Spirit Guide Or Spirit Helper?

Sounds as if misto is more of a guide. I can't honestly say for I'm still not sure what mine friend is, or what his name is, but I have a feeling that's where the name Banist came from. I do know that the form he took when he first contacted me through meditation was a real person who I later saw for the first time on the history channel, but for the most part he has always been more of a voice helping me know what to say and what to do.

The best advice I can give. Which I don't know why yourself or your friends didn't think of it first. But why not ask Misto himself. HE should know if he's your spirit guide or a helper. Some of the time they know.
A helper will tend to say that they would like to be your "friend"
A spirit guide will likely say you are their "charge", that their there to watch over you. Or had been sent or something along the lines.
A helper would just assist in askance.
But a spirit guide is more like a mentor or protector to that individual. Unless Misto would be a regular Watcher who guides human spirits that wish to evolve.
I hope that helped any. But I really think you should ask Misto himself.

im new here! Hello to everyone. I have always felt like I'm missing something in this life? Like my path is off? And I have these weird dreams like I'm actually in the dream but invisible and if I try waking up I can't it feels like I have a ton of bricks on my chest, what's that about?
And I also feel like I m supposed to find my guide but I have been trying with no luck to contact one any thoughts?Thanks

I found out that I have this gift about few months ago, I can see spirits through my 3rd eye but I don't know what they want. I tried to meditate, I saw someone's eye looking back to me then afterwards I was so headache and weak, I would like to know why I was feeling so bad after the meditation?
Please Help! Thanks.

Guides:

I did not realize that when I was 7-8 and had seen a circle of Angels in my yard and had been led over to them by one other Angel that they were all my Guides. Now I understand. I have since learned their names, characteristics, and which way they prefer to communicate with me. I have learned that one likes to use the tarot cards and the radio and movies. They always tell me that I do not need any tools for my psychic and medium gift and that the power is within me, but it certainly helps using tarot and scrabble when trying to communicate with my Guides.

To confirm that you have Guides (and that they are who they say they are) ask them for signs then be on the lookout for those signs. I asked for specific detailed signs which are not easily found anywhere and they shocked me everytime by sending me those exact signs, so make your requests a bit challenging (but not impossible) and they will comply. Do not be scared. Think of your Guides as friends, Angels, etc. Your job is to develop and use your gift and their job is to show you how. Just make certain you only use it for good purposes. Also make certain they are Guides, not bad entities, by only thinking your thoughts to them rather than speaking your requests outloud, and first pray for your top level Guides to come guide you, and verbally outloud banish all bad entities from around you telling them they are not welcome.

How to make first contact with Guides:

-First be relaxed and in a location where you feel most spiritual and protected.
-Next in your mind and outloud ask for all negative energies/entities to leave for they are not welcome. They need to be told this.
-Next pray innerly (not outloud). Ask to be protected from negative, bad, evil, or dark energies/entities/spirits.
-Once you feel at peace and protected, pray innerly to communicate with your Top Level Guides. Only those who guide you, care for you, protect you, and are of the white light.
-You will then hear some inner thoughts, which at first you might feel are only your own, but they will catch you off guard because you will know you yourself did not think that thought. Reply to it. Listen carefully. Ask it questions. Listen for answers.
-Now at this point you will wonder if you are crazy, and are imagining things, or making it up in your own mind. This is when you need to ask to be sent signs as an assurance that they do in fact exist. They do not mind doing this. They understand. Request a sign which is challenging and not so common so you will know for a fact that it is from them, but do not choose a sign that is impossible.
Be aware and watch for the signs.

Keep in mind that Guides do not always come forward until we know they exist, believe in them, and need them. Even then it might be against the rules for them to come forward. Others like to remain hidden and watch over us silently. I met one of my Guides only just this past year and only because I began noticing certain patterns, so I caught on that Guide was with me. I then began communication and that Guide and I and my other Guides had some issues because of this. Now that Guide has stepped back some and all is back to the way it was beforehand other than I can call on that Guide when I wish. Remember that Guides are on another level. They can make mistakes, be not so experienced as other ones, and might bend the rules and get in trouble for it. So be careful when making contact and making demands. They do have to answer to the highest power aka God.

-Prayer
-Meditation
-Asking for and reading signs

Guides or spirits?

It is very important to confirm that they are good entities which you are meant to help and not bad entities trying to attack or manipulate you. They can see you and hear your spoken word but not usually hear your thoughts so the first thing to do is to pray for your guides to protect you and advise you on what to do. As for the entities/spirits you must speak outloud to them to ensure that they hear you and tell them that you only welcome good spirits and ask all negative or bad energies/entities/spirits to leave. This is also important to do when using lettered cards, tarot cards, scrabble, etc to communicate with your top level Guides for advice and guidance. Always confirm you are speaking to them and not to entities/spirits until you are ready to do so.

Curious, a Guide is a person who previously lived on Earth but has now advanced up to the next level of spirituality. They might be a deceased friend, relative, soulmate, or simply someone who is assigned to being your Guide. You could have more than one Guide (as I do) and some are more advanced than others (I have one which is very new at being a Guide and was almost replaced). Their job is to Guide you in this lifetime and help you develop your abilities so your soul can advance. Your abilities are to be used to help others as well as yourself, rather than for selfish means. I must seem really stupid or somethin... But what's a guide? Is it a person, a book? I'm pretty new to this stuff myself, and I only have really weak ESP powers (I think). I'm not really sure. I am sort of clairvoyant, but as I said before, I am really weak.

Frost, if you feel your bad luck is because of your Guide (whether your Guide is at fault, or whether it is not a Guide but a dark entity) then you need a new Guide who you can trust and have faith in.

I've always wanted to talk to my guide, but never knew how, no signs or anything. I've always had bad luck and wondered if my guide had anything to do with it. Maybe you can relate?

I'm new to this whole psychic thing. I've always been diferent but I only recently found my guide, who has been very weak feeling for some reason of late, and discovered that I have precognition, only a little bit though not very strong, and I can see auras. Just explaining my point of view.

Anyway It seems to me that he is more than likely both as Katherine said. That's the most sense I could get of this.
