My First Out Of Body Experience

This story is mostly for you guys who are trying to figure out what OBEing is, or just want something to read. This is for anyone who was suddenly thrown into this strange sense of hyper-awareness and wound up stumbling through life without a clue as to how to deal with your gifts.

As a child, I was psychically gifted. I remember going outside when I was little and playing with these lights that would always follow me around, and I have always had a real gift for healing and clairvoyance. As I grew older my awareness really started fading until the point where I couldn't ever remember anything special happening to me, but I always felt like an outsider wherever I went.

After my gifts were dormant for a few years, I had a dream, my first precognition. I knew something bad was about to happen, and at the time, my life was falling completely apart. A few days later, I found out my uncle had an aneurysm. I knew he was in the hospital, but the next day during school something freaky happened. I was having lunch in the cafeteria (I was in 8th grade at the time), and all of a sudden the cafeteria disappeared and I was suspended in darkness. All I could do was hear things. I heard the distinct sound of helicopter blades, but it was much louder than I had ever heard it before, and I could hear the sounds of all kinds of monitors. I felt the faint beating of a heart, like I was unconscious laying down, but I knew where I was and could hear everything going on. I suddenly felt a sense of release and I heard monitors going off, that distinct sound that you hear when someone's heart stops and sets them off. The only words I heard then were "We're losing him!" and I felt a sudden pressure on my chest and like I was floating. I knew he was gone. Then I saw a flash of light and I was back in the cafeteria, shaking in my chair. I remember my friends telling me that I looked like I saw a ghost (irony lol), and I was shaken up the rest of the day. When I got back home, my parents told me that he had been in critical condition, so they tried to fly him to a hospital where they could better take care of him, but he died mid-flight.

After that experience, all of my gifts started coming back. I would get visions during school and hear people's thoughts. I could see auras and feel most every emotion of every person in a given room. I also have a gift for some forms of elemental telekinesis as well as a few others. If any of you had an experience like that, or really any experience at all you would care to share, I would love to hear it in the comments:) I hope you all are having a wonderful day:)

"once we have enough understanding to pose the question, it would seem possible to be able to handle the answer"

Where does the sidewalk of the universe end if it came from nothing and is expanding into nothingness? Science can handle the general gist of the question of how energy comes together over time like an oven baking a very specialized cake that encompasses everything you see. My meaning being that certain understanding leads to certain questions but the answers can lead to expansions of conciousness that would change the culture and psyche of those that find such answers. No different than figuring out electricity and powering the world only to later figure out nucular fusion and splitting atoms for atomic weapons. Extreame examples but they fit the bill.

Applying the same idea to inner dimensions of a person, what if you have already lived since time began? What if you're already ancient in ways that would appear godlike and downright scary to your limited human perspective. You can seek whatever you have interest in finding and I'm sure you will find it if you want to. In my eyes, your subconcious/ spirit already knows the answer to what you search for, it's simply a matter of how it's filtered back into your own life from a perspective that you would understand and be able to utilize without confusion. Otherwise it's simply excess baggage to carry around... Sorry, feeling like I'm ranting on... One of my favorite ways to understand is simply tell yourself that you'll automatically understand your dreams and the symbols upon waking... Try it consistently for several weeks just as your falling asleep and you should see results. Another is to have a question in mind while walking a bookstore and randomly open any book to any page and read whatever line your eyes go to... It can be spookily accurate. Hope that helps.

Yes, I take your point about how much your consciousness can take, but once having the understanding of even the possibility of parallel lives, alternate lives, past lives--it wouldn't be that hard to distinguish.

I do have pieces of memories from other lives--lots of pieces. And when I meet someone in my OBE who appears in my "target spot"--I assume they are there for a purpose. But because I was freaked by their being there, I never got to ask "Who are you? Why are you here?"

It doesn't seem that that information either would be too much to comprehend.

I guess I'm saying that once we have enough understanding to pose the question, it would seem possible to be able to handle the answer.

But perhaps it is "withheld" (me from myself) for other reasons having to do with timing, Plan, etc.

I guess I should be happy with what has come through though.

IslVoter... Seth books, good stuff, I've read them all. I used to connect weirdly when reading them... Often images and feelings of going into some sort of triangle vision/feeling of lifting up. You DO remember, it's just a different aspect of your psyche that understands and utilizes the data. There's simply too much data that hits you everyday for the waking conciseness to process so it's translated into symbols and feelings that serve you in a better way. You CAN retain the memory of journeys and experiences elsewhere it's just a matter of how much such intel helps or hinders your waking conciseness so to speak. For instance, say you believed in having other lifetimes or parallel you's that are all happenins simultaneously... To pickup on all that data would simply be confusing. Say you were a guy in one lifetime, don't you think it would be confusing to see that self's perspective which would skew your female vantage point? In other words, reality is BIG and filtering is needed to keep peoples perspectives and psyche coherent and true to themselves in each lifetime. Not that you can't breach such boundary lines, just realize it gets weird and doesn't necessarily serve you to understand such things.

