I see it too Rook. What the heck is up with that? 😕 When were all of them taken? When was the one on your profile taken?

ScorpioGirl,

Riddle me this... In your profile the 'torn features' are clearly on 'her' right cheek and yet in the pictures you just posted (4th one in particular) the 'torn features' are clearly on her left cheek. As both (all the) pictures are taken 'face on' I have to ask...

What?

I'm I nuts... I at first thought you had taken one of the pictures 'in the mirror' but after looking at them that does not seem to be the case. I'm I nuts... Does anyone else see this/have an explination for what I'm seeing?

Thank you for the background information as well...

Respectfully,

Rook

Oh and it was purchased from a flea market for really cheap. The woman said she got it from another flea market in a different state, I was really just trying to see if someone could read pictures or auras, like my sister. I can slightly sense pictures but I'm hoping I get better at that.

Sorry, I admit I got kind of aggravated. That is just what it just seemed like you were doing. Anyway here are some more pics and that (dawn series 9) had no similarities except the idea of a ripped face. If you look at the close up, you can see the teeth were chiseled in the porcelain and the red was hand painted. Http://i.imgur.com/cgBYv.jpg

ScorpioGirl,

The picture you have posted of the doll is an extreme close up of her face with most of the lighting coming from behind her... Between the way her face is framed in the picture and the lighting it makes for an intresting dramatic effect.

"This is a place for people that actually have these types of experiences to share them, not to try and prove something to sceptics."

I agree wth your above statment, this is a place to share these types of experiences, I am not questioning you because I do not believe you... I am questioning you so that I may better understand what may be happening with/around this 'object' or to you because of this object.

Let me re-phrase my questions...

When/where did you purchase her? (or was 'she' a gift?)

Were you told anything about 'her' background or has it all been revieled to you through your dreams?

I am not a sceptic... Far from it... Check my profile if you haven't already...

I do however question things rather than blindly accept them for I have seen way to many people mislead by 'false promises' and 'smoke and mirrors'. If it takes me being very Honest, Blunt and Sceptical about certian 'stories, peoples abilities and or their 'powers' to keep it from happening as I try to help those who come to this site with Honest questions, concerns or worries... Then so be it.

This is an antique porcelain doll, it isn't one of those new age rubber horror toys and Like it says in my about me, under her pic... She communicates through dreams. What dramatic lighting? This is a place for people that actually have these types of experiences to share them, not to try and prove something to sceptics.

well I do admit that I haven't been overseas
And the word seas scares the crap out of me.
So no I don't know much about costal places. But you never know it may have been a pawnshop. All that I really know is that I don't like that mask

AustinLJohnson,

I thank you for your opinion, but I must ask a simple question... Have your ever visited the Caribbean, been overseas or even out of Country?

If so you would realize that most shops near either the cruise ship docks or near the Hotels are almost exclusively Tourist Shops.

Yes it could have been a pawn shop, but the odds are in favor of the mask being a Souvenir rather than an authentic ritual mask...

ScorpioGirl,

Intresting picture, curious doll. How do you know 'her' background?

I ask because she reminds me of some of the Dolls that can be found on this web site...

(look at 'Dawn' in series 9...)

Is there any chance of getting a full body, face on picture of her... One without dramatic lighting and all that?

Respectfully,

Rook

What happened to her face is before I got Pandora, someone who practised black magic had her and tried to "change" her into something evil. It didn't work all the way because she was too strong and resisted, although it did effect her a little, like I said she can be pretty aggressive.
AustinLJohnson (56 posts)

May I ask what happened to pandora's face?
And I like this one better than the mask lol. But unless its attacking me in someway I can't feel things so I won't be much help on this one. But that one is just a bit creepy even for me. I don't think dolls are supposed to look that way.

Itabo have you read the Children of the RedKing series
If you haven't look it up. Youll like it. The main character's abilities are reading pics kind of like you. The first book is "midnight for charley bone" its a good series.

lol I need the negative removed from me. I have way too much as it is. I don't know, I think it all comes back just as soon as this mask sucks it away:\ I felt something when I first got it too, a dark "thing" but not really harmfull. I just always doubt myself and have to ask someone else to confirm it.

