Multiplying Tarot Cards

Summer 1986 my soon to be wife (now ex) wanted to get me a special gift. What she bought me was a deck of Tarot card's. This is the only deck I have ever owned that I did not buy. Something strange happened with this deck, and I've never found out exactly what.

Samantha (Sam) wanted to get me a 'joined the Navy' gift. I had recently enlisted and was in the delayed entry program. She went to an occult shop called Ye Olde Mystique Shoppe and purchased a Tarot deck called The Stairs of Gold by Tavaglion. The shop owner asked her as she checked out what they were for and Sam told her, a gift for my fiance. The shop owner then asked her if she could bless the deck before she left the store. Sam thought this was a cool idea and soon left with a 'blessed deck' of Tarot cards. She gave them to me and I went through the complete deck to look at all the cards. This deck is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, great art work and the symbols on the cards... They are just wonderful to look at.

I began using them, everything seemed fine and I really liked this deck. A friend asked for a reading... As I waited for them to come by my house I was 'casting' the cards... Just shuffling them, then laying them out, picking up those cards and laying out another 10 cards. Something caught my eye... I had just pick up a 'casting' that had the Ace of Coins in the 7th position. My next 'lay out' had the Ace of Coins in it... In the 5th position (for reference I use the Celtic Cross Pattern) This card being in another 'casting' was really odd as I was just picking up the casts and setting them to the side. So I pick up my last cast and sure enough there was the Ace of Coins... Now sitting beside another Ace of Coins... My deck, which had the normal amount of cards, now had two (2) Ace of Coins. I didn't know what to think...

First I thought it may have to do with the meaning of the card...

Ace of Coins: Satisfaction... Perfect contentment, happiness.

Good sentiments, but not much help...

Long story short... The next 2 times I go to do readings for people, as I do my 'warm up casting' a similar thing happened... The next card to Double itself was the 2 of Coins (Embarrassment, moments of stasis or perplexity, arising of difficult situations). The next card... The Three of Coins (Fame, great artistic ability, Perfection that brings fame and dignity).

So by the end of the Summer I have a Tarot deck that has extra cards and I have no idea where they came from. I keep my cards in a silk lined, locked box and yet I have these extra cards. I consulted Psychic's (2), a Numerologist and even did reading's for myself. I never figured out why this happened.

I left for the Navy on November 20th 1986, Bootcamp, School in Pensacola Fl and reported to my first ship in Charleston, SC. I returned to Pensacola, Fl in May 1988 and when I unpacked... The box with my cards was not there. I know I packed it... But It was gone. I still use the same Tarot deck, one I have bought for myself but even after all these year's I still do not understand what was happening with that deck but I'd love to find out.

Respectfully,

Rook

Anaelyssa,

Interesting question, however with all the meanings assigned to each card and multiple combination's that exist with-in a deck of 78 cards it's not a common problem that the 'same card' is needed to 'make a point' in a reading.

Thank you for asking.

Respectfully,

Rook

Personally, I think such a deck of cards would be useful. I don't really understand why there has to be only one of each card in the deck. What if the truth required the same card in several different positions?

The dream was my grandmother giving me the bracelet. The rest actually happened. I was wondering whether objects with certain energies are only meant to stay with us until we need them.

Adaryn7,

I truly was... But I have sense replaced it with another... But I have not had the same results.

As for your Dream... I have to agree with the 'shop owner', it seems as if it was 'time' for the one to replace the other... Has this happened? I mean in the waking world? Or is it still just a 'possibility' of something that could happen from the land of dreams?

Respectfully,

Rook

A truly beautiful Tarot deck, I'm sure you were sorry to lose it!

Perhaps this is not quite the same sort of thing, but I once had a dream in which my grandmother (who passed away some years ago) visited me and gave me a tiger's eye bracelet. A few weeks later I found that bracelet in a New Age store. When I tried it on, the citrine bracelet I was wearing broke quite suddenly and unexpectedly. I was embarrassed, as I worried that the shop owner would think I'd broken her merchandise. When I explained to her what had happened, she said that perhaps I no longer needed the other bracelet.

You're story is infinately more mysterious, but I thought I'd comment anyway.

Blessed be

I'm sorry, are you speaking to me AnandaHya? I cannot tell. Are you speaking to Naturalscience? That's who I was speaking to. And I know that Naturalscience is VERY capable of answering for himself when he gets around to it. It is sweet that you feel you have to protect this person from me but I can assure you there is no need. Understand this if you want to understand me at all. Not all disagreements are fights, it's not even a heated discussion. Not everything I say or ask is a confrontation. If you see it that way then maybe you should examine that by looking within yourself.

now if we could se the danger presented by the universe perhaps the "nations" differences might look small in comparison
. Are not all humans brothers and sisters?

