Pulling An Object Out Of A Dream Into Reality

Have you ever heard of someone being able to actually bring an object out of the dreaming world into the real world? I did it once when I was a kid, my parents will verify this, so I know it wasn't something I imagined. And I swear to you that this is a true story.

I was around 10 years old or so, I don't really remember, And in the dream I was in either an old stately home or mansion. I don't remember what I was doing there, but I seemed to be exploring it. As I was wandering throughout the house/mansion, I had a master skeleton key that worked on all the doors in the place. As skeleton keys go, this one was rather large and seemed to be quite prominent in the dream. Now here's the weird part...

When I woke up, the key was in my bed! I couldn't believe it! I pulled an object out of a dream! I took it upstairs and showed both my parents and explained the dream to them, they were quite astonished as well. Before this, the key did NOT exist in our house. So after a little bit, I went back to my room and put the key on my bedside table, and went outside to play with friends. I told my friends and got involved playing. And after awhile of playing I forgot about the key (typical child scatterbrains). When I came back inside my house and went to my room, the key was gone!

Through the years of growing and learning new things and keeping an open mind, I've thought about this occurrence now and then. And also having read about different things like mind powers and such, I've concluded that the key was real as long as I was thinking about it, but when I went outside to play and forgot about it for awhile, it vanished.

So have you ever heard of anything like this? I can't possibly be the only person in the world to ever experience this.

I've emailed George Noory (the radio show host of an AM show regarding phenomena) twice about this, but he never emailed me back. I don't know if he ever addressed it on his show, as I did not listen to his show religiously.

Any help or insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Paul.

Hi, I have a story about this. When I was 7 years old, I remember having this dream, I think I was holding a gift or something like that from someone who was in my dream. I can't remember what the object was, but I think it was metal and was long and thin, holding it kind of made my hand cold. I knew that I was waking up, and held onto the object harder while trying to stay in the dream. Newsflash, I woke up, looked at my hand, and saw the object. Once again, I don't remember what it was, but I was awake, holding this metal thing, my hand cold, and thinking that it is REALLY IMPORTANT. While looking at it, it starts to FADE right before my very eyes. I honestly forgot about this until now. Also, does anyone think that it's possible to PURPOSELY bring an object from dreams to reality? Or does it just happen on accident? Anyway, there's my story, sorry I can't remember more details on it.

I had a remarkably similar story, except I kept it to myself in fear of sounding completely inane. When I was around 9 I want to say (really young) I had a dream and at the time I had never seen a sideways nail clippers those long ones that have the edge on the side, my parents also did not smoke cigarettes. I remember waking up from a dream where if seen these weird nail clippers and was for some reason holding a cigarette. I literally had those nail clippers in my hand and I looked at them for a looong while while I laid there then looked over to see a cigarette on my bed. I put them away so I know they were real b but they vanished. I was raised in a strict Mexican household, had my parents found a cigarette in my things I'd known about it. Never saw the clippers again eitherb like No one was using them around the house or anything that would explain any of it...

