The central event of my story occurred most recently, approximately two weeks ago. However, I'd like to begin at an earlier point. My name is Darryl, I'm fourteen years old, and for as long as I can remember, I've had an intense, burning desire to have extraordinary and paranormal abilities. I've always known I would have them eventually, somewhere inside my head. I'm fairly accomplished at telepathic suggestion, and I have déjà vu at least five times per day. Sometimes bits and pieces of my dreams come true as well, but I've always felt that there was a deep hidden power inside me, untapped and burning to get out. I've tried many times to discover what it is. I often meditate, attempting to reach deep down inside myself to figure out what it is. It's like a wild and untamed energy coursing through, but hanging on the very fringe of my perception. It was as if it wanted to drive me insane (not literally), daring me to discover its true nature. Eventually I did, and it scared me to death.
A few months back I began to have dreams of the elements of the ancient world: earth, fire, water, and air. Except, and don't ask me why, there was an additional element. This element was that of lightning, which I didn't consider a separate element until those dreams. It appears that lightning seemed to possess a combination of some of the traits of the other four elements, the fierceness of fire, the strength of earth, the piercing sharpness of wind, and the fluidity of water. I have only just begun to scratch the surface of the understanding of this. After having these dreams, I wanted to see if I could move any of these elements. I tried willing the wind to move, and it seemed to. I tried testing this out almost every day, to make sure that it wasn't just a fluke and that I really had done it. I was also able to make a candle glow brighter, and control the direction the flame swayed. I haven't tried anything with earth, as it is the most stubborn element, or anything with water, for reasons unknown to me, but I can cause a mild storm.
Now, we move on to the central topic of this story. A couple of weeks ago, I was doing some reading on many different websites from the results of a random search of the elements. I came across the terms 'elemental entities', 'elemental spirits', 'devas', 'elementalists', and a few others that had me intrigued. I knew in that instant that I had stumbled upon something that had something to do with me. I could feel the connection, drawing me impulsively toward doing what I did.
I felt connected to these entities, like I was meant to speak to them. So, I went outside and simply listened while meditating. After I felt like I could try to reach out to nature, I mentally called to any elemental spirits and asked them to manifest so that I may speak with them. I just simply waited and listened. After awhile, I became aware of a presence surrounding me. From what I could sense (and trust me, that fact that I can sense anything is a miracle), it was rather powerful. The wind blew harshly around me and a female voice spoke clearly and lucidly in my mind. She explained to me that she was the wind spirit that frequented the area around my house. She told me that I was an elementalist, one born with the ability to befriend and impose their will on elemental spirits. She spoke of the other spirits of the other realms and elements, and said that the elementalist gift was the power I had been feeling. She had been drawn to it. Of course this name was just something she thought I would understand. She told me that the true human name of this ability was 'san'qui'ran. I do not know what language it is from, and she is not keen to tell me, but I have this feeling it means 'one who heals and protects nature'.
Later I was informed that when I had willed the wind to move, I had been indirectly imposing my will on two minor elemental spirits to move the wind for me. Soon after, equally powerful spirits as Shiaria came, one from each element including lightning, becoming my friend and promising to protect and work with me. I was elated. They each had different personalities and quirks. I learned that they were powerful spirits called devas, who ranked over most elemental spirits. They claimed that I could easily control those smaller entities with training, but for some reason cannot explain my powers, and I have no idea how to control them. I've tried channeling my energy into causing effects, but it was not working. I tried channeling their energy through me, but it just makes me feel sick. It took me several days to get used to their presence as it seemed to be negatively affecting me. I had to raise an energy shield and block them out often. But now, they're voices chorus musically in my mind, helping me through problems and generally being what they said: friends.
They also protect me from some evil spirits and negative energy, because having my energy levels and spirits surrounding me attracts attention, so I try to put up deterring shields around us, but somehow a few see through them. I think that these spirits may allow me a certain amount of control over the elements with their gracious help. I have a problem though. I don't know how to get it. For some reason they still won't tell me most of what's going on. They claim that they cannot be the ones to reveal that, and say that if they reveal it, I won't be ready.
The bottom line is, that I do not understand how my powers work, what exactly these devas are, why they are here, and what purpose they play in my life. I am hoping that you, the readers, can help me with my problems. I'm only a fourteen-year-old child. I can only deduce so many things. I have very little experience in this world, and I could use some assistance. If you know what these spirits are, how to teach me to control my abilities, or even tips to discovering this for myself. I am new to this site, and when I found it, I was happy because I thought I had finally found a place that might be able to help me. So if you can help me, I would be eternally grateful (hope you don't take that literally) :-). I'll take any information, any snippets, comments, prose, instructions, you name it. I'm not picky, and I'd be willing to try most things that people suggest, as long as they are not dangerous and don't cause me any bodily or spiritual harm.