Is it more important to be "right" or to act in love?

Is it always "strength" to show no weaknesses and never cry or mourn or plead for help?

Naturalscience, I was with you until you went negative against the very ones who defend our freedom. I doubt you realize the insult you have laid on the ground before my feet, as I too served in the duty of our country. Why would you assume serving and protecting our country as a soldier contrary to the spiritual plane? Are you unfamiliar with the role of archangels? And how would you suggest we protect ourselves from those who would come to destroy our freedom and enslave our children? Or do we do nothing and just let it happen?

Ever read Michael Ende's "Neverending Story" as a book? In the end of this great tale, the magical Book through which the hero enters the Parallel World, called Fantasia, gets lost without a trace. The book-seller where the hero had found it, when asked about this, answers: "Perhaps the book itself stemmed from Fantasia."
I think your tarot deck was a special one, magical as that book in the tale. It went away after having done its task to you and those you counseled with it.
There could also be another explanation: you went to Navy - and there is nothing, to my account, that is so contrary to the whole spiritual plane than a soldier's job. One could put it thus: "Your deck felt bad with Navy vibes around, and ran off."

Thak you for your comments. As always they are welcome. As far as 'where they went'? Who knows, I hope that where ever they ended up they were able to Help someone.

For those intrested here's a link that has some prety good pictures of the deck...

Shinigami0,

It could depend on many things... The question asked... How detailed the answer needed to be or even how 'Firm' the answer (outcome) of the reading was. If these readings were 'not so serious' in nature, (ie: will I be rich, have I met my signiicant other yet...) Then it could be 'randomocity'.

The cards are not 100% and I've seen the exact same question be asked twice in a row receive different answers... It's for that reason I use the Celtic Cross pattern...

For those who do not know what this looks like here's a link...

For my readings the cards 'repersent' the following:

Cards 1&2: Central Dynamic... Things happening to the person asking the question (s) that pertain to the question asked...

Cards 3&4: Recent Past (Points of validation to ensure the casting is 'in tune' with the person asking question (s)).

Cards 5&6: Near Future (Things that (may) come to pass as what ever situation has been asked about resolves itself (validation points as things head to completion).

Card 7: Represents the person asking the question... Present state of mind that may effect outcome/ or outside influences that may effect outcome.

Cards 8-10: These 'add' up to the final answer... In some cases card 8 may add to what card 7 was 'saying' but together the 'answer' is 'reveiled'.

All cards are slid off the top of the deck, from right to left and flipped the same way. (if flipped from end to end the meaning ends up being 'reversed' before the face of the card is seen...

That is how I conduct my readings... Is it the way 'everyone' does... More than likely not. Does it work for me... Yes.

Rook

Yeah, I like that idea best, plus it does have that mysterious, make you think, quality that makes the "Twilght Zone" theme start in playing in my head. Doodododoo, doodododoo DUH!... DUH!...DUH! 😊

Twilight Zone-ish, ain't it? 😆 But really, I think the deck chose to leave Rook. Maybe it was like "My job here is done". 😆

"Wonder who the deck chose next?" Now that is freaky. Serling/Hitchcock freaky, you know? I really don't know much about Tarot Cards and I've never had a reading (I heard that gasp!) but just the idea of the deck moving on to someone else is pretty freaky. The store owner Blessing them, the beauty of the artwork. Great story Rook, makes a person say "Hmmmm" 😊

Hey Rook! As always, its nice to read your stories.

I actually had a question about Tarot readings, and seeing how you're experienced with them, thought you might know.

I've had some readings both from this site and when friends helped, and it seems every time I have a reading, a large portion of the cards are from the Major Arcana. Never fails. Every time.

Does this mean anything, or is it just randomocity?

I love tarot cards. The art work itself on some decks is amazing. I own several decks. However, I find myself going back to my Rider-Waite deck. Maybe because this deck is one of the oldest, and for me, easier to read.

I like Rashidah's idea though. Wonder who the deck chose next?

Rashidah,

Well they did enhance a few readings, not often, but I did have reading or two that contained one of those cards and it's twin... But never more than one of the multiple cards... (ie: I never saw 'both Ace's along with both Three's in the same reading. Hope that makes sense...)

As far as not telling anyone about the cards...It's very possible that is it...it's as good an answer as any others that I've considered over the years.

Thank you for your thought's.

Anyone else, all input is welcome...

Respectfully,

Rook

This is very strange indeed. The extra cards may have came about due to spiritual intervention to enhance your readings.

I am very sorry you lost that deck. Maybe you weren't suppose to tell anyone about the other cards manifesting. This might explain why you lost them.

I could be wrong though. That is the best explanation I can think of 😕
