Thanks for your input on this. I seldom rub my eyes, but when it happens it's just there, no provocation. These lights aren't just a flash or specks, these are white, very visible moving around lights. They almost seem to have a playful motion. Are you an eye doctor?

you are describing a medical, physiological condition rather than a psychic condition. Pressure to the eyes by rubbing them as you would to remove water from the eyelids before you open your eyes in the shower, will cause white sparkles to appear. Perhaps you rubbed your eyes when you were outside your hotel room too.
