Hearing High Pitch Tones

I often hear high pitch tones in my ears/head. Sometimes the tones are slightly different and sometimes I can detect more than one tone at a time. Even though there is nothing in the room to cause this that I know of, because it happens wherever I am. I have kind of just learned to live with it. Sometimes the tones are weak and I can ignore it. Other times they can be very loud and I have to just deal with it as if it were a passing headache until it goes away. Sometimes (like now I am in a quite room- no TV or anything) it's very distracting! Sometimes it's like the "volume" of the pitch is turned up and down too.

I've started embracing and trying to practice my clairvoyant gift and visions. I am now wondering if these "tones" have anything to do with some sort of other psychic "gift"? If so, is it just coming across as tones because I haven't developed it yet or am I interpreting it wrong? As far as I am aware I have no physical ear problems. I have always passed physicals and hearing checks.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I can't find much info on the internet regarding the topic. And there is very few physical hearing problems that involve high pitches. But I am pretty sure I don't have them. Any answers or comments are appreciated!

I hear them constantly yet sporadically. High tones, lows and mids. What I'm about tot tell you became automatic thinking for me. High tones, someone is talking to you through their minds. Low tones, you are being talked about. Mids, your name is mentioned. For some reason I have known this idea since I was child. The first time it happened I told my mom and dad. I went had my hearing checked and everything was normal. Today was a high pitch and then my phone rang. It was my girlfriend calling to say hi. I told her I knew she was going to call. That was automatic thinking. I could be wrong about the whole idea but I've never been wrong about calling someone on it. Low tones. Yes, I have asked a few close friends if I was talked about recently and the answer was YES. Creeped me out at the time because I knew it. I never bothered worrying about the Mid tones. To me, my name came up in a conversation in passing. There was no need to dwell on that. All these tones were only questioned once in my life, when I was child. Now I just treat it as a normal makeup of my mind.

Hi mags! I just came across this, I understand it is 5 years old and many have already responded to your experience. I quickly read through what others had to say before adding anything, not wanting to duplicate advice &/or opinion.
I'll start by saying we have this in common. I hear high pitched sounds and have sense childhood. Before finding this wonderful site or any other type of support I started researching different abilities I have. I dug up some helpful literature a couple of years back about high pitched sounds. This is what's true for me, Maybe it's the same for you and you are aware now being your post is 5yrs old?! However, Tried and true "for me",& my opinion/belief, this is what I found and self taught to successfully get it under control. OK here goes:

The high pitch sounds you are hearing is your Guide/s or Angele/s trying to communicate by Speaking directly to you. Being they are on a different frequency we hear these high pitched sounds instead of the voices they truly are. The next time you hear this, try to ask them to lower their voice. Let them know you can hear them you just can't make it out. Sometimes when they speak to us they forget to slow down & lower their voice to a frequency we can hear, "Especially in times of excitement or immediate danger". When I ask this of my Guides I usually hear the intended message within a few minutes.
I'm interested to know if you experience this too. If not, have you heard this theory before?
I hope to hear back from you, or at the very least, I hope it helps you or someone else.
Message me anytime! Good luck on your journey and experiences.

Mags, Please rule out hearing issues I know I have hearing loss and have been hearing all type of ringing in my ears for many years and found out at least some of it may be due to tinnitus. I always get migraines if someone is playing loud base just down the street and I don't even realize or hear it I usually find out that is what is causing my migraine since I don't hear the music itself but am very, very sensitive to the base. I can only tell the base is causing it since when I walk outside someone is thumping their music. It will wake me up from a deep sleep and will not let me sleep when this type of migraine starts up. Even drums cause problems. I do live in a relatively quite location.

Starlight95 - Glad you have an appointment with a Dr. For hearing test because you really need to rule out hearing issues there.

But I have to admit learning about this does cause me to question about how much or loud the ringing can become at times.

