Shadow Person

So I moved into the house I'm living in about 5 years ago. Since then out of the corner of my eye, when I enter my room I see a dark figure. I read a story and found out it's a shadow person. And he is always in the door way of my brothers room staring at me when I see it. (not sure if its male or female) is there some way I can talk to him, found out why its here and if it needs help? I would really appreciate the help.

I have read that they are bad and good. Can the be both I would like to find out. Also I want to be able to talk to the dead. But I haven't found anything yet that helps me on that I haven't checked at a barns and nobles. I've glimpsed at the are were it would be but the only one I that caught my eye was the necrocimican (not sure if I spelled it right) and I looked it up and I don't want to do any necromancy. Wouldn't like to be haunted. Is there a good book or site that I can check out.

And how do you know if your a medium because if you've had a gift, and you don't know the difference with out it I would like to know because I feel like I'm being watched when I'm alone in weird places. Any information would help a lot in any of the questions I have asked thank you so much

Google psychic quiz and click on the link titled so. Check your answers at the bottom to the questions provided. Of course, each psychic might get a different result. Look around on the glossary page, there's helpful stuff. It's the first site I trusted.
Speak to ghosts as politly as possible, as they Know far more than any living human. You may want to do this telepathically. I've difficulties communicating out loud, and have always used my mind to talk with them.

Another way you can communicate is with an iovilus. I don't know if I'm spelling that correctly. Anyway its an app for the i-phone that acts as a random word generator. The theory is that the spirits can control the words that pop up. My friend has one that we played around with. We got mixed results. Some was just random junk. But when we had dinner together many words popped up referring to eating and gardening. The gardening words confused us at first until we realized there was a nursery less than a block away down the street. If you listen to EVPs I find that it is easier to hear them through a good set of headphones then through computer speakers. Good luck and have fun.

Leanomalie offers good advice but there are ways for 'non-mediums' to attempt contact with the 'other side'. Get yourself a voice recorder... It can be digital or an 'old fashoned' cassette type. Begin recording and ask simple questions... Pause between each long enough for a person to answer and then ask another question. As you do this also explain that the house is now yours. That you don't mean any 'harm' nor do you want any harm to come to you. After you are done, play back the recording and you may have 'captured' a voice (voices) that you didn't hear while asking the questions. This is called Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP for short).

People that have abilities may be a beacon for spirits who are trying to communicate. It sounds like you may have a presence that is tied to the house. Maybe he or she had family there before that they were taking care of or trying to communicate with. If you see them in the same spot there sounds like that room may have some significance. When I first started getting into this I started reading books from Echo Bodine. Specifically "The Gift". Echo helps identify which gifts you have and how you might be able to develop them.

It doesn't feel like your shadow person has mal intent. Its not always easy for a spirit to communicate with us so when they do, try to listen. Pay attention to your thoughts as well. Not all communication comes from physical sounds. Its typically easier for me to communicate mentally. Although, everyone is different. Be careful attempting to contact the shadow person until you learn how to protect yourself. There are some lost souls/spirits who will try to trick you into thinking they are someone they aren't.
