As of recently I've been sensing an energy around me. It happens a lot of the time and it doesn't really matter where I am or who I'm with. I've had this feeling of an energy around me at work and school. I had a feeling that someone or something was watching me last night and I instantly woke up... But nothing was there? I try to shake this feeling off and tell myself that nothing is there. I can see it though. I see it in the corner of my eye but I soon as I look nothing's there anymore. Sometimes when I'm at my friends house who's father passed away in the basement I can sense something. It's not exactly negative or positive, but it's just something there. What does this mean!? This is all so confusing to me because I know and can feel something there.
Also, I don't know if this even means anything but I'm very sensitive to people's emotions and a lot of the time I can speak what people are thinking. Like, for instance, I can easily tell what someone is thinking based on what their energy is giving off. Does this mean anything?
I'm really not sure if being sensitive to people's emotions says anything but I know the energy thing is definitely not normal. I have always been curious of the supernatural but my family is EXTREMELY christian and I know that I could never go to them for advice. No one in my family even believes in mediums because they think they're just doing it for the attention or money. I don't know who to go to or what to do. Can someone help me? I just really want some help and guidance.
I'm not going to lie, it takes a good bit of you to learn that fine line, but it's worth it. If you're just looking for some validation, there are plenty of people who have this particular ability and learn to cope with it just fine. If it becomes a source of anxiety in your everyday life, try to visualize a bubble around yourself; a bubble of peace and serenity, of calm and self. This will be your barrier to keep your feelings in and others' out. If you ever feel down and don't have a reason for feeling that way, visualize that barrier and the feelings will subside.
Also, finding a nice quiet place for yourself is a valuable asset as an empath. If anyone asks, just explain that you need some space for a little while.