In the past I've have walked in a Walmart Store at Schenectady, NY and walk in the store and heard a loud pitch in my ears that made me drop down because it was so loud. Then another time when I walked in at Walmart at the same spot it happened again. Both times it happened, nobody else seemed to of heard anything.
Then again in a park, there was a man that I felt that wasn't safe. Two time later, when this man would enter the park my ears would act up. So I felt as it was some kind of a survival thing. I felt as if I could pick up on bad vibes, off of possibly a dangerous person. So I learned to pay attention to my surrounding when it happens.
Again, I was in the park and my ears again had this high frequency sound, so I just waited to see what or who would show up. Because this sound in my ears happened again, made me drop to my knees. This time it wasn't a man but'three fire trucks were driving through the park.
Now for about a month or longer, I first heard and could feel a loud vibration in my right ear for about one minute while I was with my boyfriend but he heard nothing. Now'I'm experiencing this vibration and like a humming noise in my ear. Sometimes it louder then other times. I specially notice it when I'm around car that are driving or around machines when my ears act up.
Then one day recently I walked out of a building, you would of thought that there would of been helicopters all around the building, but I could'nt see anything and it was loud.
I did tell my doctor he gave me medication and nothing has changed so he made am appointment for a ear doctor.
So hopefully there is nothing wrong with my ears. I just felt I am being very sensitive to sound like the animals. It would be nice if my ears would let me know if danger is near so I could act.

NagualJef,

I went back to review the other comments and saw this is actually a fairly old experience... But I'll address this to you and anyone else who may be interested...

There is a 'natural cause' for some high pitched tones the ear's may 'hear'...

Tinnitus is the word used to describe hearing certain phantom sounds. Tinnitus is not a disease. Rather it is generally a symptom of something wrong in your auditory system. The dictionary defines tinnitus as the sensation of noise, often ringing or roaring, in your ears that comes from inside your head in the absence of any external sound.

So please before running around thinking this is a sign that your becoming a psychic... Telepathic or any other possible 'Paranormal' explanation one must eliminate all possible 'normal' possibilities. I'm not saying that 'all cases' are not 'Paranormal' but please do the research into natural possibilities.

Remember..."when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." Sherlock Holmes...

Respectfully,

Rook

To all who wish to know I started hearing a single high frequency tone over twenty years ago, and I can remember a reoccuring dream with a silence which is so loud no other sound can be heard.
Now I have focused on this sound and found it to be the bottom of a octave, when I use my WILL to push the sound upwards, I find that the top of the tone is really just the bottom of the next tone.
I have gone through nine different tone levels and each time what seems to be the top note, becomes just the bottom of the next tone.
I now hear all nine tone at the same time, and they can get very loud. The closest thing I have found is that Frequency 528 is a octave within a nine tone music scale. The sound ranges I hear are 174,285,396,417,528,639,741,852,963. These notes are actually comprised of three sets of similar notes. Each set contains the same numbers like 174,417,741 as you can see these three notes have simliar numbers
Picture three triangles in the first one is the 174's
The next is the 285's and the third is the 369's
The difference between each note is the same and is 111.
When I reach the higher octaves of sound I have out of body experiences, I also hear songs and then turn on the radio to hear the same song. I sometimes see the future and I know that Man is the conciousness of the Earth, we are the planet itself in the form of man.
The best book I found was written by Barbara Handclow and is called the Alchemy of the Nine Dimensions.

This happened to me twice last week
I'm only 13
I was sitting in class and a sharp high pitched noise was first in my right ear. Then a few days later it was in both of my ears and it was very distracting and it bothered me. It only lasts about 40 seconds at most when it happens to me. I'm not sure what's causing it either.

This happens to me too. I'm only 13 years old, 14 in a month.
It happens often when I'm at school sitting in class, a sharp high pitched noise, sometimes in my right ear, sometimes my left ear, and sometimes in both. When its in both, it bothers me. People give me weird looks when I react, but nobody knows what's happening. The longest it has been going on for is about a minute and half. Its not something in the class making the noise, since I'm the only one that reacts and notices it. I also don't have anything wrong with my ears, I go for a check up regularly. Your not the only one experiencing this

Hey everyone, I've been having the same ringing in my ears since I can remember, but it was always very constant as I was growing up. It's usually not that strong, but it is noticeable in a quiet environment. It's my belief that it's just us being able to hear our own auric fields and whatever may affect them on a daily basis. There is another option though; we arre living in some crazy times. Some believe that the earth is on a process of ascending. Does anybody believe that it could be that? The earth interacting with our auric fields to produce these sounds?

