Laughter From The Palms

I was sitting at the stairs, watching my father and brother discuss my father's departure back to the states. I was engrossed in listening to their conversation when suddenly I heard laughter.

I froze stiff in my position, because those laughter noises sounded like children playing as if they are running after each other. I imagined that they must be playing on a high spot.

Then I noticed this ornamental palm plant, which was placed next to the stairs. I have this gut feeling the sounds came from that plant.

I stared around me thinking it must be some slippers, sounding like some creaks from being stepped on. But I only saw my mother and she was wearing these simple flops. Hardly anything that would make some sounds like children's laughter.

Those sounds seem to be so very close to my ear. I told my mother about the sounds but she simply shrugged if off. I am in my forties so I do not think I must be imagining them. I was the only one who heard those sounds.

What is extraordinary about the laughter is that it did not come out as laughter from a normal child, but from some very small people.

I think you can speak with plants. Your instincts might caught the plant's attention. 😁

The same thing happened to me but it was my mother's laugh insted. I remember when my mother was gone out of the house and I was in the bathroom. I heard a clear laugh and it was my mothers laugh. I asked if my mom was there and she wasn't. I thought I was crazy, it was such a clear laugh... (it happened a few days ago).
