My Dream Vision

I've been having dream visions since I was eight, but this one has always been the most impressive to me.

When I was ten, a new girl named Andrea moved into the same town as me. She was in my grade, and one of my friends, Avery, already knew her very well. They started hanging out, leaving me behind for the most part.

About a month later, I dreamt that I was in the back of Andrea's old van, accompanied by her and one of my other friends, Kayla. Andrea's mom was driving. The three of us were talking and laughing, and then we started singing a song. It went, "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, Rikki-Tikki-Tu, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, we love you." And then we were laughing again.

I can't remember the rest of the dream. I didn't bother to think much of it when I woke up. I really didn't like Andrea, and figured it was just a weird dream. I had plenty of dreams that were strange and meant nothing, so I threw that one into the pile of meaningless trash.

As time went on though, I found out that Andrea was staying at her Uncle's house across the street from me. Soon, she and I began walking home together, and my fear and hatred of being overshadowed by her faded. She became a very close friend of mine. Kayla, too.

Andrea and her mom moved into a small house down the street later that summer. I saw that her mom, being disabled, had an old van for a car with an open, empty backseat. I finally got to meet her cute little pet ferret, Ricky. Short for, I found out, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi.

Remember that I'd thrown my dream into the junk pile of my head? Well, because of that, it didn't come back the instant I'd heard his name. Andrea's mom even walked around house singing the song I'd heard occasionally. It still didn't click.

It wasn't until a year and a half later. Kayla and I were spending the night at Andrea's house. Her mom needed to go grocery shopping, which meant that we had to go with her to help carry bags.

We got in the van, the three of us in the back, her mom in the front. We started talking excitedly about our plans for that night, cracking jokes every now and again.

I was getting an odd feeling, like I knew this scene from somewhere before.

Kayla and I started talking about our pets. I said how lazy my cat was and Kayla said her wiener dog was loyal, but we both agreed that Andrea had the best pet. It all fell into place then.

The three of us made eye contact, and we all knew what was about to happen. The only difference was, my friends hadn't known it before. All three of us broke out into a chorus of the song I'd been hearing for almost two years, and I finally understood. "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, Rikki-Tikki-Tu, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, we love you!"

It had been a vision. This was, and still is, the vision that had taken longest to come true. As always, I cried out, "I've seen this before!"

As I explained my previous viewing to them, I broke the vision. If I'd stayed quiet, maybe it would have continued, but I changed the future by interrupting us.

This is my favorite experience so far of having a dream vision coming true. It signified without a doubt that I was really seeing the future. At the time I had the dream, I'd despised Andrea and hoped she would just go away. I hadn't learned anything about her, her mom, or her pet.

But I'd still had the vision. I'd even dismissed it as a silly, meaningless dream, but it did happen. This was, and still is, my own proof that I have a bit of physic ability.