Hi There,
I'm not sure what to make of a strange experience I had last night. I was laying on the couch watching the movie "Stranger Than Fiction" that was playing on cable TV, I think it was around 2am. I was fully awake.
During the scene where Will Ferrell is eating a fresh baked cookie for the first time I heard a very strange high pitched tone in my left ear. Mixed in with this high pitched tone was some sort of strange distorted sound which I want to say may have sounded like some weird language like a robotic sound? I don't know how else to describe it. It sounded very distinct from the high pitched tone and it lasted maybe 5 seconds. I've heard high pitched tones in my ear before but nothing like this. This was very distinct and very different. Right after this tone when away two strange text boxes popped up, one behind each character in the scene. The one behind Maggie Gyllenhaal was a larger text box with a tab at the top while to one behind Will Ferrel was a thinner box with no tab. Both boxes had round edges and were outlined in white and had strange white text in them that looked like symbols I've never seen. There was no background to the boxes so I could see through them and they followed the backs of each actor. The boxes were just floating behind them. If the actors tilted in their movement, the boxes tilted with them. All of this including the high pitched tone lasted within 10 seconds and then just stopped. I do not drink or do drugs and I was not falling asleep or sleep deprived. I was fully awake and aware. I don't know what to make of this and it's really freaking me out. Can anyone please help me figure this out?

Wow, I wish I had more time to write... This is probably the third time I've searched to find some sort of commonality or something to explain the hi/low frequencies in my ears. I won't use the word, hear because it doesn't really seem as if I'm hearing them it's more like their just there. I believe I've been experiencing these since childhood as I remember asking people if they could here what I hear, but they never did. I remember also walking into stores and still do, where the pitch of electronics is so high it hurt my ears and my head... But I believe that was wholly different. As I've gotten older the inner frequencies have become more constant... But never annoying... Sometimes it's just a very gentle, pretty high pitched frequency that comes in and out... Other times it can be very strong... My ears will mute to what is around me and the frequency sound will come in strong and deep and then fade off... Sometimes there can be several levels of tones coming in and out... Usually it's my right ear, but at times my left also and sometimes back and fourth. For a long time I thought I was picking-up thoughts or conversations by family members... Or boyfriend... As my cell would ring or if I sent a text I would hear strong pitched frequencies in realizing they were reading my text... Maybe crazy idea? I don't know, although I am so happy to see so many others questioning this, I really wish I could know what it is... The older I get the more I think I'm suppose to realize something or maybe it's a gift I'm to tap into more deeply than just family and freinds... I really don't speak of this to anyone as I don't want to seem lulu. But as a young child and teen I had things that happened... Like being forewarned of danger or being able to know things a head of time less dangerous, I knew my grandfather past in a deam before I was told... As the dream was very detailed... Among a few other experiences. I often have dreams of a male Native American singing when times are tough along with injured or running animals. I also had an out of body experience during a surgery three years ago that I remember as if it were yesterday, it wasn't scary at all, it was actually pretty amazing, however, I don't want to experience it again. I wish I knew what it was all about. I know that I'm extremely senstitive to atmospheres and peoples feelings and hurts but I have no answers... I suppose I will stay on this journey and maybe someday put the puzzle together. I know it all sounds like a lot but I really want to learn. If anyone has any thoughts I'm very open to hear. Oh wow I wrote a after all...

Thank you,
Freddi

I always had this tone in my ears, sometimes accompanied by a secondary tone that is sometimes higher or lower that will come on suddenly then fade leaving me to my usual constant "ringing in the ears".

However I have neurofibromatosis PLUS I had a couple of really serious ear infections as a child so for me I do not have the luxury of attributing these annoyances to anything special.

However I am sometimes apt to think that as our world is inundated, more and more, with cell phone towers and other devices which emit stronger and stronger frequencies that it is possible our bodies detect this and part of it manifests as this ringing in the ears.

