It all started back when I was living in my old house when I was about 4 years old. Whenever I would go to bed at night I would always hear these voices of a man and a woman talking and carrying on downstairs. So one night I decided to face it and go see if it was just my parents, but they were asleep when I checked. I quietly and slowly walk down the steps and peak around the corner and see nor hear anything at all. And later the next several weeks my Uncle would hear it too.

I can never keep my mind still, I constantly try but it never works. And sometimes it's just so overwhelming that I can't even think at all.

But it seems to happen more when I'm getting ready to go to sleep. Like a week ago I was in between awake and asleep and as clear as daylight I heard a little girl say into my ear "Help me get there!" and then a man a few seconds later "I'm going to get you!" And my eyes were still halfway open when I heard all of this, and I have no little sister or father.

The next day I was sitting on the couch after I got off of school just watching television when I started to dose off. Again right when I was about to fall asleep this loud whisper in my ear of a boy or girls voice (could tell) and I instantly awakened. At this point it was just getting annoying because I didn't understand what they all wanted from me.

Can anyone give me advice to control this better, or to understand what they are telling me.

I've always wanted to be like my great grandmother, a guide for helping spirits cross over to the other side.

Hi there! That happens to me, too! I can talk to spirits. I only just discovered it a few months ago, but I have helped 2 people so far, and I'm happy that I can, because I always felt sorry for the wandering dead. My friend, Freddie, says that most of them are very unhappy and anxious. I like to be able to help.

DestinySky: I've been hearing voices in my head for a while now. They're sometimes accompanied by images. I also hear them when I'm about to fall asleep, too. So you're not alone. The images and sensations scare me a little, though. But I don't think you have anything to be afraid of. If you need to talk to someone, I'm here. Good luck!

The in between state of consciousness and unconsciousness is when you're closest to being in tune with the spirit world. That is why you always hear it just before you fall asleep.

Hmm strange I can relate to being in the half awake state and hearing loud whispers in my ear. A few nights ago I heard a man talking to a woman and I was overhearing. Though I know my house isn't haunted I can't explain why I heard him, his voice echoeing in my head. Once I heard the door being knocked again in my half awake state, and I felt a other person on the other side and fear (great fear). As if the person on the other side was after me. I woke up thinking it was my door but it wasnt, I realized maybe I was experiencing something a other person was.

The house can have been built last week, no matter. They don't always come attached to a house. They can be attached to objects, places, people, and families (you catch my drift). And then there are those, you may be one too, that attract spirits. Because you hear do them, they flock to you like a moth to a flame, you are their light. This is a responsibility you have some experience with and apparently have been looking forward to taking on. Relax and settle into it at your pace, not theirs. Confidence is the key here, you must be certain in your own ability for it to be affective, you must have faith in yourself.
Since your Great Grandmother was a medium, it may have been passed on to you, who knows? But it yours for the taking now, so make the best of what you've been given.

Destiny, sometimes it doesn't matter if the house is new or not. The land itself, in the past, could have a history, as well. I would suggest looking up history of the land for a start.

Also, sometimes, it has nothing to do with the land at all, but more so of the factor of 'passing spirits and entities', which can attach or hang around you, for a multitude of reasons, whether they like your 'essence' or it could be an emotional factor.

Here's what I do with my ghosties that chill with me- I state ground rules. Talk in a firm voice and tell them that they are not to harm you or your family, and clearly state that you 'rule the roost'.

A good portion of the time, they'll be complacent with this, unless they're a negative entity. But... That's a whole new ballgame, so if I were you, I'd pay attention to the overall feel of their presence, as well as events that occur.

I get a feeling from what you've described that they're more than likely benevolent, so let's hope it stays that way.

Keep us updated and ask questions if something comes up, so we can provide our best advice.

But the house is new, how can that be possible? There was only 1 other family that lived in it and they are still living.

They are most likely showing you their past life in each spot you stayed in, maybe something will come up eventually...
