is for you, and no one - or nothing- else. Do NOT give this entity dominion of what is yours. Learn, but use wisdom!

I've encountered issues like that. Not to be feared, so good job on that part. Next time try to relax, see what happens.

Though you saw 'a person' briefly walking away from you, which on the surface might indicate a spirit, all the other symptoms are tell-tale signs of an etheric experience, pre astral projection.

The buzzing, inability to move, and the roar in the head is all conscious signs of the pre separation stages. Most people sleep through this but if we are light sleepers, then we can catch this stage frequently, and with practice, take it to the next level. You can read all about this on my webpage at www.astralvoyage.com.

Sure, it's occurring in multiple cities but really, it's just you, no matter where you go.

Good for you for not being frightened. The only way to really take it to the next level is to manage fear which is the number one obstacle to our success.

If you're interested, the next time this happens, don't squirm or try and stop it. Deaden all activity and try to deepen the vibrations. The feeling I liken it to is a very large earthquake. When you do this, you'll start to feel your astral limbs raise up. Don't think it's your physical (this gets them every time), just use your arms to pull the rest of you out. The head is the last to go due to the energy field surrounding it (so many primary chakras). Then, move 10+ feet away from your body and you're then free!

Good luck and best to you.
Anne
