I Saw Hellhound Twice

Im 41 years of age. I'm born raised in Louisiana. I love the outdoors, wildlife (hunting, fishing or just observing it). I'm familiar with all wildlife and familiar with effects of drugs like mushrooms, lsd, days without sleep on meth. I have done them all too many times to count so I got nothing to gain from this and don't give me your opinion about a mistaking siting. I was deer hunting in thick untouched woods behind my neighborhood. On the way out around noonish I saw what looked like a massive dog. He had short but scruffy jet black hair. I couldn't see his eyes but they WEREN'T glowing red. They just looked normal. He was 30 feet from me. I said to him "what you doing back here" and I jumped at him trying to get him to run but he continued to stare at me. So I ran about 10 ft and tried to see which way he would run too but he was gone. That was Saturday. Monday morning about 730am I was looking for a possible shot deer. In the same general area of woods on of first siting. I turned back and there he was again. But this time there wasn't as much brush around him. I asked him if he was trying to get my deer. I looked at him through my crossbow scope and got a good look at him. I love dogs and wouldn't think about shooting one. But when I put bow down. He was gone. There was no way he could've ran away without me seeing him. The brush wasn't very thick and sun was out shining. That moment is first time I thought anything other than this was a stray dog. I never bring my phone with me in woods because I have a volume lock app so I can't turn the ring volume down on my phone my mistake. So I leave it at home. Anyway I started googling if any other sightings like mine. I know what I seen and I know I would doubt someone if I was being told this. This thing stood about 4 to 5 ft top of head standing on all 4 legs. He didn't have anything strange about him except he was huge dog. He never made a sound both times and he was staring at me never blinking. I never seen him moving. Second siting was 30 to 40 yards from first siting. Both times were 20ft from edge of narrow swamp. Second siting was opposite side of swamp. So the 30 40 yard estimate is "as the crow flies". I'm bringing my phone with me from now on and will post any more sightings or pictures. Picture of him is what I'm hunting from now on. I have got nothing to gain from this. All it does is make me look crazy so I wouldn't make this up. I have been an outdoorsman from the age of 8 or 9. I have spent a lot of time in the woods. Lately I have been questioning my faith in God. I have been pretty depressed and unhappy with life. I been questioning what's the point of life if you're not happy and I totally believe in God and bible. That being said the bible says God wants to see us happy well why am I so unhappy? I been questioning why my prayers have been unanswered. That is just some info on my spirituality at this point on my life. Has anyone else seen something like that? I have been fascinated with supernatural and mysterious creatures my whole life. But I didn't believe in them. Now I know what I saw and I'm going to look at stories like mine a whole different way.

Dustinarnold1223,

I know exactly what you are talking about. I live in the Midwest and have been an avid outdoorsman since I was young. I had my first experience with the or a Demon Dog or Hell Hound when I was 12 years old. I lived on a farm in a remote area. In the late fall or early winter we used to have a bad problem with coyotes coming on the place. They would be in packs of three or more and would kill and take chickens, ducks, cats, calves from right out of the yard. We had our own pack of dogs that ran the farm place and kept them away. Sometimes the coyotes would catch one of our dogs alone and try and kill it.

One night I was home by myself watching my younger brother and sister. Our dogs outside started barking and raising hell but were right in our front yard and would not leave. It was about 10:00 at night and there was a full moon and about 2 inches of fresh snow on the ground. I remember everything vividly because it freaked me out so bad. You could see almost like day time it was so bright out. I did not need a flashlight. My dogs were scared to death of something and kept barking in a direction toward a shelter belt on the side of our house. I feared the worst and grabbed up and loaded my 12 gauge shotgun with buckshot. I was afraid that a pack of coyotes was going to come right up to our house and kill our dogs. When I went out the door and started walking 2 of my dogs followed and the others stayed back. I walked toward the direction they were barking. I walked through the shelter belt to the edge where a pasture bordered it. My dogs started whimpering and pacing. I felt a cold chill blow across me. Out in the pasture about 20 yards away I saw a huge black shaggy dog. It had medium to short length coarse fur like a wire hair retriever. On either side of it were smaller looking dogs that looked more like wolves or mixed breed and looked mangy or had hair missing in patches. After about 5 to 10 seconds I heard a loud snarl growl sound and the dog or beast lunged and ran at me. I raised up the shotgun and fired as soon as it hit my shoulder. The blast hit the thing square in the chest and head. It was only about 20 feet in front of me by this time. It covered all that distance in a couple seconds, barely enough time for me to react. I was praying to GOD not to let me miss. As soon as I pulled the trigger and the gun went off it disappeared. The other dogs or wolf creatures were also gone. There is no way I missed. I walked forward and saw where the shot went. There was no blood. There were no tracks. Nothing. I went back to the house and all the other dogs were fine and stopped barking. Everything was quiet. The next day I went out looking and found no evidence or tracks or nothing. I will never forget it. I have seen it a few times in the past but it always keeps its distance from me. It is usually in the shadows at the edge of light or boundaries. I can feel when it is around.