Hi everyone, I'm quite new to all this, I also been experiancing the high pitch sound inside me from when I was about 14 years old and its started when I started medidating alot, and now I hear it 24/7 it varies from time to time, I also find that the sound induces visions too, and each time I pray or meditate I notice that the pitch gets higher, I'm not really scared of it or bothered by it cause it actually gives me a sense of peace inside as it has the effect of clearing my mind and helping me to just ease off, I just feel comfortable knowing there other people out there with the same experience, id love to hear a lot more of year experiences as I'm also still trying to fully understand it all.

I have also had this "ringing" in my ears off and on for the last 15 years. My boyfriends believes that this has some significance as far as being psychic or at least very sensitive. I'm not sure what this means but it seems that quite a few other people experience this. It is also nice to hear that other people have had episodes of hearing their name called as they fall asleep. I have had this happen uncountable times.
Nice to hear I'm not alone.

Most of my life I too have experienced this high-pitched frequency. It's as if a television is on and you can sense it. It sort of gets stronger and weaker/ low and high if that makes any sense. I remember being able to sense and hear this my whole life. I would ask people around me if they too could pick up on it and they have no idea what I am talking about. It's not like it's an audible tone, or a ringing like after you go to a concert. It's a frequency. Today was the first day I decided to do a little investigating and it brought me here. I've been thinking that it's some sort of frequency that you have to focus on in some way and your mind can decipher it into something than what it is. Would love to hear more thoughts aside from the inner ear damage, because its not a tone, or a ringing; it's definitely a frequency. Thoughts?

Dear Maggie
I experienced the same ringing for the first time last night when it was super quiet in my bed

Following this, I heard a voice of someone yelling you "get out" numerous times. I don't know if it was a warning from someone or anything like that because today I was a passenger in a car accident. I wasn't hurt but still... I don't know. This is all so weird. I don't typically believe in these things but as of lately, science has not been able to answer MANY of my questions. -Angela

I started overtone singing about 6 months ago (im 21 now), and I found that it really calmed me down. But since I started doing it more often now I hear random ringing as if the dentist is using that grinding machine at its highest speed.
I know from far distances when someone turns on certain TVs or monitor type objects because its unbearable. I have always been able to detect pitchs with extreme precision but its gone up to an octive where it can almost be painfull.
I was sitting in class the other day and this super high kettle boiling sound came outta nowhere and I asked people but everyone was like " what are you talking about?" almost felt like they were playin a joke since the sound was so obvious. It helps to tune into the sound when preparing to channel though.
Sorry if this all sounds self centered but I feel like I need to be completley honest so that some one can explain to me wether the overtone singing has damaged my ears or if it has opened a vestegial ability?

when I was younger, my ears would ring right before the apparition of an old civil war era doctor would appear in my bedroom. The old house where my parents still live is undoubtedly haunted...many, many experiences there by myself, my siblings, and my parents... Years later, as a young adult, I would experience this same thing--the ears ringing--and would literally feel as if I was floating outside my body... Tonight on the BIO channel and their psychic kids segment, there was a young girl who described her ears ringing immediately before encountering spirits...so, my conclusion would be that there is a definite connection...

Hi all, When I was a child, I first encountered the high-pitched sounds that many of you are talking about. I usually only hear them when someone is coming. This is before they walk into a room, before they walk down a hallway or past a room etc. It is like an early warning system, I hear the shift in frequency or note in general and I look up and sure enough, someone will come in. They don't make any noise to give away that they are there.

I have thought about it often and often conclude that perhaps it's a change in electromagnetic interference that I hear. But that would also mean I would hear the sounds all the time as all electric currents emit EM fields.

