My name is Chris and I'm 17 years old. I have been having strange experiences since I was about 12 or so. One thing that happens to me quite a bit is Deja Vu. I'll be at school or the golf course or a theme park and I'll get this strange feeling that I have been there and experienced this before. Almost as if I'm reliving a memory. These are usually fleeting experiences that last for 5 seconds or so but they affect me to the point where I have to pause and refocus myself.
Another thing that I have found I'm able to do is detect when someone enters a room or passes close to me without touching me. During the latter I usually feel a strange tingle run down my back, a little like when you get the Goosebumps.
An interesting occurrence that I have observed at school several times is an ability to make certain teachers call on me. I first noticed this when I was 14 when I consciously thought the words, "Call on me." when I was really focusing. Amazingly, she called on me. I was taken aback by this and have since been able to duplicate this on several occasions.
I'm also able to read people really well. What I mean by this is I can tell how people are feeling without really talking to them. I think I got this from my mom and her father before her. He was a Korean War vet who was involved in Military Police. I always felt a very strong connection to him, though I never really spent a great deal of time with him.
I'm a skeptic and I'll be the first to admit it, but these happenings have made me step back and wonder if psychic abilities do indeed exist. If I do have some sort of dormant ability, how would I go about developing it? Is this something that I've built up in my head or is there something here?
