In the last few months I have experienced either lucid dreaming or a portal to another place. Due to being ignorant about such things I don't know what to make of what I have seen.

One such vision was close to a waking moment just after my alarm went off in the morning. There was a "hole" or portal that I could see through. I could not see anything on my side of the portal. It was as if I were standing in front of a blank wall with a way to see to the other side. There was a family inside the portal that was bathing in the river. It was near dusk or dawn. The mother and child that were bathing in the river, leave the water still naked and move toward the stairs of their home. The house is built on stilts. The windows are glowing with lights in the dimness. The mother lifts a blond child onto her hip and starts up the stairs. My feeling at this time is that just beyond my sight is a young boy that is watching the two ascend the stairs. I can't see him, but I know he is there waiting for his mother to call him into the house. The portal closes and I come into reality.

Just this morning my alarm went off and once again a portal is opening behind my eyes or in my head. I see people moving about, but I cannot tell who they are. The portal closes and I try to reopen it with my mind, it shimmers and opens just a bit, again I see movement of people, but it closes and I lose the images. I get up from bed to start my day.

I have no idea what these experiences mean. Is there any one with knowledge of such happenings.

oh so have i,I have seen a portal, but it small like the size of my palm (miss shaped circle, clear in the middle rainbow color all around the edges. I saw this when I was experiencing a sleep paralysis or O.B.E. Inside I just saw through it which the wall of my room nothing else... 😊

In my portal it was blacker than black. - was looking at my leg when my aura emerged, the first time I have ever seen my own (it was yellow) I was meditating on the colors I see on the blank wall... Then I let myself go a bit further. The portal swallowed me in about a second. I felt a pull or a tug towards it. What I saw was like a photograph negative. My foot and background were black. My aura was luminous. And there was this blue light that made a shape. Like a balloon animal is as good as I can describe. I could still hear the water of the shower. I was able to back out of it. But I didn't go in at all just entered this place for a second. I knew I was not ready to go in. The same black and purple static I see is the fabric of spacetime, and its the door.

I opened a portal for the first time last night. I was lightly meditaing in the shower. I accepted my gift 3 days ago. Evidently this is where I have to go, but I have to learn more before I can show no fear. I don't like the way it looks to type it out but I have to say it. It was too too easy for me to open one. Am I grossly underestimating my ability even still?

Thank you for your reply to my question. I was curious and you gave a straight forward answer that appeals to my sense of truth. I will not further explore Ascension ideas. It actually sound like the symptoms of menopause to me. Ha! Blessings, Barbieanne

i know you didn't address this to me but... Ascension symptoms, in my opinion, are a clever way of explaining the current forward motion of the symptoms of human evolution. Interestingly most of the ascension sites began shortly before the new millenium and instead of predicting the end of the world as many millenia did before, they promote a growth or evolution theme. Seems every millenium there is an outpouring of some kind of human emotion whether it be fear or hope.

In regard to the OBE being discussed as well as dream states, they are all currently classified as altered states of consciousness. Usually with OBE the individual will be IN the scene not outside of it.

The psychic world is not a free for all. There is structure found there. It actually exists. It isn't made BY us so we don't control it. We control our consciousness (while in our living body) because we make it. You can imagine anything you want- that doesn't mean it exists.

Edmund- second-hand info of creating portals is called mythology. Portals that swallow up people and spit them out a couple of days later is called science fiction. If you have anything of non-fiction proof of portals, say, first hand accounts from personal experiences, please send them my way. I will read them with an open mind.

If it ever happens again, I will try what you suggest. I'd like to do it again just to see if I can. So far it has not happened.

As to being the same age as in the portal... The woman in the portal was young around 30 or so... I am not young. Blessings, Barbieanne

Barbieanne... Starwatcher... One of the tricks to get a few more moments of viewing time is to never focus on one thing in the portal for more than a second or two at the most... You must constantly shift your eyes to I'll say different objects in the portal. Also your age that you saw the scenes in the portal is relevant to the people in the portal... Just popped in my head... Maybe you were the same age when that happened.

That is it! That is what I would describe my experience as. What do you make of it? Why would this happen now after all of these years. What is the purpose of such an event if one does not understand the scene that one is seeing. I am 54 and never had experienced such until last summer. The way you talked about trying to hold on to the scene is like what I tried to do. Where you afraid when you exited your body? I've never done that and think it would be a frightful experience. The thing that I've had happen that somewhat resembles this is what I call "the movies in my mind" or "the fadeout". I'll be going to sleep and in that place between sleep and wakefulness I'll sometimes see different scenes or people and overhear conversations. It's like watching a movie, or something on TV, I'm observing it, but not interacting. When I try to concentrate too hard and pay direct attention to it, they disappear. I've also experienced where I've been asleep and opened my eyes, seemingly awake with my eyes wide open, but I am still in a different (dream? OBE?) environment or seeing something else in front of me. It then changes/dissolves/fades away into the actual physical place that I'm in after a few seconds.

