How Can I Control The Visions?

It all started when I was 12. I saw my first ghost, and I was really scared. After that my life was never the same. It felt like someone was always with me, watching me. I never heard noises, but I could tell when a spirit entered the room, because I could feel the pressure of the ghost, and I would get really cold, but it wouldn't be my whole body, it would be the front or back or my left or right side. Another way I would tell if someone entered the room, is I would smell something that would remind me of someone or something, like smoke, because my mom used to smoke, and my grandmother smokes.

I started to tell what others were feeling at age 13. I could look at my friend, and tell if she was having a bad day, even though she covered it with a smile. Like one time, she seemed out of it, off somewhere distant, day dreaming or something, and she had a sad look on her face. I wasn't really scared because she was my best friend and still is to this day. I confronted her, and asked what was wrong. When she didn't answer, I put my hand on her shoulder. That's when I got my first real vision. She was really angry and sad at the same time, and I was getting really confused. I said, "Destiny, I know something is wrong, but I'm not going to force you to tell me. You tell me when you want." And at that time, she told me everything. She was saying that her mom just got laid off from her job, and now she's looking for a new one, she got so upset that she started to cry. I told her everything was going to be alright, and that everything would work itself out.

That night, I had a dream that Destiny's mom got a new job, and what do you know, her mom got a new job about a week later. I told her about my dream and everything before it happened, but she didn't believe me, until it happened. She was very surprised, and she asked me how I knew and I repeated what I had said before: I saw it in a dream.

I'm seeking help from a very smart person, who I already told my abilities, and she said that according to her, I am a Empath, and a Medium. The only thing is, I don't know how to control it. If you have any suggestions, please tell me. Thanks!

Visions in the dream state are harder to control, but I highly recommend meditation on a regular basis. It has helped me, although I don't have visions through dreams, usually.

leighmillage95: If you have visions in your dream state, it's very difficult to control what you see. Lucid dreaming is the ability to be awake in your dream, and thus "control it" but this is really more "entertainment" than controlling what creeps in through the basement of the mind. In sleep the mind's "safety" is off.

An empath can put themselves in another's shoes; feel what they feel, think that they think. If untrained it can be hard to distinguish what are your own thoughts or feelings from extrenal ones.

A medium can communicate with spirits. A medium, as in a piece of paper that an artist draws on, or a "middle" person, or a go-between.

To me control is the ability to correctly inturprit and focus one's abilities to achieve an outcome-hopefully a possitive one.

I can't control what the spirits give me, nor would I want to. I am a messenger.