Cheshire Cat--

Just wanted to comment on your astral projections (pretty awesome, albeit scary) and the "download" of information--that you can't remember afterward.

I've had this happen and have heard lots of people comment on it as well. I want to try an experiment, but haven't been able to project again in order to do it.

It has to do with something I read in the Seth books (Seth Speaks--Jane Roberts) that explained that dreams were not only these creations of our mind but were translations--into visual and auditory symbols--of pure energetic experiences we had when we were out. He (Seth) explained that it takes an extra amount of energy (and perhaps some help from others) to "compose" a dream and to reserve enough consciousness in order to remember it when we wake up. We've all had that experience of forgetting a dream.

There are other factors--like how you are awoken. I've tried to ask for enough consciousness to remember the dream, but to be woken up so that I could remember it. But if I was startled awake by some hypnagogic sound (like footsteps when no one was home) --I freak and forget everything.

SO--what I'm getting to is that perhaps, if we request before our projections, or as we are getting this information--that we be able to retain memory in our physical consciousness--maybe we can remember.

Just my own fantasy. It is frustration to feel like you've been given all this wonderful understanding and get back and can only remember that you have, but not what any of it was! 😭

Wow ChesireCat, those sound really incredible and scary... I really hope it's better now ❤ I've had a lot of emotional and mental stress lately, so my gifts have gone relatively dormant as of late, which is good. It's given me the chance to focus on what I need to focus on without the distraction of seeing and knowing too much. I do miss it, but I know it's for the best 😊 I truly hope the two of you are doing well 😊

Well Austin, first off, I'm sorry for not replying earlier, things have been crazy with school ending 😕 So far as feeling others' emotions, I know that's really hard. The one thing that's really worked for me in getting a hold on that is a bunch of visualization exercises. I often imagine a wall around me that blocks outside energy from coming in, and it usually works. It takes time to get used to keeping it up. How is it you see the future? 😊 Is it in dreams, visions, do you scry while looking at reflective surfaces on accident?

I've personally been 'out of body' three times in my lifetime. The first was from a lightly dreaming state of mind. I had just drifted off to sleep and found myself in a college class were I hate not done the homework and was freaking out. When my name was called I started to get really pissed and suddenly I realized that I was in a dream as I had just recently quit college. In my anger I walked toward a door and demanded to get out of this only to question what was outside a dream doorway to get out? The second I thought this as I opened the door, I remember a weird black out moment of loss of conciousness then suddenly hovering over my body. I was 'resonating' or vibrating extremely fast while looking at my physical body in bed vibrating at a slower rate. It was almost like if you film an old computer monitor on film and see it flickering except everything in my environment was vibrating like a holographic projection. I had a hyper sense of realism with a strange clarity of mind. I remember I sort of panicked and wanted back in the body and in that second I blacked out again and woke up very shaken as it broke my sense of what the spirit and life and death really are.

The second was more of a release from the body framework were I rose upwards out of the body from the top of the head from fully waking conciousness. In this state I felt like I had a very weak connection to the body itself but had access to some sort of freely available information highway so to speak. If I asked a question it was shown in rapid form with many pictures, symbols and a certain sense of 'just knowing'. It was like understanding how polar bears and the farming of corn in south america were all connected within seconds... Mass amounts of data crunching and understanding without really needing to try. The annoying part was that whatever was with me showing it to me wouldn't allow for me to keep what I was being shown. In other words I kept seeing the answers to what I was asking only to drop down into my physical self to write it down but once I got back into the body it felt like an hourglass were I couldn't translate all the data through my nervous system. Like a bottleneck leaving me with bits and pieces that didn't contain anywhere near what I was shown. I gave up after several attempts just to have fun with it.

The third and final time simply was too extreme and too scary for me to even want to think about. I basicly got shot out of the body from a full on waking state after comming home from work. Again I had the weird black blanking were I can't remember how I got out and found myself in some hyper infinity hovering about 30 feet above my house and body trapped with some sort of hive minded conciousness that basically terrified me. After 30min in this strange place, I got placed back in my body and saw light lines connecting everything around me and was continued to be attacked by whatever this was for longer than I want to mention. Nothings been the same since this last experience in my life but slowly these 'abilities' have died down as that's all I really care about these days. Hearing peoples thoughts, feeling there emotions and many other psychic phenomenon are only intrusions and annoyances to me these days. Even seeing the future is annoying... If I had access to a flux capacitor to travel back in time, I'd kick myself for ever thinking it would be interesting to look into these matters... Oh well, ce la vie

well that's some freaky stuff but sounds cool. I'm 13 in the 7th grade and need some help with my abilities I can feel emotions of others and see the future. Just today (mar 3 2012) I saw this kids aura at his feet when we were looking for his ear ring and I could find it but it freaked me out plus I can steal energy from anything from plants to people at any given time. Like I hurt my self trying to be all assassin like and spranged my ankle. I went over to a tree and took some energy to heal myself and now it feels better. Please help with my others though cause I have energy stealing and storing down. 😭
