I've had this really weird ability for a while-I personally wouldn't count it as a 'stereotypical' ability. Like telepathy, or telekinesis, or seeing ghosts. It's the ability to know things about a person, or for lack of better word, learn more of their essence by looking at and feeling their hand.
It's complicated to explain, but I have no doubt in my abilities to read people. Most recently I read for a woman I babysat for, and I told her a lot of things she didn't tell others. I told her I knew she was gifted, that I knew she'd felt trapped in life, and other such private things.
I've read many people, and been more than decent in my readings. I'm more prone to drawing out information about their experiences of the past and their present connections rather than 'how many kids they'll have' or 'what's my destiny'.
I had one woman I read for at a party, and I told her things about how she had a reoccurring theme in her dreams, that she's had many sleeping problems, and even her thoughts on food! She later told her daughter that I'd freaked her out because I knew things I shouldn't have.
As I said, my ability is odd. Most psychic abilities center around a feeling, or seeing something others can't. For me, my ability works better when I see their hands and when I touch their hands. I almost never have to think about the information-it just rolls out of my mouth.
I don't really get a feel off objects, just people's hands, which makes me hesitate to label it as psychometry, the ability to absorb the past through the energy of objects, and I wouldn't classify it as an empathy either because it's not a matter of feeling, it's a matter of knowing what they felt. I have a poor sense of time, too. I can approximate distant future or past, or something closer to the present, but time isn't overly important when I read.
On top of that, I've never had any training or done research into reading hands through old methods, this is done entirely by intuition. I'm trying to better understand why I just suddenly know things, and why I have such odd limitations.
I'm really confused about this ability, so if anyone has similar abilities or can help me out it would be greatly appreciated!
