Lost Empath

This is my first post so I hope I can get this right. About two years ago I learned that I am able to feel other people's emotions without them telling me about them (I have learned from this site yesterday this is called being empathic). These two years have been a real big learning experience and I know I have been able to do this all of my life, just never understood it and figured it was normal. I can do this just being within the same area as them. Some people, who I am close with, I get a really strong energy from and can feel them from many miles away. Sometimes they are so strong that I have a hard time separating them from my own emotions.

I love my ability and wouldn't trade it for the world but understanding it is so hard, and I don't have anyone that lives close to me to talk or help me with this. I'm really looking for help in mastering and growing this ability, I know it is not really any one else's responsibility to do so but I really hope you all can help. I have been told that meditating will help a lot and I do (probably not as much as I should) and it helps some, but I hope there are more things that I can be doing. Also, I always have a headache in some form and I know that they are caused because I can always feel people's energies, I am hoping that their might be a way to lessen these headaches or just make them go away completely. If anyone has any insight, I would love to hear it! Thanks

Hello.

Shielding IS the most helpful, wonderful thing ever invented. Not blocking, but shielding. There are many different ways to shield, but we have written a blog on the more traditional way, spiced by some of our own recordings, on our MySpace site, under our blogs. If you'd like to check it out, it may help.:)

Blessings & safety; Vendettas.

Thanks fossilera I will work on the sheilding thing. And as for the telling my parents thing, I'm going to have to figure that one out. I have to change my perception of my mom first! But thanks for the advice!

I'm an empath but I can shut off peoples emotions coming at me...I'm very sorry to say this, but I really don't know how I do it.

I'm also an empath (born with it) - while I don't know much about enhancing it (I just accepted it as it was), I do know that meditation is the key to both enhancing and relaxing the ability.

Also, to get rid of the headaches, you may want to look up "shielding" on here or a site like psipog.com. All this does is create a "barrier" that blocks out things like a person's thoughts and emotions, negative entities. The best part is you can make these shields only block out certain things, and they aren't permanent- you can make one on the spot with some practice.

To both Riicebunnx and LillyPod1: it's okay to tell your parents- trust me. I didn't tell them, and they thought I was mental because my mood would change on an instant- I told them, and they stopped questioning. And if they say "its the devil's work", then do not listen to them- it is not

Yea I haven't told my parents either! I'm pretty sure they would think I am crazy! I have two friends with way higher abilities with me but it's not easy to talk with them because they live in another state! My little cousin knows and she is real supportive of me but she does not have abilities so she can not really help much. It would be nice to have more friends that I can go to.

Cool =D
I am empath too... And I think I have been one all my life... But, the thing is... I can't tell my parents or anything... You know? They'll think its something stupid...
I've told my friends but they don't really seem to care.