I have been bringing things out of my dreams for the last 5 or 6 years. I don't mean to say that I bring things out of all my dreams. Quite the opposite.
I have only brought 7 things out of my dreams in the 5 or 6 years.
I am not sure I feel comfortable telling you about all my experiences, but here are 3 of the things I brought out of my dreams, and they are different types and forms of the things I have brought out.
I do not understand the process or how I do these things.
1.) I had a dream one night and in the dream I was being thrown into a pit. And two big guys were standing above me on the edge of the pit looking in at me.
in my dream they said to me at the bottom of the pit. You pissed off the boss and you know the penalty. You know we have to kill you and then they pull out guns and start shooting at me. I fell down and crawled to the furthest corner of the pit. Somehow they missed me and stopped shooting. Then they start throwing shovels full of dirt on me.
well I think I will just lay here and let them cover me for a minute or two then I will spring up and either catch the guys surprising them or surprising them and escaping.
well after a couple minutes I try to spring up but I waited too long and the dirt I am under is now too heavy in my dream.
I struggle as hard as I can but I can't escape. I feel the suffocation and I wake up right there.
I woke up as I was breathing in mouths full of dirt.
my girlfriend woke up to me gasping for breath and mysteriously covered in dirt and I had a mouth full of dirt. I rinsed my mouth out and no matter how much I swished water in my mouth I was still able to spit out more dirt.
2.) another occasion I dreamt that my friend was tied up in a metal chair in the middle of a room. I was way across the room and I could smell gasoline. I realize the whole floor of the room is in a puddle 2 or 3 inches deep.
I realize my friend is in danger and start running to him thinking I must save him. I will untie him.
I splash my way to him and start to untie him and realize the knots are going to take a few minutes to untie. Fearing for both our safety I see the chair is not bolted down so I tip it backwards and start to drag him across the floor to safety out of the puddle of gas. As I am dragging him I look down and see the metal legs on the chair are creating sparks as I drag it. Then I hear this WOOSH. A spark has ignited the puddle. Just as the flames appear I wake up and both my girlfriend and I smelled a strong scent of gasoline.
on further investigation we noticed that the gas smell was originating from me and my clothes I wore to bed.
3.) on the occasion of my next dream I was involved in a shoot out. I was shooting at the people who were shooting at me. I have no recollection of what started the shoot-out or who was shooting at me. After a lot of shooting I run out of bullets and I have no where to go to get away.
the people shooting at me realize after a few minutes of me not shooting back at them they figure out I am out of bullets. So now they are walking around looking for me and most of the guys now have knives. I am scared bad and in my panic I decide I better make my move as they will find me soon. So as a guy passes by me I sneak up from behind him and as I am trying to get the drop on him he turns and sees me. As he swings the knife at me a try to run. He stabbed me in the left bicep and pulls the knife out just to slash at my throat. I put my hand up in defense and that's where I woke up.
I woke up bleeding from a stab wound to the left bicep and a sliced up left wrist that needed 29 stitches.
I was and still am very afraid of the things I bring out of my dreams.

Hi Paulie, thank you for the link. The comments are truly interesting. I do think that you must have "dream walked" in your youth and was somehow able to connect physically while you astral projected.

At the same time, I sense the key was a physical manifestation of a deeper spiritual message for you. To put it as simply as I can: the key you seek is in your hand. You have found it and now have the power to unlock all the answers you seek. The key isn't lost because YOU are the key.

I feel what you need now is to accept the experience as a gift and be at peace with all your abilities. Sometimes, the "knowing" isn't as important as "accepting". There is a quiet joy in just "being". You are as special as your gifts. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.

If you ever need a friendly discussion now and again, my email is in my profile details. 😊

I mentioned earlier that I posted this story on a few sites in the past. I went to check them out, and two of the sites are gone. This is probably why some of you could only find it here. There was one other site left though, that had a couple interesting replies and theories as to what was going on with my dream. Perhaps some of you may benefit from it as well. Here is the direct link to my article. There are only two replies, but they are both long and full of interesting points.

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone for their comments and advice. I've seen that a few of you have had similar experiences, but they usually seem to be with objects that you already had before. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to downplay anyone's experiences. But the key I got out of my dream, had never existed in our house or lives before. And since that time, I've spent MANY hours on the internet trying to find a key that looked like it to buy for a reminder. After years of looking at literally thousands of skeleton keys, I never once saw a key that matched what I had brought out of that dream. I wound up buying a couple that were very similar, just so I had something to show people when I tell them this story.

One of the things I've always been able to do is sense if there are ghosts in a house. And I can tell you with absolute certainty that we never had any spirits in our house. So that option doesn't seem likely for what happened to me. I don't know if I tapped into a hidden power I had, or some other dimension as suggested. All I know is I was just a kid that had a dream and a cool thing happened. Some have suggested I may have still been sleeping, or imagining this. I can tell you (as I mentioned in the original post), that I did indeed show this key to both my parents the very morning this happened. I can go ask them right now (40 years later), and they'll still remember and attest to the fact that this did indeed happen.

I'm still no closer to really understanding what forces were at work here, how I did it, or what kind of psychic experience it would fall under. But from what I have learned over the years from the few comments I've received, it's an extremely rare occurrence. Therefore, perhaps it just defies explanation as of yet. A few of you, said that this was the only article you could find on this subject. When I first tried to find info on it, I found absolutely nothing! I posted this story on a couple of sites, and that's apparently what got the ball rolling (especially here). If nothing else, at least I feel like I contributed something, even if it didn't yield any real answers. Getting people together to discuss shared experiences is always good as well. I'm not giving up hope to eventually get a definitive answer, if one exists. But if this is all I get out of it, I'm okay with it.

