I don't know what it is, but I can look at photographs and determine if those in the photograph are alive or deceased.

Today I was scrolling through family photographs of those with family members in the Air France crash and I could easily determined which member of the family had died based on looking at the faces in each photograph. Some photographs contained multiple departed family members and I again could easily recognize them.

I remember this happening from an early age, every since the boy that my father was mentoring through Big Brothers/Big Sisters committed suicide. I've never been able to find any information about this weird psychic trait. Maybe there is even a term for it?

To some degree it makes me wonder if for some reason I have a greater psychic ability that I haven't realized... I have attempted to tap into possible psychic abilities but within a few days with only moderate returns I end up just going back to regular everyday life. I want to know why it is the photographs that I can pick out, but I know I will never know the reason. I wish there was a way I could help others with this "gift" but I can't imagine any good coming from being able to tell someone that a loved one has passed on...

Being able to "read" pictures and objects which a person owns is called "psychometry". It enables me to tell someone if their loved one in the photo is alive, where they are, personality traits about them, etc. I did this for a friend last week. I can also do this by touching an item which the person owns/owned. Psychic Detectives use this ability often. For example, when I see a picture of a stranger who is missing I usually know right away if they are dead or alive. I can also sense when I see children what occupation they will grow up to do, and if they will die soon or have a serious illness. It is sometimes difficult to know such sad facts. For this reason I can rarely handle looking at old photographs in antique shops and I try not to look at children in public because of what I might see in them.

Hello Kinsleyjade,
You asked if there was a name for this psychic trait - there is - it's a form of 'psychometry.'
It's a very useful trait and as Buruberi mentioned, can be a great help when trying to trace a missing person. I don't know if you watch any of the Psychic Detective shows but you'll see it's a skill they use when trying to establish whether they are looking for a live person or a deceased one.

i form the strongest connection with spirits and performing remote blessings for the health of the living when I see their picture. It helps me get on their wavelength. It is possible to form a connection with a person in a picture and know they are dead. Sometimes they want to say goodbye to their loved ones.

Sometimes it is better to say nothing but sometimes if my clients ask me, I tell them someone is dead. I never volunteer that info as it can be hurtful to the person who is involved. I try and heal in thoughts, words and deeds so I am careful and thoughtful about what I say.

Why don't you study up on psychic abilities and dedicate yourself to the Divine Spirit. To help heal others. Then see what happens with your psychic gifts.

i can not do what you do, but I can 'read' photos... I look at the faces in the photos and can read parts of their personalitites. I have even been able to do psychic readings off just a photo. And I have no idea what that is or mean either. But I bet you could do the same, but better then me. Just try... Try to see what you pick up and get off of these people... Adn get others to confirm it so that you get confidence with it.

Was one of your family members on there? If so, I send my condolences. I know when one will die, along with my siblings. I control it, Ariana is learning, and Patrick rarely. You should embrace it, it could help parents or people who have died. (Etc...A child goes missing. You see their picture, they're alive, or dead.)
