Feel Other's Emotions

I have had several what is considered psychic phenomenon's as a young child. I have found now that I am older those experiences have continued and now experience others. For example, I can be around someone and (as strange as it sounds) feel their emotions. When I first paid attention to what was happening it was like all this information was coming at me and I could feel it. If they felt depressed I would sense it etc. It would be ok if everyone was happy all the time, but I feel the bad things as well with people. I guess I have made it a point when I feel the "information" start to occur I just shut that part off and ignore it. I find myself however wanting to better understand it. I have never discussed these current and or past experiences with other people as I don't want to be labeled a "freak". As a child I remember seeing people who were deceased and feeling emotions then. I also have had several instances of seeing things that has not happened. Those instances are very strong now that I am an adult. The best way I know to explain when I see "future" events is like a vision and or dream. The most disturbing vision I had involved my brother. In my vision/dream it was as though all my senses were in place. I could feel, smell, hear etc. It started with seeing my brother sitting around a camp fire with his fellow soldiers. They were talking about how much they missed having McDonald French fries. I was walking around them at the fire. I remember feeling panicked and danger. It was so strong it literally made me nauseated. I was trying to tell them to be careful and not to go, but they could not hear me. The vision/dream then changed to seeing my brother driving in a jeep. There was a flash of yellow/orange light then I saw my brothers face covered in blood. I woke up in a panic and very upset. I was literally sick from it. My brother was deployed at the time to Iraq. I spoke to my husband about the dream/vision and told him I was scared. I did not mention it to my family as I did not know what it meant. I did not want to warn them about something that I was not even sure about myself. It was 2 weeks later that our family received notification that my brother was injured by a roadside bomb in Iraq. The blast from the explosion occurred when he was driving a jeep. He had glass embedded in his face and was covered in blood. I found this information out from his friend who found him. My brother was at a hospital in Bagdad for 3 days before I could speak to him. When I did, he told me the same thing. He also told me that he could not wait to get back home to us. He also stated that he missed having McDonalds French fries and was talking to his other soldiers about that before the blast occurred. Since that point I have ignored and have done everything to avoid getting anymore of those visions/dreams. If I feel something like that getting ready to occur I will change it or just will it away. I think it is fair to say that I don't want to see bad things like that again. I work in the legal field and can discern factual information. I just have not been able to come to a definitive answer as to what I am experiencing. Any suggestions?

i can relate too! Me and my friend admitted to each other about our abilitys and this was one of them. I'm still young (12) and i've been like this since I was about 6. I can feel depression, happiness and more especially if someones hurt.

Hey, I really enmjoyed your story and I can really relate to you a whole lot. I have the same abilities as you as well and I'm really learning a lot about myself and embracing it as well. And I would have to agree with the other people who have commented; just accept yourself and don't think of it as a bad thing because if you have these gifts, there must be a reason for it right?:)

Thank you everyone for your comments. It means a lot to know that 1) that I am not alone 2) that my experiences does have an explanation. For so long now I thought I was cursed or just an overly sensitive person. It feels good to know what I have actually has a name & that it is not a bad thing. I am in the process now of trying to find information on how to control it & better understand it. I think back on things and realize my grandmother may have had the same ability. However, like many things that are considered "different" it was never discussed.

Not strange at all. You are what we in the psychic world call an "Empath". I, too, am an Empath. We are the healers of the emotional realm. We can sense and feel how other people feel past all the superficial layers of the human psyche, and ultimately bring these emotions to a head to help heal the individual. That is why many Empaths become psychiatrists, counselors and therapists, artists (dancers, singers, actors, etc.), and so on. As for having visions, you are also very strongly Clairvoyant. Clairvoyance is the psychic ability to see energies, spirits, visions, etc. Not many who claim to be, are truly Clairvoyant. It really is a gift that you have. Use it. Develop it. Embrace it. It is you and you cannot run from yourself. It's like trying to run from your arm, or your leg; pointless and a huge waste of your personal energy. Don't ever give up on your abilities, for they will serve you in a very big way one day. You've already gotten a taste of that, anyway.

It sounds like you are very strong with your Empathy, you are an empath. Also, I do believe you are also getting extremely good with your clairvoyance and Clairsentience. Never take these as bad, they are a gift and never be ashamed of them.

Sounds like you are a "Clair"
Clairaudience- clear hearing
Clairsentience- clear knowing
Clairvoyant- clear seeing
Clairalience- clear smell

Energy is shared and has no geographical boundries to the "sensitive" person.