Best regards to all,

Paul

Sorry, but I have no idea how I did what I did. I only did it the one time when I was very young. I am 50 now, and nothing like it has ever happened to me again. Therefore, I cannot help you locate your USB stick. I would suggest however... That if you do find it, you should make a copy of all the info on it as a backup.

I have no idea how it happened. All I know is, I had the key throughout the entire dream, so if figured prominently. And when I woke up, it was in the bed with me.

Not really related it was in December of 2014 don't really remember when but it was around the beginning I was dreaming and I heard teens singing the Christmas song the gift and I said I know that song or something and they said what. Yes the radio woke me up. I'm interested in lucid dreaming and astral projection but could talking in a dream be a lucid dream?

Hello, I have lost a usb stick with some very important documents, I've looked high and low for it, and it has disappeared for the second time. Each time that I have lost this usb stick I have completely become lost in thought and cannot recall where I've placed it and then it shows up randomly where I have no recollections of it being. If you could please help me relocate it. Thank you for your time.

Harrypotterules- No idea. Though in my case at least it seems to feel more like while I was dreaming I somehow managed to move an existing object from one location to another, rather than conjuring up a new item in a dream and then transferring it into the waking world.

One time I was spending the night at my friends house, and I had a dream that my hair caught on fire. When I woke up the next morning, my hair was randomly singed in places, and smelled burnt. Not exactly the same thing, but weird non the less. When I went back home, after I took a shower it was like it had never happened, the hair that had been broken off and burnt wasn't anymore and it was completely back to normal.

To Paulie151 and Skuldaegz: How did you get the object to come out of your dream? I would love to have a working magic wand like Harry Potter (and a nimbus 2000 would be cool too 😁 😆)

All I know of this type of incidence is that about a month ago I somehow managed to 'smuggle' a shooter-sized blue glass marble with white swirls from a dream and onto my nightstand.
Unlike your skeleton key it has not vanished and is, in fact, sitting next to my computer at this moment.
I decided to finally look a bit into this strange event and this forum is really the only thing of any substance I've yet come across other than a site referring in passing to certain shamans claiming the ability to pull small objects like stones and feathers from other realms.
Like dna's pipe pieces this marble is actually an object that had been previously in my possession and then lost. I always quite liked the color and feel of it and had at one point woven a small string net and had tied the net tightly around the marble and attached it to my keychain... Eventually the net frayed and for quite some time after the marble had fallen out into my pocket I had simply left it there.
My wife was about 5 months pregnant at the time I lost the marble (just over a month ago now) and I was at work when I rediscovered the marble loose in my pocket. I pulled it out and was throwing it in the air and catching it, admiring it, and eventually decided that it would be a perfect object to be included in a sun-catcher that I planned on creating for our unborn daughter. As such, I didn't want to lose the marble and so stopped messing with it and put it back into my pocket for safekeeping.
A few hours later I reached back to feel for it again and it was gone. I searched around the areas I had been in that time but the location where I had been working is rather large and it could have been anywhere... Plus I had to continue working so I chalked it up to an unfortunate loss and left it at that.
A few nights later I had a dream, the details of which are quite faint and jumbled in my memory, in which I ended up involved with an individual/character who, from what I can vaguely recall, was helping me to smuggle the marble from the dream and back into my waking possession. All I really remember is that this involved me having two identical marbles, one in each hand (I think) while I made the transition into the waking world.
Some force or entity managed to confiscate one marble from me as I awoke... But the other somehow remained with me and was sitting in a bowl I have made from a shell in which I keep small random objects on the nightstand right in front of my eyes as I awoke.
It was an extremely odd experience... There was absolutely no way I had the marble when I left work. I had no pockets other than those in my jeans and I had turned those pockets out just to be sure I truly had lost the marble. Nor had I ever removed the marble from the pocket of my jeans after the net had frayed except on that one occasion.
I have always liked that marble... I still do, but at the same time the whole experience of how it came back to me makes its presence somewhat eerie... But also very cool. I told my wife what had happened and she just said that apparently the marble is meant to be with me. And we pretty much left it at that. Tonight the strangeness of the situation got to me and seeing as this is about the only information I have found on the internet relating to my experience I thought I may as well post even though this thread is fairly old.

