Sleep Paralysis Or Something Else?

On December 28th, 2009 I had a biopsy of a thyroid nodule to rule out any chance of cancer (thank God it came back benign). Just about a week and a half ago (the first week of February 2010), I noticed that a small scar or bump had formed in the same spot as the biopsy. This didn't strike me as abnormal as the doctor did inject me about 5 or 6 times with numbing medication, and then he took about 3 or 4 draws for the biopsy. However, last Sunday, February 14th, I had something strange happen.

With my spouse at work, and the day to myself, I had made plans to get several things done around the house. Instead, however, I became very, very sleepy. Not wanting to take a nap, I decided instead to spend some time listening to the audio version of the book, "The Lost Symbol", by Dan Brown. I got through about one chapter of the book, and fell asleep with the audio book still playing. A few minutes later I woke up, and realizing what had happened, I re-wound the book to the chapter I started at, and started listening again. Minutes later I found I'd fallen asleep again, and repeated the process. This went on about 5 or 6 times, until something changed dramatically; I didn't just fall asleep, I became paralyzed. I was either experiencing sleep paralysis, or something quite different.

Lying on the couch, I found it nearly impossible to open my eyes, and my body felt like it was encased in lead. To my right, directly behind my couch came the sound of voices. Thinking there was someone in my house, I thought to myself, "I need to wake up. I need to get up!", I struggled to move, and felt myself getting up off the couch, but when I opened my eyes and looked I was still lying down! This happened several times.

Then, all of a sudden I heard a loud "bing" sound, and the lights in the house brightened, and my eyes flew open; I was wide awake. I sat up on the couch and thought, "what was that all about?". Looking over at the clock I realized over two hours had passed.

As I rubbed away the sleep from my eyes, and massaged my neck to work out a kink that had settled in, I noticed something very strange. The bump that had been in the area of my thyroid biopsy was gone! It was there before I started listening to the audio book, and now, just about 2 hours later it was gone. What happened to me?

Thinking back on the experience as I write this, I try to remember what the voices were saying, but I can't. I'm certain they were not part of the recording, as they sounded like they were coming from inside my living room. Is it possible that I had some kind of visitation? If not, how can I explain the sudden disappearance of the "bump" over my thyroid biopsy area, the "sleep paralysis", and the disembodied voices?

One other thing, I'm scheduled to have major surgery on February 25th to have part of my thyroid removed, along with a mass that has formed behind it. Do you think this experience has anything to do with that? Personally, I'm beginning to wonder if the doctor is actually going to find a mass when he opens me up.

Adriennea, I don't think you're crazy at all. I've heard of this type of thing happening to many people. In fact, there is a famous book called "The Entity" (and a movie by the same name) in which Carla Moran was assaulted by an unseen being (and is still being assaulted from what I hear).

The important thing, however, is whether or not you want it to stop. If so, ask for angelic protection before you go to sleep. Ask for angels to be placed over every opening in the house (door, window, closet, etc.), and to keep this entity out. And then accept that this has been done. If the attacks continue after you've done this, please write back and we'll see if we can help you further.

As to whether or not it is demonic in nature... Well, I would lean more towards a not so good spirit.

Take care,

Alicia

Even though you're story is very different it is somewhat similiar to what I have experienced. The first time it happened to me was about when I was 22, I'm 29 now. Anyways the first time it happened to me it was so extremely new and different to me that it scared the crap out of me and it still does but I have learned how to control it a little.

Anyways, I will get to the point. The first time it happened to me I was laying in bed asleep next to my then boyfriend. Then the weirdest experience happened, I like was asleep but awake, kind of in between, it's hard to explain unless someone like you has experienced this before. I felt like someone was holding me down and found it hard to breath and could hear my own heart beat. I couldn't move and I was fighting so hard to move and scream "help". I was trying to wake up my boyfriend but I couldn't move, and I couldn't speak, it felt like I was able to get out a whisper "help" but I don't know if I actually did because no one has ever heard me. I was able to hear everything around me like the tv, which was left on, and I seemed to be able to open my eyes just slightly, it was sooo scary! It was like I was like someone was sitting on me and choking me and I was fighting for my life. It was real I know it was. There was a time after that, that I thought maybe it was a dream, but this has happened several times since then. I was eventually able to struggle to wake up. My most recent experience was a couple days ago when I actually felt like someone was choking me with their hands around my neck. Sometimes I'll go months without a experience, sometimes it's just days. It's very random. After the first time it happened years ago it happened a lot after that for some months, and I found if I didn't fight whatever it is holding me down, that the experience was less scary, I just let it pass and I eventually wake up. But this experience a couple days ago was the first in a while and was different with me feeling like someone actually was choking me with their hand around my throat. I struggled and eventually "woke", even though I am awake in a sense.

My current boyfriend told me that a lot of people believe these are demons? Idk, this is crazy. I don't tell a lot of people because they probably will think I'm weird, but I have been looking it up on the internet and a lot of people are experiencing the same experiences.

My surgery went very well. The mass was still there, and removed by the surgeon. I was told by the surgeon that it was connected to my thyroid by a thread like dead tissue. It also appeared that the mass had been there for a very long time. The good news? I do not have cancer! The mass was benign. So who knows, perhaps it was just as AnneV said, and I received healing from the spiritual realm.

I just wanted to let you all know that my surgery went very well, and I am cancer-free, and healing. Also, I had "company" while I was in the hospital. As soon as I can post the story, I'll do so.

Take care,

Alicia

Thanks, Anne. I really appreciate your taking time to answer both of my new postings.

I actually filled out a questionaire on the possibility of alien contact, and said "yes" to 33 out of 65 of the questions. So who knows?

Thank you, also, for the insight on how our physical body becomes slightly un-aligned with our etheric one. That explains a lot to me. I have had O.B.E.s (or astral projected), so I'm aware of how that feels. This, however, was nothing like that. Anyway, I will post back with a comment after my surgery.

I call this state the catatonic state. It's where your physical body becomes slightly un-aligned with your etheric one and you can hear outside the normal range (voices, radio waves, low level entities, your sleeping spouses' thoughts, etc.) because you're not hampered by physical ears which have a much more narrow frequency band. Since we can hear radio waves this may or may not have been what you heard. We can't move because again, we're slightly disconnected to our physical shell. We are in this state every night but only rarely do we become conscious of it.

I have become lucid while in this state and felt several people over me doing healing work so I don't see why this couldn't happen to you. We are assisted more than we realize sometimes. Either way, no lump is good news and hopefully your upcoming surgery is just as happily surprising. Keep us posted.

Anne