Sorry to be the killjoy Rook, but the type of shop was never mentioned but it would be nice to know what it was. I say this because it could have been a pawn shop. You never know what you'll find at one of those. Not to start an argument but I did get some feeling from that mask as you can tell from my previous posts. Dang thing sucks the negative energy from me. It really sucks.

ScorpioGirl,

Good job on your research, let's not forget that some masks are meant to 'scare' evil spirits away... Or even the Old tradition of them allowing safe passage on 'All Hollows Eve' where people who had to travel after dark would wear a mask so that the 'dead' would not harm them...

Sorry folks I'm not 'seeing / feeling' anything from this mask. You said yourself he found it in a shop near his hotel... After many trips overseas and to the Caribbean it's these shops that cater to tourists... This mask may be based on traditional design but was carved for the purpose to be sold to visitors.

May I ask a favor? Any chance of getting a straight on view of the mask? Your new one is good, but if possible I'd would like to 'look it in the eyes'. Thanks for the new picture and for keeping us updated.

Respectfully,

Rook

Wow I think I like it, now. Last night when I was taking the new picture, it made my lights flicker again, so I tried talking to it, asking yes or no questions. I said if yes make the lights flicker... It never did, but as soon as I stopped talking, it made them flicker, almost like it didn't want to communicate. It just wanted to show me what it can do... And TO: Bbdeathspark, my uncle got it from a shop in Jamaica last summer and he gave it to me about a week ago.

I too looked at Ghostgirl's Jamaican mask. It feels creepy to me, perhaps having been used for Black Magic by its original makers?
At least it is designed to evoke fear in those who see it, as many ghost masks for "pagan" rituals are, no matter if used and made in India, Africa, by tribes of Native Americans, or wherever.
And items that evoke such a ghostly fear in you are no good to be owned by you. That's all you gotta know for doing the right thing. The question whether it "really" is inhabited by some demon is secondary, a matter of "scientific research" not of practical dealing with masks, idols, or whatever thing that has a creepy "vibration" to its owner. This applies to everybody who has such an item at home.

I'd just try to sell such a weird antique via ebay to some collector or museum, use the dollars gained thus for a nice party with good vibes and good friends, and forget it then.

yep the mask "eats" negative energy like "evil" and "anger" the responses just confirm it for me. But you decide for yourself

White light I associate with divine power and pink is a mix of white and blood or human lifeforce. Perhaps the spirit has passed over to heaven now where as it was wandering in the hungry ghost and hell realms before? Its negative Karma was 'eaten" and now is talking to God in heaven?

Until someone proves otherwise that is what I chose to believe about the mask. Feel free to give a disenting opinion. Oh the sister site published my story about the church and our angel encounter, its linked to my profile for those interested.

Gotta go shopping for food and church.

May the peace of the Lord be with you, and that Light of life light your way as you travel through this world.

Peace, light and love

Darkstar, at the mouth, did you see what almost looks like to be teeth? Its almost at the edge of the mouth of the mask, and if you look closely, it almost appears to be an ex-ray of teeth.
Pretty interesting, if you ask me.

ScorpioGirl, we must have posted at the same time, lol!

What you found out about the masks is true. In a lot of cultures, the most prominent being African, instead of emulating a single portrait, oftentimes masks and other works would symbolize attributes as a whole.
An example would be the attribute of strength, which can be shown in a multitude of ways, such as the rams horn.

Keep up the good work of doing research, and I'll try to help in any way I can.

Au Revior. 😊 ❤

ScorpioGirl, I still see what appears to be an eye through the mask! Another interesting thing about it is the rim of where the mask touches the paper. Its almost as if instead of having a shadow, it has a whitish/pink aura.

I have to agree, it would be nice to have haunted objects around, but ever since my Cabbage Patch doll dream and hearing about Robert the Doll, from South Florida, I'll let you keep the dolls, lol!

If you'd like, I'll go through my art history books and other sources to try and find the history on the masks, or if I can, find a replica of your mask, and see what it was used for.

Au Revior. 😊 ❤

Ok so I looked up Jamaican masks and mask significance and this is something interesting I found: Many societies see masks as mediators between the living world and the supernatural world of the dead, ancestors and other entities. Masks became and still become the attribute of a dressed up dancer who gave it life and word at the time of ceremonies.
In producing a mask, a sculptor's aim is to depict a person's psychological and moral characteristics, rather than provide a portrait.

