Empathy: Sensing Feelings And Controlling It

Hey guys. My name's Chris.

So, I've known more or less that I could really "feel" people and sense the emotions/feelings of those around me ever since I was 6 years old. My mother STILL tells me to this day about how I used to meditate at the age of 6 and up to 10 years old whenever we would take hikes or walks in any kind of Woods/Forests. Now, I don't remember doing that at all, but my mother and father seem to have very vivid memories about it.

Anyway, I never knew the exact term for my "Gift", if you will, until I began to delve deeper into the world of Psychism at the age of maybe 12 (I am currently 15). I learned all about Empathy and what it was/meant in a nutshell then, and that was when I discovered the proper term for what I could do.

Nowadays, I just go about life sensing the true feelings/emotions of those closest to me and also around me in general. But what I would really like to do is find out how to harness it because sometimes it gets so out of control that I feel like I could explode at any minute with all the different feelings that rush through me from people around me.

And another topic I'd like to address is my Sexuality compared to my Empathy: Am I Bisexual BECAUSE I am an Empath? Or am I an Empath BECAUSE I am Bisexual? I honestly cannot tell... But I know that it's all for the best regardless of what the answer is.

Can anybody help me out with being able to harness my Gift so as to be able to willfully read people's emotions?

I would greatly appreciate it! =D Thank you guys for reading!