On the subject of hearing, I don't believe I hear it with my ears though, not like a dog whistle or anything but sort of in my head:) Strange indeed:)

Regards,

Brady

Hi Maggie,
Seems a lot of us are on the same wavelength. Just a few nights before I was thinking about these high pitched tones I hear and wondered if anyone else ever experienced them. (Synchronicity happens quite a bit in my life.) So with that being said I will tell you how they affect me.
Usually it has to be very quiet for me to focus in on the tone. It's almost like a magnetic attraction for my consciousness. If I am lying in bed, I can actually feel it "pull" me out of my body. It's like a stream or string, no maybe a loose woven cord coming out near the top of my head and gently pulled to the side away from my physical body which usually results in an OBE, however I don't remain conscious in my OBE for very long. Most times this is pleasurable. Sometimes it happens and I can feel another being nearby. No this is not my guide. There is a malevolent feel to this being but I have yet to actually see them. On the other end of the spectrum, if my husband is snoring away deeply and very low pitched, (like the other night when he was suffering from a nasty sinus cold) I have repeated nightmares over and over until I wake myself up and go sleep in another room. Most times his normal pitched rhythmic snoring just lulls me to sleep. One other odd experience. Years ago at a rock concert I was very near to the speakers. The drums were really loud and noticeable. I started getting pulled out of my body and had to grab onto a nearby pole as I was crumpling to the ground. Needless to say after I moved towards the back of the venue, I felt closer to normal again. Sorry about the length of this. Ursala

I was researching this a minute ago and found a site where people were discussing the meaning of ringing ears. This is the best of the posts that I read:

--------

I've had sporatic ear tones throughout my life, but the issue became so prevalent during 2002, due to what I was involved with in life, that I created an entire section of my log book devoted solely to documenting it. The log book contained the following information, if possible:

The date and exact time the ringing/tone happened;
Which ear it occurred in;
What the tone sounded like, (high, low, strong, faint, short lived, long lived and going on and on, tuning fork, hum, etc.);
Whether there was any muting involved, and physical after effects;
What exactly I was doing/saying at the time it happened. What was I thinking about? Who was I talking to? Where was I?
Through documenting this information, I was able to determine over enough time that these ear tones are definitely not random, nor the result of a natural, biological problem with my ears, and most definitely did point to some external situation happening. I was also able to determine that there was a difference in meaning for right ear versus left ear. For me, the left ear has been negative, usually indicating straight up monitoring, or warning me that something is "off" about a person or situation, while the right was positive, sometimes seeming to confirm or reaffirm something I'm thinking or reading. In fact I just came across a reference to ear tones in the book Masquerade Party at Secret Canyon by Jeannine Marie Steiner. The book is one psychic woman's personal experiences into the realm of abductions, mind control, and MILAB harassment, and on page 73 she says:

"On my way back to Ventura, I drove past Pt. Mugu Naval Base. Stopping at the red traffic light, suddenly, in my left ear I got a very loud ringing noise. To a psychic that's a strong warning that means something is very, very wrong. It means red alert. (Ringing in the left ear is a warning and ringing right ear is positive.) "
------------

Thought that might be of interest...
Here's the site I found that clip from:

WOW this is pretty awesome! I am glad there are so many that hear the tones! It's been great reading the responses! And I find it weird that none of us can find anything logical or explainable online about this!

This is very interesting (ears ringing right now!) LOL 😁

Hi Maggie! I too have been experiencing this, I typically have the tones that kind of sway from hi to low like QE. Usually in both ears, however I was out and about over this past weekend shopping and upon entering a store my right ear began to sound off like never before and with that I had a HUGE amount of pressure behind my ear. Just like I get with my psychic eye. I thought it could have been just an ear ache at the time because it lasted for quite awhile, but since I have been hearing these tones more than ever and I noticed that a couple of times since that my dogs have perked up when I too heard it! So...don't know if this helps but atleast we know we're not alone in this!Lol

Much Light & Love To Ya! 😁

It looks like a lot of us have this in common. Personally, I have noticed that there's a noticeably louder ring in my right ear every now and then, which almost always occurs when I'm in my room. The amount of times it has been occuring has gone up a lot, and the volume is what bothered me, too. I concentrate on good feelings and thoughts, and also try to reflect on what state of mind I was in or what I was thinking at the time of the occurance. Usually I don't find any significance in the occurance.
The fact that it happens in my bedroom, where I've been experiencing a lot of strange phenomena, makes me think that it has to do with me tuning up, tuning in, or something.
I tried to research the topic as well, and am really excited to see that you wrote about this, mags.

We should all keep brainstorming what this means!
