Was It An Out Of Body Experience?

I was in an old very dark, dreary house that I did not recognize. There was a girl that I am pretty sure I don't know (I don't remember exactly what she looked like) there with me. We were standing there and I think having a conversation about something but I can't exactly remember. Then all of a sudden I was thrown very gently and almost in slow motion to the floor by something I could not see or feel. The girl just stood there staring as this happened. Then I could feel myself being sucked or pulled along the floor very slowly until I was at a wall. I was kind of huddled in a ball the whole time. It seemed as though there was some force holding me there. I was paralyzed and could not move and was just stuck on this wall. The girl walked by me and I was begging her to help me or for someone to help me but it was like she could not see me or hear me.

The whole time this was going on I could actually feel the force pulling me and feel a floor underneath me. I knew at some point that it was a dream. Probably when I was not being seen or heard. From what I have been able to find online I guess this is referred to as a lucid dream. When I realized I was dreaming a very real, very disturbing dream I tried really hard to wake up. I was fighting and fighting and I could feel my heart racing.

I then thought I had woken up until I was in that same unfamiliar dreary old farm house. There were what seemed to be a light on in every room but not in the hallway where I was. I could see a light and people all dressed in black in every room and all faceless it seems. Every room I entered, the lights would go out and the people would disappear and I would be alone in the dark. There was one room I entered where the lights went out but the people did not disappear. It was a kitchen and there was a woman washing the dishes with her back to me and another woman leaning against the counter. I would tried to talk to them and I started screaming but they just continued what they where doing as if I was not there.

I starting feeling like my heart was going to explode and again was just like ok this is too weird I have had enough. Wake up... Wake up... Please wake up. Finally I woke up and I felt like I had just risen from being under water for a very long time. I was gasping for air.

I haven't been feeling right all day. Not only do I feel like I did not sleep at all last night, like I had been running a marathon in my sleep, I also have this horrible feeling like something bad is going to happen. Usually I am pretty intuitive about these things. If I feel like something bad will happen it usually does (even if it is fairly minor and only of importance to me).

I have had a history of night terrors, sleep walking and talking. I also used to have these horrible experiences when I was sleeping where it wasn't really a dream but it was like a color and intensity and it was pulsing and pounding in my face and getting closer and closer until I could no longer breath. Then I would wake up gasping for air.

Please give me your input on this... Has anyone else had any similar experiences?

Also (and this just makes me feel like maybe I am losing it) but when I finally got my self to wake up... I had the words "out of body experience" almost etched into the inside of my eyelids... Besides trying to calm down it was the only thing I could think of...

Thank you for letting me share my experience. I look forward to anyone's input.

I've written before, a few times, about a "dream" house. This a.m. My hubby and I talked about our house and one house we looked at house hunting, over the years, that creeped me out. Upstairs, it creeped out our real estate agent who just said she would NEVER step foot there again. I felt it when walking in the door. He remembered, which was nice. But the house I dream about, and it's always the same is winding and I always learn something new. I don't know where it is or why I have it. Odd.

Hey everyone... Thank you for responding to my story!
Serpeius, The way you described your experience is preety much the same as what happens to me. Its like the last image I look at melts together into a mess of colours and and then starts to grow and become more intens. OVERWHELMING is the perfect word to describe it. I do hear a buzzing noise as well when it happens. It's very frightening. I think the reason I wake up out of breath is just the fear, my hearts starts racing and I am probably holding my breath. Also to I often thought I bet that's what people that are claustrophobic feel like and they hyperventilate... I used to experience it a lot more when I was younger but it is becoming less frequent the older I get. Oh and sometimes along with the buzzing as things are getting really "close" its like there is a pounding noise in my head. You know if you stand on your head for too long and the blood all rushes into your head and you can feel your whole head pulsing and pounding? Its kind of like that. I hope this helps... It's definitely not an easy thing to explain. I really wonder what it is.

i have had dreams like that. They are very vivid and seem so real
I am not sure if what you had was an outer body experience or not see as I have not had one but I think it is very possible.

Hi I dreamed of being in this house but it was like my bedroom but as a old fashioned one. I looked outside outside was different. I thought I woken up from the dream but then found 3 men holding me down. It felt so real but I can't explain that night it was like I was experiencing someone else's death. Who got murdered. I woke up finding my light on. It was well strange but I never know if it was spirits visiting me that night or a dream.

I have experienced something very similar to this, except that I didn't wake up without breath. It was like a weird lucid dream where I was awake and asleep at the same time and lights and colors and things would go from insignificant to huge and overwhelming and scary. Usually I got a very low long lasting buzzing noise in my head. The experience was scary although it didn't contain any scary images. I have had an OBE before and it didn't frighten me. Could you please write more on this experience that I quoted?

It's crazy how something not real can inflict pain or cause any feeling at all.
If it is out of body or astral projection... I would love to learn how to control where it is I am going and what I see. 😆

Hey, I just posted a story about my very seemingly real dreams too. I feel pain in them, I was shot in one... It hurt, and I could feel the blood coming out of my mouth.
It was scary, and I've had dreams where people I don't know know me...It's really odd. Could be just lucid dreams, could be part astral travel
