Shadow People In My Dreams

~A Brief History~

I've always had sleep paralysis off and on. I have trained with them in wake to lucid dreaming and learned how to wake myself, sometimes. They don't scare me anymore, I've accepted it as part of my dreaming life.

My dreams have increasingly featured shadow people. Sometimes I even get forcibly pushed out of dreams into wakefullness by them. I remember a dream where everything felt like artifice, as if opening a door to a building would reveal the cardboard cutout of a building and no substance. I wasn't lucid, but the whole dream had the feel of being staged, the conversations I had were awkward. I got a little nervous and decided to play the role and pretend like I didn't notice. As I was doing this, a group of shadow people began to gather and watch closely, as if they knew I was aware and faking it. This didn't go on long before one came up and literally pushed me out of my own dream.

Once falling asleep, arms came up out of the bed and pulled me into a dream. It wasn't scary, just surprising.

~The Dream and other events~

Last night I lay frozen but I was blinking, as I closed my eyes I saw my room full of shadow people, all but one left, that one stood over my body on my bed. My head was at an angle, I strained to turn to see it, but all I could see was a leg and body. I felt inferior to it, that it was well beyond what I can understand. But I was not terrified of it.

It talked to the other shadows, it sounded like nothing. I said "I can see you." It talked to me, it sounded like a voice manipulated recording. It said "The ones that can see us are lucky." I struggled more to see it, it said something else I don't remember and then "Go to sleep now," and called me by my name. I won my struggle to wake and got up out of bed.

I fully intended to stay up for a while, do something distracting, and try sleep a little later. Here is where things got VERY strange for me. I have NEVER had the problem I did last night with being awake. I got up, went to the living room to clear my head but it wouldn't clear. My limbs felt like lead and the same sensation of falling into paralysis was attacking me all over again except I was up and walking around. No matter what I couldn't force my eyes to remain open, and was literally nodding off on my feet.

I had to go back to bed immediately. As I fell asleep I once again had a paralysis episode, and the shadow person WAS STILL THERE, except now at the foot of my bed. I slept a dreamless sleep.

I am scared of the shadow people, I am curious about the shadow people. Everything I read says they are evil, but I do not sense that. Also, I want to know if anybody has talked to one?

from what I know about shadow people, is that they are entities that like to feed on our energies. Sometimes it may seem like someone died in their sleep when it was actually the shadow people. You have to gain control of your life. I don't know why they are visting you. I have had entities visit me all my life, it was not because of anything I have done and I have no control over it. You should put salt all around the corners of your home. If it continues you may need the help of your ancestors and the neteru. The most you can do for now is remain pure, its harder for them to eat your energy when you are pure (clean) in the mind & body... Good luck

pinkmoon, you said there are sites to read about this stuff? Could you tell me some please? And is that how you know what you're talking about? Sorry I'm curious.

I've experienced sleep paralysis before and I know how you feel. I was scared when I saw that thing over me- I could barely breathe and I just stared into its... Well, the thing I saw had green eyes, but it was still a shadow. I was scared and refused to sleep for days. The shadow people- sometimes they stand over you as you sleep. They appear out of the corner of your eye and try not to be seen. But supposedly they gather around people with special gifts. It's rare for them to allow us to see them, but when you do they apparently stop bothering to hide and appear before you.
There are some sites where you can read about them. There are theories where they are merely here to observe us, maybe to steal our special gifts, maybe they are from a different dimension and they see us as we see them.
They supposedly don't want to get involved with us though, I've heard stories where people say that they've spoken with them and the shadows say that they shouldn't accept their existence.
Or they appear because of negative thoughts. So my advice would be to stay positive. Who knows? Maybe they think you're a threat and are on standby just in case. They might be around to prevent people with special abilities from abusing them and using them to harm the others or disturb the peace.
If you're looking for a scientific explanation, it might be part of your sleep paralysis (since people hallucinate during it)
Either way, I hope things get better for you:|

I think judging by your dream that you shouldn't have to fear your interactions but with your comment that followed about the ring I think you should be cautious.

I too have been led to believe that shadow people are evil but there's been people who have had many interactions that aren't sinister in nature. Then 1 negative experience can change all that. I also wonder why fear is the emotion felt during the interaction. I have been told that they're non human entities but I haven't had a personal experience. I do wonder where they come from.

I hope you get your answers in a safe way. Please be careful what you wish for. I hope these occurances settle down & subside soon.I'm sure there's people here in a better position than me to help & more knowledgable about "shadow" people. Thanks for your story it was very interesting to read of your experience & the way in which they communicate. Sending Love & Peace your way. ❤

No idea about the ring. My friend~ thinks maybe they're trying to mess with your head, see what you'd do or something, or it could mean something. Something they want to use you for? He's not sure. Anyway, if you want to speak to them more, don't be afraid of them. Open up, stay calm, respect them in a way. If you don't want to, tell yourself they aren't real, occupy yourself with something else.

Ok, I am in over my head. I KNOW how this sounds but I hope someone out there is reading and can tell me something because it's obvious I am out of my league. I have done nothing to provoke anything, I intended only to speak more to shadow people when I saw them. This morning I woke up in a normal way after a normal night's sleep. I live alone and I keep my house neat and sparse. In the middle of the living room floor very visible was the one ring... The one ring?! From Lord of the Rings. I have never owned such a thing. It's heavy and of some kind of metal. My apartment was locked up and secure, nothing else was disturbed, just this ring from nowhere...

Well I don't know how much from dreams is real but I can tell you the shadow people are plenty real. I'm not afraid to talk to them, I have nothing to lose really, but I have only actually seen them in semi conscious dreams. Otherwise there's one that talks to me pretty regularly.

I like to stay on the science side of things. But I find I think of these shadow people as having a muchness that is more than a dream. I want to see them again, and figure it out, I don't want to see them because they scare me. I am beginning to question the muchness of some things I encounter in dreams. But I don't want dreams to be anything more than dreams, because I have seen terrifying and horrible things. There is only one way to find out.

I speak to them. Not all are so friendly, but they're definitely not all bad.

Hello, after reading your experience I understand where you are coming from. Personally I haven't had this happen to myself I just can sympathize. I know Shadow People can stay in an area just not to much in a single place. Possibly it has something to deal with you since you can enteract with them. As much as I'd love to help I can't tell you much besides keep me informed on your experiences. I've seen my fair share of shadow people just never have spoken to any. If you don't mind here is my email address derek_ram_esco [at] yahoo.com