My uncle said he found it in a shop a little ways away from his hotel, I don't know if it was used for rituals or made with an intended purpose. I did put it on a flat white background for you, though. See if that helps. I have lots of haunted items, most of them being dolls. It's pretty nice, I like having them around me.

HI Itabu: I was never very good with pictures or nonliving things. Its interesting you got so close both times. I'm still trying to separate truth from fiction when it come to messages from the psychic world. This medium thing is new and unsettling thing. I think I prefer empathy and trying to figure out what thoughts are associated with people's emotions. Anyway it was interesting reading your story. Thanks for sharing.

Peace light and love may they find happiness in your heart.

Rook has a good point, ScorpioGirl. Try putting the mask on several different backgrounds to get a clearer shot. You also might want to use several different lighting options. As a photography student, I have a bit of experience about how lighting and background can play a role in making it 'appear' to have certain things seem to pop out at the viewer.

Either way, haunted or not, I'd keep the mask if I were you. It may just be my personal opinion, but I think it would be lovely to own a haunted object. It just adds on to the quirky history, lol.

I would also once more suggest that you look into traditional mask uses within the area that it was purchased. There could even be the possibility that this mask was made for retail only, but there's always that one other possibility.

Thanks for keeping us updated, although I hope Itabu doesn't mind if we use their page, lol.

ScorpioGirl,

Is there anyway of getting a clearer picture of this mask on a flat white background?

I ask because I think the cloth it's on is causing shadows around / underneath it which may be causing 'matrixing' (when your 'mind' attempts to make sense of random patterns by 'creating' a familiar pattern.

I think what is creeping people out is how the mask itself looks. Do you know what it was made for... Is it an actual 'ritual' mask or something made for tourist?

Thank you for sharing this with us and keep the feedback coming.

Respectfully,

Rook

can you tell if it is an evil spirit? Another person on this site told me it had a dark spirit energy attached, but that it doesn't mean it's evil. She said that it might "eat" or destroy evil. And I put it over my face a couple times, so the brown eyes with white around them could have been mine lol maybe you picked up on that, or it somehow attached to me, since I put it over my face. Maybe that's why you see two faces? Hmm

Scorpio, I looked at the mask and I did see a face, in fact when I look at it I see two eye with dark brown pupils and the white around them. Also, I see a paritcal decomposed face basically no noise nor lips. I did alittle arua thing on it and I saw red followed by yellow followed by a lime green, if that helps.

Hey ScorpioGirl! Since you don't have an email up or a story, I'm going to have to post a comment about the picture you needed help with.

It does appear that there is a little reddish line that crosses from the outer corner of the right eye (from the direction its facing), and it trails off into the background.
You may want to ask about where it was bought, and I'd also suggest looking up the traditions on the mask. In a lot of cultures, especially African and Japanese ones, masks play a significant role in personality, as well as spirituality. I would assume the same for locations in the Caribbean, as well.
Hope that sheds some light on the situation.
I would love to read a story about your mask, and what you've found out.

I think it's a combination if remote viewing and empathy. Remote viewing usuly only let's you see the place, but your actualy feeling the emotions behind it. You are very gifted, and if you have any questions, please email me.

Dear Itabu,

When I read this, I immediately thought of Remote Viewing...

But as I thought about it, this also sounds like Clairvoyance.

"The term clairvoyance (from 17th century French with clair meaning "clear" and voyance meaning "vision") is used to refer to the ability to gain information about an object, person, location or physical event through means other than the known human senses."

Sound like it, doesn't it? 😊

Well, actually I find that very helpful, wow because I didn't know what clairsentience meant even though it means "clear feel" I didn't know it meant to feel the energy and what else surrounds objects and places as well. That is really wonderful. I think I can make some more progress to increase my abilities with that information. I understand about labels as well, so thank you a lot for the information.

I'm not honestly sure sense I don't know you first-hand. But it seems you have emapthic abilties and some calirsentience as well. But I also think you shouldn't get carried away over labels. Just look within yourself and try to find the truth. I know that's not the answer you're looking for, but I wish you all the best.
