To start with I just wanted to let everyone know I am an empath. I feel people's feelings whenever I'm around them. I have a few stories to tell you through out my childhood to explain my problem now. Both my mom and dad told me a story about when I was baby, they were living in a house in Upstate New York and it was too hot to sleep upstairs so they slept downstairs with me in the living room. I woke up in the middle of the night crying, so my mom got up and walked into the bathroom with me to change my diaper. While she was in the bathroom she saw a figure cut out the light like it was walking by but when she walked out into the living room my dad was still asleep. She shrugged it off and fed me a bottle. As she was feeding me she felt like something was sitting behind her staring at her, she ignored the feeling and finished feeding me and put me back in my crib. She laid down and my dad said "grab the babies things and go out the front door now" my mom didn't ask any questions and they left. My dad told her on their way to a friends house that he turned over to see what she was doing and there was a gargoyle looking creature sitting behind her looking like it wanted ME. Like it was waiting for my mom to put me down. After that we moved out of the house.
Eventually my mom and dad got a divorce and my mom, my sister, and I moved to another house in New York. The only other paranormal thing that had happened when I was younger that I can remember (other than my empath deal) was I went upstairs and walked past my moms room and saw a glowing figure standing at the end of her bed. She wasn't in her room or anything but this figure turned and looked at me and I hid in the bathroom, a few minutes later I looked in the room again and it was gone. The best way I could explain this to my mom was that it was like "a glowing mummy" It almost looked like it was draped in white pieces of something like bandages. I never had another experience in that house for as long as we lived there.
When I was 16 1/2 (I'm 20 now), my sister, mom, and her husband were all living in a brand new house we had built in Florida. At first there was nothing at all weird about the house. Not until my mom got sick was there anything paranormal. My mom was diagnosed with lung cancer around Christmas time. A little too late I'm afraid because there was nothing anyone could do to help her. After that I started to see shadow figures. Short ones mostly, like children or animals. I know when I was very little my mom called her animal spirit and it was a cat, I don't know if this has anything to do with the shadow figures but just thought I'd throw it in there. Only ever out of the corner of my eye until one night, I was sitting in my bed watching t.v. And I saw clear as day this dark figure run across the foot of my bed INTO the wall. It was very short and very quick. The next morning I told my mom but she thought I was seeing things. Also around this time things started coming up missing and then reappearing (like jewelry, car keys, etc).
Skipping ahead... After I turned 17 my mom was taking some pills and undergoing some pretty intense chemotherapy sessions so I moved out of my house to give her my room because she had to be isolated from everyone else. About four months later she was off chemotherapy and basically just waiting to die, the cancer had spread throughout her whole body and she couldn't sleep at night because she was always coughing up blood. My grandmother (who had her mother die of lung cancer while she was taking care of her) told me that my mom was going to go soon and I should really spend the night with her. That night my mom was sitting in her chair that she always sat in and I was laying in the bed. She started mumbling something so I asked her what she had said. She said more loudly this time "Don't lay there grandma is laying there, and don't you change the channel she likes dukes of hazard" speaking of her grandmother, who died when I was 12. So I moved over and she whispered my name and I said "yes?" and she said "I see them too." I asked her what she meant and she replied "the shadow people, there are so many of them." The next day the pastor came and read her her rites of passage and then I kissed her and went home. Later that night I got the call she had passed. After she died both me and my sister had dreams about my mother, sometimes scary dreams and other times dreams where she was asking us for things, like this blanket she used to use when she was alive. I even used to smell her perfume in my apartment. Soon that started to fade.
My then boyfriend had a lot of issues with ghosts and his parents even kept a mask from Haiti in their house which I think may be the main cause of the paranormal activity in their house. I slept there a few times and had dreams about a little girl, dead, covered in water. When I woke up I told him about it and he said "yes there's a little girl who drowned in the canal in the backyard." After this I stopped staying there but then the problems followed us to our apartment (we lived together an hour from his parents so sometimes we'd go visit and stay with them). He was at work and I was getting ready to go out, I was looking in the mirror and SAW him standing against the wall by our bed. I turned around and he wasn't there, so I called him on the phone and he hadn't been home. He just got off work and was in his car.
My current problem is I'm now staying with my dad in another state, he's had this house since I was 3 and I never had any problems with paranormal activity until recently. I keep seeing shadow figures all the time, the same ones I saw in Florida. I was in the bathroom last night cleaning out the bath tub when I felt pressure all over my whole body and then a shadow like someone was blocking the light in the bathroom, I turned around and there was no one there. My ability to sense others feelings has also grown to the point where if someone is feeling negative I can't be around them or I get sick. The major problem are these shadow figures and the very strange feelings I get when I see them, almost like tired and panicked at the same time. The question is how do I make them go away? They didn't show up until my mom got sick and now they followed me to a different state and that kind of worries me. So if anyone out there can tell me how to make them go away I'd be very appreciative. I'd be very content with not be able to see ghosts or shadow figures.
