Delta Meditation

A couple months ago I was reading about meditation, and astral projection. I've been meditating on and off again since I was about 14 or 15. In the past year I've been meditating on a regular basis, and with great success I'm able to dwell into the delta brain wave state. I don't know why but getting to delta without falling asleep seems to have come naturally to me. Until I started reading about the different brain wave states I thought it was normal or that everyone that meditates did it. I tell you what though, once you get to delta... you know it. It is so much deeper and different then theta, all I can say is that it is a great experience. The only advice I give to reach this state of mind is to concentrate on one single thing, and to "kick out" any thoughts or dreams that drift in. Personally I concentrate on the ringing sound, or sometimes one the third eye. It can take a few minutes while in theta to get to delta, but you'll get it.

When I'm in delta I do sometimes slip into dreams but I'm always able to catch my self within seconds, and I just keep concentrating.

Although I've never been able to astral project yet. I have no fears of "the other side", I've read A LOT of info on the subject and I'm familiar with the fears and such that you have to overcome. I've gotten close twice, but never detached. Basically I could feel this energy pulsing through my body. I think the reason I haven't left the body is because I got too excited and my heart rate and breathing jumped. I've read recently that you need to control this, so maybe next time I get to the vibration state I can keep this under control... has anyone else had this problem and overcame it? Let me know brian [at] b-linq.net or by leaving a message here.

Peace

i know this post is almost 4 years old but I'm new to this site. And in response to Ksheep, I'm also new to meditation. The first few times I tried I got into very deep meditation too and almost detached aswell. They call it the vibrational stage if I'm not mistaken. Now, its like I can't even reach the vibrational stage anymore. And I too believe it has somethin to do with me worrying about wether or not I'm gona reach that stage. The wierd thing is when I first started meditating (approx 1 year ago) I was able to reach the vibrational stage, so I kept meditating for about a week after that (and it felt incredible, like I was completely relaxed and had full control over my emotions. It was like I was "high" off happiness) then I stopped. And ever since then I've been meditating every so often. I would say about once a week, but to this day still no success reaching the vibrational stage. Can anyone help me, or atleast tell me wuts going on.

Hi. I'm pretty much knew to meditating and young, but I was just wondering. Once when I was meditating and after about maybe 15 minutes I felt my whole bodyl relax and I felt like I was detaching slowly from it, but I freaked out and pulled out of it. It felt great. Is that a good sign? And also I usually meditate laying down, it feels more comftable and I don't fall asleep during it. Is that a good way or is it better to sit up?
I hope you can respond to my post.
Thank you

i do meditating often and I don't know if I'm experiencing a similar thing to you but I will tell you what I feel and it would be handy if you could answer back. Ok well I go into this state where everything goes black even thought there are lights on I feel like I have gone to another world but I can still feel and hear the one my bodies in. The other night I tried something I new I projected my self into an animal and I know it sounds crazy but I could feel and smell and see like I was that animal and at the same time my body would constantly shake and convolse. I don't know if that's the same astral projection your talking about it would be great if you could tell me though. Thanks

how exactly do you do delta meditation? I have never done it. I just do regular meditations focus on my breathing, relaxing, sitting up straight so I don't fall asleep. But delta sounds kind of scary... Why did people post about being scared of going into a deeper state? Could this lead you to astral projection? Just curious.

how naive I was when I posted this story, I wasn't getting to the delta state. I was just doing third eye meditation which was leading to an even deeper state... I think some people call it god state. When your mind is completely silenced and it's nothing but you and the universe... Figuratively speaking.
I think it has something to do with the crown chakra but I don't want to say anything for sure if I'm not 100% on it

Whatever you want to call it all I do is start with third eye meditation, once my mind is silenced I just try to stay in that state long enough and if I'm "lucky" I can get to that deeper level... I think it just depends on how long I meditate.
So if you can silence your mind during third eye meditation just stay there until you go deeper. Normally I have to meditate for an hour to get there... I know people that can do it in a matter of minutes... It just depends on how much of a bad a$$ you haha

I'm relatively new to meditation, but I remember the first few times I tried I got in very deep and almost detached, but then got frightened and closed it out. Since then I have read a good deal about meditation, but I can never get into the same state. I believe that some of this may be due to me worrying if I am doing it right.

mixheritag3:

Here's what you do... Stay relaxed and just let it happen. Keep on focusing on the third eye, just let the vibrations keep coming. The energy should build up and "pop" you out.

