Heard A Conversation After A Night Terror

Recently I've been feeling a little low because of several things that happened. I lost two pets within months of each other, I was supposed to go on a trip that was cancelled last minute and I've been extremely stressed. Over the last few weeks, I haven't experienced anything odd so I didn't really pay that much attention to the spiritual world. I was so upset about lots of things going on and I asked for a bit of guidance. I prayed and asked for help through these stressful situations. Last night I decided to meditate a little. It's been a long time since I did it but I'm going to a class this weekend so I thought that I'd try to get back into it. So many thoughts were going through my head that I just couldn't concentrate so I just decided to go to sleep. Next thing I know I'm having a night terror. I have these a lot but recently I've been sleeping well. I had some kind of night terror with a portal that was on the wall behind me and something was trying to get through it. I dove up to switch on a light but I couldn't find the switch, so I ran into another room and switched on the light. I honestly believed that this portal was real for about 5 minutes. When I had completely woken up, I returned to my bed. I was laying in bed, wide awake when I heard a conversation above me. My mother and my sister sleep in bedrooms upstairs. It sounded like two women having a conversation and laughing. I couldn't make out exactly what they were saying, but I figured that it was them. I got up in the morning and I complained to my mother that she hadn't checked up on me when I screamed during the nightmare. She said that she hadn't heard me. I told her that it was mean to talk about me during the night. She told me she didn't wake up during the night and that they didn't have a conversation during the night. I know it's not anything serious, but it was just so out of the blue. I was wide awake during the conversation and I know for a fact that I heard two women talking. What do you think?

[at] Dreamerboy869 I know that one of them was a female for sure and the other I'm unsure about because it was a different animal.

[at] Starlight84 The only reason that I have night terrors is because it's genetic. It's been running in my family for years and years. We're kind of used to it. I've never actually seriously tried to astral project but I try to meditate often.

Another thing, what's it called when you just know something? I went on this ghost tour (which was great) and as soon as I reached a ledge on a wall, I immediately knew that a woman was pushed off it. About ten minutes after I had this thought in my head, the guide told the story of a woman who was fooled into believing that the man she was going to run away with wasn't going to show up. Legend has it that she either hanged herself or jumped off the ledge. It was very out of the blue and I've never had an experience like this before. I knew nothing of the story or the woman yet I feel very strongly that she was pushed and in my mind I could see her falling.

Dear friend,
I have a theory about night terrors that I haven't had enough time to look into but please consider the following as a working model. When we sleep at night we do so so that we can recharge and reconnect with source energy. As this happens our astral bodies go to the astral plane. Charles Leadbeater, who studied with Madame Blatvasky and the Theosophians, said that there are seven levels to the astral plane and Our waking life is the eighth level. At the lowest levels are spirits and energies that tend to resonate with the physical world and have base wants and desires opposed to "losing attachments" and being unafraid. I think that people who suffer night terrors do so because they are worried to leave their physical bodies. You see this a lot with people who were abused by family members in the night or generally had chaotic existences and always feel that they need to be in control of what is happening. The reason why victims of abuse need to be in control, is because they've been abused when they're not, like when they're children and too young to control their environments. In your case, you could just be sensitive and your astral body doesn't want to leave because of the recent losses of your pets. That said, if you have a history of night terrors, you may want to review why it is that you don't want to leave or go into the astral plane. If you were unafraid, you would resonate at a higher level and have experiences that were eye opening or peaceful or happy. Because the lowest level is base, it makes sense that the astral world mixes with your waking life since the astral plane is right here, all around us, it's just vibrating at a MUCH higher frequency.
Best of luck. Peace and love and all that jazz. SL84.

TheGreatUnknown--

Seems to me your meditation opened you to things but, even if your meditations were positive, the weight of two pet deaths and other stressors in your life might have made you open to some negativity--hence the portal dream.

Remember that dreams are symbolic and are warnings often. So, having taken it as a warning, and if it happens again, you might try to learn meditations that have you focus on positive things until you know you are in a better state. Then you can go back to sleep.

Later, awake and lying there, you were probably still able to experience from some dimension (astral) and you heard the conversation of the two women. It happens to people often where they hear or see parts of images, parts of conversations. These aren't necessarily spiritually important to them (i.e. Not from guides or others) except to notify you that you are experiencing crossover into other dimensions.

Your heading to class and that's great. You might surround yourself with a bubble of white or other light--you will know what feels right and protective. You can ground yourself as well before doing meditation. A common method is visualizing your energy going down into the ground like the roots of trees--down and down. That will tend to mediate your experiences so they are not so startling.

Good luck. Don't be too concerned with this experience or spend too much time fretting over it. Just learn to right yourself and move on.
