Seeing The Future In My Dreams

My name is Abby and I am 16 years old. When I was little (I can't remember how little I was) I started having these weird dreams. They were different from my normal dreams or nightmares I had. They are only 5-10 second dreams. I normally brushed it aside like it was a coincidence. Then one night I had this dream where me and my dad were riding in the truck listening to this song, when I woke up I tried to think of the song I had never heard it before and it did not sound familiar. I tried looking for it everywhere no luck. A month went by and I totally forgot about the dream, until I was riding in the truck with my dad and that song came on and at the exact part that I saw in my dream happened in real life it hit me like a train I felt really weird like I had been here before.

This is what usually happens when I have these weird future memories. I tried to look up what was going on it was coincidence or something else. For about six months I had none of these dreams until a few days ago. I had a dream with me and what look like older versions of my close friends and three little kids. It felt the same as the other dreams like this. This one was different though, it was way further in the future and more important than other ones I had.

I decided to dig deeper until I found this website. I want to know if I am going crazy or if something is actually going on here. If anyone knows what this is or has the same thing I do. I want to know what to do with it. I am definitely not a type of person to believe in this type of stuff but I just want to know what it is.

Hello. It's great to hear that someone is experiencing the same situation as me. I have these dreams, usually not long, that will be random events. I have even seen people in these dreams that I have never met, yet I will be talking to them like I know them. Usually I brush them off, thinking maybe it's just a face I've seen before or someone that my brain has just made up. However, I have had experiences in which I see these dreams happen in my life. I would forget about them, until I see it happen. It will be exactly how I seen it in my dream. I will see the event and realize that the random person in my dream is now someone that I know. It's a very strange occurrence, and I find it very interesting. I may start writing down dreams that I can remember, and I will see if they happen. I don't believe there is a way to control them, they just happen. It may be a month, or it may be a year before I see a dream become real. Until then, I can only keep guessing.

Hello Abby, the phenomenon is called having "deja vu". I have had this issue since I was about 8 or 9ish years old. For me it is VERY random. Tonight I could dream about a 30 second moment that will happen later the same day, or tomorrow I'll deal with a 20min event I dreamt when I was 13 years old (I'm 40 years old now). Never can tell. It's very hard to control and would take up most of your time trying and attemping to research. It's also hard to research because most of the scientific community believes that deja vu is your brain creating a false memory. This doesn't make sense to me, but a lot of todays scientists will not believe something that they can not control, produce or invoke in a lab. If they can not see it, it didn't happen and your crazy or have a brain disorder. Those of us that have experienced this first hand, over and over during our life time know it all to well to be a real event that some how allows us to see a small glimpse into the future during our REM sleep cycle. I get on here when I am able, but if you have any questions I will do my best to help you out. Take care. 😁
