I'm Not Imagining This

I've always believed that I've had a connection to the paranormal world. Ever since I was very young, I've been able to sense spirits. I'm not one of those people who can see spirits like they are sitting right next to me; I can only sense if there is a spirit, how many spirits there are, their gender, and their approximate age. I can occasionally hear a spirit if it wants to make contact with me. Most of the spirits have just ignored me, but I have found that when one takes a particular interest in me, it is easier for me to sense them and I can tell more about them. I also get different feelings from the spirits that tell me a bit about their intentions. When a there is a good spirit who's only intention is to help, I get a happy, peaceful feeling when they are in the room. When a spirit with bad intentions is around me (I normally refer to them as "dark spirits"), I get a scared feeling that makes me want to run from the room screaming. I can also tell when spirits are mischievous, meaning that they like to try to scare people and pose as dark spirits, but mean no real harm. There are also some spirits that I can sense as being neutral, meaning that they are only there, and they couldn't care less about me; they don't particularly have any good or bad will towards me or others and only happen to be in the same place at the same time.

I have lived in several different houses, but not all of them had spirits. My first house, I was too young to remember, and my second house had no spirits. My third house, however, did have spirits. I was young then, so I didn't pay much attention, but I believe there were only one or two. There was one spirit I had a very close encounter with at that house. One night, I was asleep in my room, and I was awoken by my bed moving. I could hear someone rolling over in bed next to me, and the bed was shaking and creaking when they moved. I immediately froze. I got the sense that it was an older lady. She was not old enough to be called an 'old lady', though. I would guess that she might be in her late forties or early fifties. After a second, she stroked the side of my face and then she rolled back over and sighed. I was shocked out of my mind and didn't fall back asleep for a while. The next day, I told some of my friends about it, and they insisted that I had probably only dreamed it.

The lady did not stick around for very long, which leaves the other spirit. As I said, I was young and didn't pay attention to these things, so the only thing I remember about him is getting the sense that he was a man. When I first moved in, he liked to enter a room that I was in and scare me, but after a while, he just let me be. At first, he seemed a bit mischievous, but after a while, he seemed to get bored and stop trying to scare me, though I could definitely tell he was still there.

When I moved to my next house, it was the worse experience I have ever had. There were two different dark spirits in the house. The first one seemed to stay on the bottom floor and was their since we bought the house. The next one moved into the master bedroom, master bath, and the walk-in closet there after a few months. I don't know much about either of them because when one would enter the room, I would get away from them as quickly as possible. The one downstairs I think was a man, and he seemed to come and go as he pleased, but the one upstairs that normally stayed in the master bedroom seemed to target me specifically while I was alone. I have no idea if it was a man or a woman because I would literally run from that one. There was also another spirit that was a man. He liked to stay in the upstairs bathroom. He had a personality that I would normally describe as mischievous, but he was also a perv, which is why I think I normally found him in the bathroom. He was probably in his thirties, but he might have been late twenties or early forties, as I did not search for a clear impression of him. Sometimes, when I was taking a bath or a shower, he would enter the room. I was very creeped out by him.

There was one little boy, though, that stayed in my room. I got a very clear impression of him. I even got a glimpse of what he looked like in my mind and then had a conversation with him! As I said before, I am not a person who sees or hears spirits like they are normal people. The image I got was just part of me 'sensing' him and the conversation was in my head. I think the reason that I got such a better impression of him than I did any of the others was that he really wanted me to. I got the impression that he was a young boy between the ages of 6 and 9 before I even started talking to him. Then I got the sense that he had medium-length brown hair and pale skin. I had known he was their the whole time, but never payed much attention. I think he was waiting for me to pay attention to him because right when I started trying to uncover things about him, he started speaking to me in my mind. I asked him his name and he told me it. I don't remember what it was now, just that it started with a 'T' like Tony or something. I asked him when he died, and I believe he told me it was in the 1980's. I asked him what he wanted and he said he just wanted to play with me. He was very sweet, and he acted just like any normal boy would. He was mischievous, but not in a menacing way, just in a way that normal little boys are. He liked to hide in my closet and try to scare me when I went in, but he only did it in a playful way. A lot of times, he set the timer on my watch so that it would start beeping and wake me up early in the morning. He also seemed to be very afraid of the dark spirits in that house.

In another house that I lived in, I was very happy. There was a spirit there who was very nice. I could sense that it was an elderly, grandmotherly woman probably in her sixties or seventies. I think she thought of my brother and I as her grandchildren, and she definitely treated us as such, though my brother never knew she was there, not having the abilities that I do. I could smell her perfume sometimes, and she always seemed to be doing things, like she still felt the need to clean and keep things in order. Often times, I would shut both doors to her room and the one to the bathroom off of it before we left, just to test, and then when I came back, they'd all be opened. We redid the room that she stayed in (new comforter, curtains, matching decorations, etc.) but instead of becoming angry like some spirits would, she seemed to like it. She seemed to think of it as a makeover that her grandchildren were doing for her. I am almost completely positive that she was the last owner's deceased mother, who had lived in that room.

There was another spirit who lived in the upstairs part of that house. He was a relatively young man who seemed to have a neutral personality, but there was also something about him that frightened me. It seemed like he had anger issues and if he got mad or frustrated, he might just explode with rage. He knocked a chip of paint off the wall once, while we were gone, but other than that, he really didn't do much and I didn't know much about him. The grandmotherly woman didn't approve of him, and I think he eventually left.

My new house does not have any spirits in it, which makes since because it was built by my family and we are the first to live in it. Although, I think there may be the spirits of my recently deceased pets. One day, I was walking outside in my back yard and I heard my deceased cat's very distinctive meowing. I looked around to see if there was another cat around, but I knew there wasn't, because she was the only cat I had ever heard meow like that. I tried to follow the sound, but after a while, it slowly faded away.

Another time, I was lying in bed and I heard a sound that I cannot describe. It sounded like an animal noise, but it was unlike anything I have ever heard in my life. The only thing that kept me from screaming was the fact that I was too scared to make a noise. I am positive that this was not one of my pets' spirits, but I have no idea what it could be.

Only recently have I fully embraced my abilities and I want to improve them. I have no idea how to do that, though, and am open to any help I can get.

When I was a teenager I had a friend who lived in a house with the energy of an older lady. She, my friend, had been there since young and her parents were both deaf, so no real thought was of concern when noises of housework was heard by her in the night. Except for the noises the only real evidence the lady had been busy was the hand made doilies were never allowed to be moved from where they were or they would be put back to original before the next day. I too felt something about the little boy... The way my neck hurt as I read it I wonder could he have fallen from a bunkbed while playing and passed on. My biggest concern for you is that you are protected from harm. The energy of a young person, you, especially one that is open can be drawing for many different reasons, not all of them healthy for you. If you really want to help, there's much to do. Just be sure you pray for guidance and protection before you draw from the etherworlds. Sending all to God (or your concept of a higher power) and blessing the souls with love, would not require the 'contact' and would still do a good work. Blessed be, Ladyhawke ❤

I wasn't going to comment, because I don't think I can contribute a whole lot that will help you, but your story about the spirit kid really bothers me, and something won't let me ignore it. However, merely telling you that the kid's name was Toby and saying nothing else might be a little bit creepy, so I will give you some advice. Do as much research as you can about spirits and handling psychic powers. Talk to older people who have those powers, and decide if you really want to increase those abilities. Because once you open that can of worms, there is no going back.
