How Can I Know What Spirit Is Following Me?

Since my Grandpa died in 2003 - I have been regularly visited by a "thing" at the end of my bed. I have never wanted to know what it was, as I was always too frightened by it, it just didn't seem to be happy. I was speaking with my Mum this morning and she said that she read somewhere that depending on which side of the bed it stands, can determine which side of the family it comes from. So the left hand side is the Mother's side and the right hand side is the Father's side of the family.

And any dreams I've had where my Grandfather was concerned has been negative. The first one was about a year or so after he passed, and it was like any other family occasion - everyone was there. Except I was a small child again, maybe about 5-6yo. I was the only one who could see him, and the only one that was trying to let them know that he was getting increasingly agitated. He stood in the kitchen and was getting angrier and angrier, yet, I still don't know what it was over. I tried to tell my Dad that Grandpa was angry, but he just told me not to interrupt the adults conversation. I don't remember much else from that dream.

Another dream I was at his house with Mum and he appeared to me, I think it was me only, again. And I dropped to my knees crying, just so happy to have him back. He was still upset about something, and again I don't know what. So this has all left me wondering, if I am the only one that can see him in my dreams, does this mean that he's trying to communicate with me, or is he angry about something I did? Could it be him standing at the foot of my bed? I really would appreciate any help possible.

I know your post was from a few years ago now, but I happened to stumble across this site and needed to respond to you post. I too have dreams of my grandfather, usually at family gatherings. In my dreams I am the only one who can see him. He just sits or stands there and doesn't talk to me. The dreams are very real, and I feel frustrated that he is not talking to me. He seems calm, however it seems he wants to say something but for whatever reason he doesn't. I am always trying to tell people that he is there, yet no one listens. I'm wondering what it means to dream of passed over relatives in this way, as it seems to be a common theme? Any comments on this topic would be much appreciated 😊

As your the only one that can see him that is why he is coming to you. Children are more sensitive and as you saw him at a young age he knows to come back to you as you believe in him.
At the family gathering unfortunatley you were too young to know what they were discussing. Maybe before he passed there was some agreement with another family member that wasn't carried out. Could be legal, money, property or a family dispute.
If you see him again try remember what was discussed and who was discussing.
Just a thought. Good Luck

not that I can remember. I usually argue with my Dad when he's home - and my Grandfather never liked my Dad. Grandpa always wanted Mum to marry a rich Greek boy (Grandpa was Greek Cypriot).

jam_ludovica_marie... It really boils down to how strong your belief is in the right-left side family thing... Spirits are pretty in tune to your thoughts... But for some reason I thought it was the same spirit with a message for each side of the family... Any crazy family stuff happen with in a few days or a week of the appearances?

The more I think about it - the more little clues arise. I can now only distinctly remember two times of this spirit showing up at the foot of my bed, and both times was two years apart. The first time was in 2005, on the left hand side of the bed - which has something to do with my Mum apparently. And that was 2 years after Grandpa (Mum's Dad) passed away. Then the second time it showed up, it stood on the opposite side of the bed, 2 years after my Grandma (Dad's Mum) had passed away. Do you think it could be two different spirits? Or just the one? (I'm sorry I didn't put this in the story, I only just thought of it as I was considering your reply Edmund).

jam_ludovica_marie... You might be the only one who is open enough to see him. The hard part that you need to overcome is keeping the shock and fright of seeing him down long enough to ask him what he wants and then if its even possible to help him get what he seeks!