It's nothing you can't handle, if anything you might be a little freaked out or really excited, but you'll get over it and you'll be able to control your emotions

I have once gotten into the vibration stage, to be exact Tuesday. I tried to keep that vibration flowing but all I could think about was if I would experience something I can't handle. PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN KEEP THIS VIBRATION FLOWING. And when id keep it flowing what will occur next. Not to be funny or anything but I thought the vibration was from the hat I was wearing, I thought it might have been cutting my circulation off. But, I was wrong. I didn't know that what I was doing was meditating.

hey I was really relaxing and I don't know how to explain it I felt light, but I don't know sort of heavy, and like nothing was around me, and then I suddenly broke out of my trance and realised I wasn't breathing. My lips had also turned blue and my heart was beating slower. This was through meditation. Can you explain?

i tried your method of meditation, and it helped me along, it helped me find my power and how to call it quicker, where to go to get more of it.

its getting easier, the more meditation I do to find the sorce of my power, and to use it.

thankyou, charlotte.

Hey there folks. I am completely new to the metaphysical stuff. I have a desire to Astral project. I am just starting with the meditation, I find it difficult to slow my mind... Too much crap going on in my life. But I am looking for a group in austin where I can get direction and when I succeed in projecting, maybe having some familiar forms to do it with. Are there any groups out there that offer this type of support? Thanks. I probably won't find my way back to this site... So please shoot me any info at grellg1971 [at] yahoo.com...I would appreciate it.

I go into delta very often, but when I come out, I still feel detached from my body. Does anyone have an answer?

When reaching the the stage of vibrations, or even if you suspect a strange tingle in your extremities, and are unsure whether this is it; Relax on the feeling, and visualise it spreading gently. This increases the vibrations area, also imagine you feel the vibration increasing in frequency once you have it stablized , even if it isn't . This will aid in the condition getting stronger. Don't worry if you feel like you are shaking around .Ignore that and concentrate on relaxing and the above.

Thanks David. I'll have to try that tonight.

BTW: Have you ever projected after delta meditation?

When you get to Delta, think of an "Ah" moment or something you're so in love with or grateful for and you'll be launched in to the most unbelievable emotional release you have ever experienced. I was able to stay in this moment for as long as I wanted, and I had no fear of coming out because I somehow 'knew' that I would be able to come back again anytime. I spent the next half hour crying like a baby, but with a huge smile and totally bloodshot eyes! As Borat would say "wowahweewah!"

I love living!

Yeah it probably is a neutral state before astral projection. I really don't know. Also one thing I forgot to add was that while in this state I get some weird sensation in my head, but a good sensation.

Thanks Brian, I appreciate the detailed response. Your description is interesting, but honestly, that state, the way you describe it, doesn't seem to be something enjoyable by itself, or, more precisely, is simply a rather neutral state before trying to astral project. I thought some people seeked that state for its own benefit, such as deep peace, rejuvenation, etc. Unless you may have omitted certain aspect of it that you deemed irrelevant?

In response to Martin...
When i'm in delta I no longer have a since of my surroundings. It's like i'm in my own little world. My body feels different, kind of heavy but I believe it is because of the extreme relaxation. I also see allot of small dots, i've read about this and found that they are "neuron discharges" and are common in this state. Once i'm in Delta I just try to keep my mind clear by focusing on the inner buzzing that we all hear. Sometimes I focus on the third eye, when I do that it feels like pressure is building up on that area, kind of weird but I know that's when i'm getting deep.

But for the most part I just see darkness, sometimes I see random...well it's hard to explain. I really can't put it into words. I don't see random dreams or anything like that. My brain or head also feels different. It's as if my whole body is either very relaxed or numb. As Robert Monroe said "the key to astral projection is relaxation.

Also as a side note... I meditate laying on my bed before I goto sleep, i've read you shouldn't since most people will fall asleep. But if you train you self to stay conscious you wont fall asleep.
Oh and by the way, i've experimented with something similar to hemi-sync. I found a website that sells MP3's for all kinds of related things, I purchased one called epsilon meditation. It will get you to delta in about 10 minutes, the trick is to stay conscious and not fall asleep. It works great, but I prefer the natural meditation because after 20 minutes the sound track is over and stops, which kind of startles me haha.

You seem to have good control over yourself. I am keeping a diary of my astral projection training in my astral projection blog.

If you want to comment on my progress or just read along, it would be highly appreciated.

Could you elaborate a bit more on what you experience once you're in the delta state? And how do you figure out you have reached it? I mean, outside of using technical equipment. Oh and yeah, I hear you about the sudden rush of excitement/fear that comes when you feel you're about to detach and have an out of body experience.
