Psychic Experience Of Premonition

This is a true story of an experience I had in 1987 that gave me a vision of the future, that I did not understand at the time.

It started on a Friday night when I went out with my girlfriend. It was in October near Halloween, and I had finished basic training for the Army. I came home to spend some time with family and friends and see my girlfriend. That night my girlfriend had decided to drive, because I was getting a very bad headache, and it was affecting my vision. She decided that she wanted to go see the moon come up, because it was supposed to be a real sight that evening.

Beginning that mourning when I woke up I was getting a real sense of foreboding that would not go away, and kept getting stronger. I could not explain or put my finger on it, but it would not go away. As the day went on I felt a strong pressure in my head, and it kept getting worse as the day crept by. I had promised my girlfriend that I would meet her, and did not want to upset her, so I went that night. I took some aspirin to manage the pain a little bit, and left to go meet her. When she saw me, she could tell I wasn't 100 percent and offered to drive.

We drove up to a hilltop in our area, and it was getting dark, so we parked near a cross on the hilltop and waited for the moon to come out. Right at dusk a light came on and lit up the cross. I glanced over and looked at it for a moment, but did not notice anything special. Soon after that the moon started to rise and cast a warm Orange/Red glow. All of the sudden I had a strange feeling hit me in the pit of my stomach, and I was alarmed a little bit.

This is where things got spooky for me. I started to feel nauseous, and a cold electric chill or shock went through my body, with a feeling of panic or doom. That's the best way I could describe it at that time. My girlfriend looked at me and asked," Are you alright"? I looked over at the cross, and I swear it turned into a Medieval Broadsword before my eyes. I asked my girlfriend if she could see it, and again she asked me, " Are you sure your o.k."? At that point I was shaking and asked her to leave, and take me back to my car.

Believe it or not, this is only the first part of the story. Fast forward to September 1990, 3 months after I had gotten married to my girlfriend now wife. I got my orders from the Army telling me that I was going to Saudi Arabia in the Mideast. I was being deployed for Desert Shield and later Desert Storm.

When I got my new desert camo uniforms I was shocked to see that one of the emblems was a sword on a shield. The sword was identical to the one I had seen in place of the cross that night in 1987 on the hilltop. At that moment everything came into focus and I understood the vision I had that night, and the glimpse of the future that was coming. Now I want to make it perfectly clear that the night I am talking about I was totally awake, and had seen the image of the sword in place of where the cross had been.

I can tell you now that in the span of time between 1987 and 1990, for those three years leading up to my deployment, I had many visions and dreams. I know we are not supposed to discuss dreams on this forum, but sometimes that is how I am shown the future. Sometimes I get distorted visions or pictures during the middle of the day, and I struggle to make sense of what they mean. During this time period I had a recurring dream or nightmare. In the dream the sky was dark and black during the middle of the day, and that there was no vegetation on the earth, only desolation.

At that time I did not understand the vision, but in that war I experienced it in the real world. Saddam Hussein had ordered his men to set fire to the oil wells to block out the view of him from the sky. The thick black oil smoke literally blocked out the sun during the middle of the day. I even witnessed oil drops fall like rain from the sky and cover my vehicle. This is what I was seeing in my dream leading up to the war.

I had numerous dreams at night, and visions during the day. All these windows into the future in that three year span I believe were preparing me for survival in that war. I was there for almost a year and survived many situations without a scratch. Well except for a broken foot, but that doesn't count. The entire time I was there I would get visions or feelings. I definitely listened to the information being given to me. It was like having a vast database to reference for each situation. It was like a little voice inside me said go, stop, and wake up stupid your in trouble. To sum up at this point in my life that particular psychic gift kicked into overdrive. It kept me alive in a bad situation, and helped other people around me as well. They started watching how I would react or asked me what I thought. They thought I had incredible luck and wanted to follow my lead. If I told them something wasn't right, we started looking around real careful, and usually found a way around the trouble.

All in all I believe this gift kept me safe and brought me back home. Being a Christian I believe God gave this to me to keep me safe. I am not preaching and you can disagree with the last line, but that's o.k.

Sorry this got kind of windy, but I got a ton more stories similar to it that are longer and more detailed.

I firmly believe that experiences like yours have kept many soldiers alive in every war that has ever been fought. Your experience was a gift that served you and those around you very well. I would be interested to hear some of your other stories.

regardless of religious ceremony or title... We all breathe the same oxygen, feels emotion, and question our reality at some point. Call it Jesus call it the force, same defined attributes. Higher self-being-god-alien-cricket has lead you down a path for a reason... Why did destiny lead you to this blog? Did being placed in front of your vitality earn your EGO's approval for life beyond the middle east? WHY? And why in question? Your story is sooo interesting because the conclusion is yours and yours alone (to us the viewer) I know what my belief system wants to file you as... But what does yours? War is the saddest realest scariest tactical form in our existence... It changes our heart and minds... What was in the 80s or 90s... Is it valid today? What does this say about our culture/ (human) race? I am me... And my best friend/husband has been enlisted for almost 12yrs... He was first to deploy after 9/11... He sees life as coincidence... I see things different... Question for a QUESt I on... He too survived and has never disclosed emotion of soulfilled alliance only cut throat protocal... To deal? To not?
