the high pitched ringing could be medical I'm going to consult my docter, but I will most definatly be "aware" of what is going on around that time, keeping a journal is a good idea. I have read once before, that a high pitched ringing is your guides sending you a message.
I tried once to tell the spirits to leave and the house felt lighter, but at times still I feel it strongly... I'm learning to not be scared, or let them dominate the house, its the noises that really get to me and the very strong presence, I live on my own with my young daughter and I get frightened easily, she does too (shes 4) she says there are bears that are scary in her room or in the hallway, she hates sleeping in her room and most mornings I wake to her next to me in my bed. Over active imagination?
I had the house blessed before I moved in, and I was told there was nothing in the house... Yet I feel there is.
I will tell them to leave again and see how that goes.

Ringing in ears is just a medical thing I think... Everyone gets it from time to time. I think it's called Tinnitus. It used to bother me a lot.
It's pretty common, look it up on wikipedia or something.
It could be psychic-related like Doublemint says, but I'm not you, so I can't tell for sure ^_^.

You aren't being paranoid, but you'll start thinking you are at this rate ^_^. People have a sort of Defense Mechanism against things they are reluctant to believe in. If an 'impossible' event doesn't happen more than once, then we are inclined to think we were imagining things and simply forget about it. It's hard to train yourself out of this habbit (at least it was for me...) But it is certainly worth trusting yourself.

As for spirits, you shouldn't be scared of them. They might seem scary at first, but spirits are under YOUR power. Being afraid of them gives them power over you in my experience. Ignoring them too.
If you want them to leave and you tell them to leave with FORCE... They will.

If symptoms persist then apply a hearty dose of holy water, and/or blessing.

I used to have problems with spirits in my house. I still have some cat-ghosts, but they don't really bother me anymore.

As for astrology, etc. Being evil, I'm Christian myself and don't believe so. I think they are tools that can be used for good or for evil. Tools aren't evil and arn't good. They simply help change the world. (Although, because of how I've been brought up, I don't mess with these things myself. I'd rather not know the future anyhow...it's boring...)

I feel you are tuning in to a higher frequency of awareness. Consider this also your guide may be coming through. I hear different sets of tones some low and high also a short ringing sound on occasion. Sometimes it triggers a vision I would keep a journal watch for synchronicities after you hear these sounds.

well I get that weird high pitched ringing in my ears too. I think that's just something to do with your ears or a weird kind of disease thing (not really a disease) =P.
About being able to tell people's emotions, that's called empathy. Also, knowing who it is on the phone and everything else is called premonition I'm pretty sure...