I've actually felt myself come back into my physical body once after lucidly trying to stay somewhere else on the "other side" (but failing), and then when I returned, my physical body didn't feel like it was "me" or "mine" for a short while. It was the strangest physical sensation that I've ever experienced, I kept feeling my arms and legs with my other hand when I was fully awake to make sure that this was really indeed my body! I first was aware of being back in my physical body at the "third eye" region, in the middle of my forehead.

revsilverson... To will a portal with your mind and to be able to use it is quite a feat I have heard second hand accounts of it done by south western native American shamans but even in their cultures it was quite a rare event. But I have read many a story where one opens up and people don't come back they just vanish or in some accounts reappear minutes, hours, or days later. There are also many accounts of remote viewing where it looks like your looking through a portal but you can't let's say walk through it... Its just basically for viewing purposes only. Also if your just a bit psychic you would know Flutter of wings is the real deal.

HI Barbie, No I just wanted to know if it keeps happening. I keep a journal when things like this happen. That way I can see if there is a pattern that may help me down the road. So just wondered if they still occured.

Once again thank you for your information. If one can accumulate information from others it gives a point of reference in which to study for answers. I didn't know that remote viewing was used in war time and that any one could do it. The book on dreams that you mentioned is on it's way to my home now. Are there any other references that you might be willing to share that would help me with my path? I had read on another thread about Ascension. I'd never heard that expression except with the story of Christ. It kept me occupied all day and answered some of my other questions. Being brought up in a fundamentalist christian home, and being afraid to seek answers on this subject, has kept me ignorant until now. Blessings, Barbie

dear flutter- portals appear out of nowhere in your mind. Usually they occur near water or cemetaries or over burial gounds. The story you wrote is quaint but not accurate.

revsilverson explained about remote viewing quite well. I sometimes can will a remote viewing and sometimes I just can't.

You mention portal you may of went or looked through. They do happen as a child I looked into a portal of yesteryear called " The mirror of yesteryear". My son I seen go into a portal in the story I wrote called " Portals appear out of no where". So this may of happen to you too.

Has this happen anymore since the time you wrote this story?

remote viewing is used to find lost things. It was also used (and may still be) by intelligence agencies to spy on people in other countries. In most cases remote viewing shows current activities but sometimes may also involve the past or the future. Studies done by harvard show remote viewing can be taught even to people with no psychic ability.
I always research my visions and dreams and I have been very blessed to find more and more info about what the vision/dream was telling me. I haven't pursued my visions, they have pursued me but I take another step forward with them by learning more about the piece of the puzzle I was shown.

Thank you for posting. What is the significance/purpose of remote viewing? Why would someone need to do that? Is one given this as a token experience so that they search further for answers?

I understand about dreams telling someone something they may need to know, or as a way to work through an experience of some sort and can relate to that.

Sounds like your "remote viewing" in your visions. I agree with Edmund that there is lots of answers but you'r the only one that can answer it. Good luck in your search to what this is.

Thank you for the reference book information. I will be searching out this book on dreams.
I "feel" that your interpretation of it being a "message" dream suits what is going on inside of me. I am searching and have felt a "calling" for sometime now concerning an advancement in my spiritual awareness.
Another person I know, has told me close to the same thing. That is two in agreement. Thank you again. Now I need to find out how to get where I need to go. Blessings, Barbieanne

Like others have said, it is most likely astral projecting/remote viewing/retrocognition/precognition of yourself (you never know) or of others. I'm not entirely sure and am going to attempt to "open a portal" myself. Try making your own portal after a few hours of waking up. See if you're able to open a portal containing the same properties as if you just woke up.

dear barbieanne- with the additional info you have provided, this doesn't sound like astral travel. It might be retrocognition (seeing the past) or a dream with some meaning you should research. Nudity in dream language implies freedom and a natural state. Water implies purity or cleansing. The stairs and raised house implies advancement or spirituality. The "watcher" is probably yourself. Also, dreams are sometimes products of our longing for another life or a change to the past we wished we had made. You might want to use The Element Encyclopedia of 20, 000 Dreams as a source for further interpretation.

If I had more information, I'd give it. There isn't any thing else. These are my first experiences with this sort of thing. I have looked in the internet for information or I wouldn't even know what lucid dreaming is.
The house is on stilts. It is made of wood and has windows. I know it has windows due to the light that was in them. The stair way was made of wood and had a rail to hold on to for climbing said stairs. The house reminded me of homes I had seen when I lived in Georgia as a child which has been over 40 years ago. Since the woman and child were naked I have no clothing for dating the time period. Other wise every thing seemed very normal. Blessings, Barbieanne

From my experiance, if I have a lucid dream, it usually means that I'm seeing the future. So maybe your seeing yours?

I'm very new to this stuff because I've just "come out" about my own abilities. From my experiance, if I have a clear dream, it usually means that I'm seeing the future.

more info is needed here but my initial guess is that you are astral projecting while asleep/just awakening. Your spirit may be visiting another dimension and the shimmering is your concentration increasing then wavering as your spirit returns. My experience has been that the people in another dimension look like humans but live their lives in a totally different culture, dress differently and their clothes and buildings (even modes of transportation) are all different. Would you say the house you see in your vision is recently made or does it reflect another time or country?
