Chicago Airliner Crash 1979

David Booth from Cincinnati, Ohio had a series of premonition dreams of a DC-10 American Airliner jet crashing days before that fatal crash in May 1979. I too had a waking vision, a death omen, and a premonition dream all concerning the same ill-fated jet liner. I had a friend who would have been on that flight out of Chicago from which no one survived had I not warned him.

It all began when I drove my friend to LAX airport to pick up his round trip ticket to Chicago. It was a nice day in Los Angeles as we pulled into the parking lot across from American Airlines. As we were coming back out of the terminal and walking across the street to the parking lot, I had an ominous feeling as if I were in danger and wheeled around. At that moment in a waking vision I saw this huge tail of an AA DC-10 jet sitting on the tarmac fall over and on top of me! I was transfixed to the spot staring wide-eyed at the plane with my mouth open in shock as I flinched. My friend Dan asked me what was wrong and why I looked like I had just seen a ghost. I told him it was something bad to do with that jetliner, but didn't know exactly what it meant. It was upsetting at the time but I shrugged it off and drove him back to his apt.

Later that evening I picked him up to go out for something to eat. It was getting on towards 10 pm when we returned and Dan asked me in for a cup of coffee before I left. As we went into his 7th floor apartment in Hollywood, he had three French-style windows open with no screens and no curtains that hinged in the middle of the window and turned on a vertical rods sideways. As he walked toward these windows and looked out into the night lights a sparrow suddenly flew in and startled him as it circled his head and flew up and lit on a curtain rod. Again I had that same shocked look as I did earlier that afternoon at the airport. A bird in the house has always been a death omen in our family. This time I said..."Dan...that's a death omen! You've been marked for death and it's got something to do with that American Airliner at the airport today!" I finished my coffee and left for my hotel apartment even more disturbed by what I had experienced that day.

That night in a premonition, time-travel dream into the future, I saw what the warnings were all about. In the dream I was briefly in the lobby watching people board that doomed plane, then suddenly I was way up above the runway watching the American Airliner DC-10 taxi for takeoff. As it roared down the runway and rapidly climbed to where I was observing it in the sky, the left engine suddenly ripped off its mounts and hurled itself over top of the wing ripping circuits, hydraulic lines and metal in its wake. The plane immediately rolled sideways to the left and that huge tail with AA on it went through me in the sky just as it had done on the ground at LAX. I saw the plane plummet sideways to the ground, as it impacted and slid up under a bridge exploding in a fireball. I was jolted awake in the night knowing that my friend was a dead man if he boarded that plane. There were no survivors!

The next day I warned him not to be on that return flight. He was going to cancel the whole flight and was afraid to fly from LAX to Chicago. I said..."Dan, it's not the one going to Chicago you need to worry about, it's the one coming back. DON'T be on it!" He went on to Chicago a few days later, visited with his family for about a week and called me from Chicago asking if I still felt the same way. I was vehement in my warnings! He changed his plans and lived to tell the story. He's still living in Hollywood, California to this day. His name is on the passenger list as well as the record of him changing flights!

David Booth wasn't the only one who had a premonition of the worst air crash in U.S. History at the time!

Thanks for all of your kind remarks. Premonitions and pre-cognitive dreams will grab our attention. I hope all of you have a wonderful, interesting 2015. I haven't had any big premonitions (yet) but will report it on here asap should I have one. Premonitions are meant to be shared I believe. As far as Curtis Mathis being on the plane I had a premonition about, I don't believe he was on this AA plane out of Chicago, altho he died on a jet plane that crashed. My apologies for jumping to a conclusion about him being on it. Best Regards to all. David

I heard a few months ago that Dan is no longer alive, that he in fact moved to another state and died in 2005. I remember reading that the well-known tv manufacturer Curtis Mathis was also on that American Airline DC-10 that went down. Lindsey Wagner a.k.a. Bionic Woman changed plans and did not fly out of Chicago on it.

moonshine: Thank you for the kind comments but I don't let the lack of attention to my posts bother me at all. I only post them to share some of my experiences with others concerning the paranormal. I am happy if one person reads and enjoys them, perhaps open their world view to greater possibilities. I've had many lesser types of psychic experiences but didn't feel they warranted publishing even though they were interesting to me at the time and still are.
Cosmogal926 Hello and thanks for reading the stories. Yes, I've had other premonitions since those that I published but only one in the league with the Berlin Wall and Chicago Crash but I would rather not publish it although it occured in the mid 1990's.
Shinigami0 I am glad you enjoyed the stories and hope you will continue to read them when I finally get around to writing another one. Thank you for your kind remarks.
DCinAZ Sorry to cause you to clench up like that while reading about the Chicago Air Crash. I remember that premonition as if it happened yesterday.
AnandaHya Yes, it was fortunate to be able to save a life at that time by warning him not to fly. As far as I know he's still alive in his 80's and living in California. I'm thinking about publishing another story about a time-travel premonition about a truck wreck that would have killed several people including myself had I not acted on it.

trully amazing. I love family traditions that are still listened to and honored. I think they preserve the way our dead relatives communicate with us to send us messages and show us what the future might hold. It is trully refreshing to see someone using their gifts for good and helping make a difference in their world.

David, I've read your other story, and I must say, both accounts seem genuine and incredibly interesting. I always like to read interesting experiences on these sites, and for this site in particular, it was a nice breath of fresh air, as other genuine stories have been.

I'm glad you were able to stop your friend from flying. Its always nice to know we can make a difference to keep our loved ones safe. Its also refreshing that you were fervent in your efforts- it shows how much you care.
Thanks for posting- I look forward to reading more of your experiences.

Au Revior. 😊 ❤ ❤

Wow! David, this and the Berlin Wall premonition? We would be honored if you would keep with us. Your stories are definetly what this site is about. After reading this I was actually holding my hand in a fist, which is my involuntary reaction to close calls. That's pretty good writing to make me clench like that. Thanks for the retelling, it was amazing!

Wow that was one powerful premonition. Have you ever had anything like that happen since? I am also glad your friend listened to you and did not get on that plane. I agree with the others, and look forward to reading any other experiences you may have had. 😊

Thank you for this story and thank you Moonshine for 'pulling' it to the top.

I must agree, this is what' it's all about.

I'm so glad you were able to convince your friend not to fly on that return trip, it's sad to think of what happened that day, and yet this small ray of hope was able to 'shine' forth.

Respectfully,

Rook

David, how did this account get lost? Experiences such as yours should be the ones with the MOST comments, and I'm sorry if the posters here seem to ignore truely psychic experiences.

I hope my comment draws some attention, as I find we collectively have gotten away from what this site was intended for.

I'm glad your friend took your advice. Sometimes it's hard to get people to believe our "visions". You must have been very convincing!

David, please don't let the lack of attention to your posts discourage you from writing more. I would love to hear more from you! 😊 ❤
