Shadows

I have had some things happen in my home and I am worried it has started bothering my 3 year old son. I would like to reach out to find if this is something paranormal and if I should be concerned.

To give some background, I moved into the home about 3 1/2 years ago with my son and husband. It has been owned by my father in law for 16 years. The family claims they have had no weird experiences at all in the home over the years. I have not discussed anything with them on my experiences.

I have had no prior problems/experiences in my life (that I know of) with seeing feeling or experiencing paranormal prior to moving in.

I cleansed the home after I moved in and did a very thorough job of it. I have not done another cleansing since.

The fist experience was my husbands. A shadow small and black. A quick streak from a small window in our kitchen in front of a small table lamp on the counter next to the window. He saw it with the corner of his eye. Same spot both times in the kitchen around the same time in the evening when its usually quiet in the home and with minimal lamp light. Both incidents were months apart from each other.

My first experience was in my bedroom sitting up watching tv by myself with plenty of light in the room. It was not a shadow but a movement. I had placed my cell phone on the edge of the night stand next to me. A few minutes went by and all of a sudden it flew off onto the floor!

My husband had the same exact thing happen to him in the same spot and same situation two days later.

Since then, I have seen the shadow once in the same place as my husband did. Just once though. Same quick movement and a very black streak. It left as soon as it came...

I haven't minded these experiences much. I just have said "get out and stop bothering us!" But lately my son has been seeing something.

Not sure what it is but it's usually quiet in the house and just him and I. He has seen what ever it is a few times now that I am aware of.

He is three. So I tried to ask him a few questions with out scarring him.

Today he looked down the hallway and then ran and got on the couch in the living room where I was this morning. I asked him if he saw something and he said yes... The look on his face said it all. I asked him what it looked like and he said at first it was a cat then he said a car was in my room. (you can get a peekaboo view of my room from the hallway).

The incident prior to this was similar, but he didn't want to speak about it. He just kind of clammed up but very serious about it... He was definitely freaked a bit by something because he did not want to get off the couch to show me exactly where it was.

Sometimes I catch him looking in a room that's attached to the back of the house up against the kitchen so you get a huge view of the room at night and during the day. He doesn't want to explain what he sees... He will just say "nothing" very loud and not want to talk about it.

I swear I feel something watching me over there while sitting viewing the tv at night but not all the time.

I have felt dread/fear in my room at night also but it leaves when I pray. I have only felt this a few times.

I know these incidents seem fairly minimal, but I'm just freaked my son is being scared by something.

Please help with any and all on what this could be. Will it get worse?

P.s I have acquired a few books on witchcraft but I have never practiced any part of it. I simply wanted to study the religion. One of my husbands incidents mentioned above did happen when there was no books on witchcraft in the home.

Thank you for your time and any questions are appreciated!

Thanks so much for your comments Amzi!

I have wanted and feel very attracted to Witchcraft but have been hesitant to do so because of the house issues coming up and feeling as though I needed some questions answered before doing so... Specificaly protection and attraction of bad spirits. If you or anyone you know has some answer's for me it would be appreciated.
I understand how to protect myself as instructed in my books, but does this really keep entities from being attracted to someone performing Witcraft in general?

Hi, Jennifer!

For some reason, I found your story extremely interesting. Perhaps it's because my mother went through something similar when I was just a child. I'd love to help, but not sure that I can do so fully. However, I'll tell you what I can.

I would suggest 'cleansing' your house again and possibly doing it quite frequently. Also, if the praying when you sense the presence seems to be helping, keep it up! If your faith is strong, praying can be a very powerful form of protection.

From my personal experience, telling the spirit to leave you alone has actually worked. When I was five years old, my family moved into an old house. My mother swore that the spirit of the previous owner was still there - doors would open at night and alarms would go off even when there were no batteries or source of electricity. My mother, having two young children at the time, was very worried, much like you are now. What she did, was hold a seance of sorts. Her and my father did a cleansing type ritual and basically told the spirit that they were grateful for him letting us live in the house and that we wanted to take care of it. They kindly told him to leave us alone and, you know what? He did! We had no problems after that. So, maybe you could try something like that.

Lastly, dabbling in Witchcraft can be a very dangerous thing and I would encourage you to be very very careful if you do decide to give it a shot. Used correctly and safely, it can be a beautiful thing! However, it can be dangerous, so, for your sake and your family's, please be careful.

I hope I've been of some help and wish the best of luck to you and your family. Please, if you have an update post it here or email us at Vendettasiblings [at] hotmail.com