Just a bit more information... My dreams are regularly very vivid and 'real' (though often simultaneously rather disjointed). They often involve recurring characters and locations and I could actually sketch a rough map of the alternate 'world' the vast majority of my dreams seem to take place in. I also often have dreams in which I attempt to take objects (and in one cases an individual) from the dream world into the waking world... The marble incident is the only incident in which an attempt has been successful.

Another more recent experience I have had was about a year and half ago. I had a dream where I had pipe pieces which I had lost before, and in my dream I was sitting on my couch holding these pieces in my hand. Thinking to myself that I haven't seen these pieces in a long time. I got off the couch and walked to my room and placed them down on the table by the wall at least 5 feet away from the bed. After placing them on the table I went to bed in my dream. As I fell asleep in my dream I woke up in reality as I woke up I realized my dream I climbed over my girl friend at the time and reached on to the table and felt something that felt like the pieces I had just placed down. I woke my girl friend up and asked her to turn the lights on, I was shaking in shock when I seen the piece I was holding in my dream now in my hand. Right now as I'm typing this I am holding the same piece in my hand. So you are not alone as I believe your story!

This happened when I was in high school I was about 18 at the time. I had a sleeping problem where I would sleep around 18-20 hours of sleep. I used to have vivid dreams where I could not tell if there were real or fake. M y dream started off on a bridge and the water was raising very fast. There was this flag pole on top of the bridge and I started to climb up it the water was hundreds of meters high by the time I had climbed to the top. As I got to the top this hundred foot wave raised up and hit me. When I had woken up my entire bed was soaked all the way though to the floor. I have a pad lock on my door and window that could only be opened up from inside my room. I woke up coughing and thought I was going to drown. There was no one able to break in and dump a bunch of water on me without breaking the door down, but even though I still went around the house searching to see if someone had maybe pulled a prank on me but there was none around at the time. After I searched the house I flipped the mattress up to look under it and it was soaked right through as if it was submerged under water.

I had something kind of smiler to this happen to me a couple weeks ago. Though not as spectacular as the glass or key one I feel as if I had a smiler experience. (thus resulting in me freaking out and googling my way to this page). Anyways I was with a girl in this dream (She had black hair blue eyes I remember what she looks like perfectly) and long story short when I woke up I found a very long black hair in my mouth. Now no one in my house hold or who has came to my house in the last couple years has black hair that long so I find it very unlikely to belong to someone who has visited me recently.

I just find it all so very strange.

[at] Sarah, WOW! That's really interesting! You are the first and only other person I've encountered with a similar experience! Do you still have the piece of glass? Or did it mysteriously dissapear as my key did?

Sorry I have not replied sooner, this site apparently does not notify by email and I'm not on that much.

[at] sarahjmartin.Well I once had a same dream like that but instead of blood there was a big swelling on my forehead. I was sleeping peacefully and then I had a dream in which someone was chasing me really fast and I was running around some sort of warehouse and then I suddenly bumped into something and hit my head and fell. That really hurted. I felt my forehead was swollen. The same moment I woke up and checked out my forehead in the mirror, the swelling was still there.lol.Well I don't know what happened but there must be a meaning behind these dreams. Anyways before sleeping make sure your bed is all cleaned up and there is nothing unusual about it. Hope this helps you a little. Take care and bye. 😁

Hello, So... This is how I found this website. I had this happen to me recently and wanted to see if I was the only one. This is literaly the only match on google! Here's my story.

I was dreaming that I was in some type of factory or large old warehouse and I was searching for my 7 year old daughter for some reason. It had an elevator similar to a old hotel, I was riding up the elevator and was very frantic at this point in my dream and when I stepped off of it I fell and landed on my right knee. There was glass everywhere on the ground and I had a piece stuck in my knee cap. So I reached down to pull it out of my knee and when I grapped ahold of it and pulled I felt a warm rush of blood. That's when I woke up holding the piece of glass with blood pouring down my knee! It was so crazy! My boyfriend woke up confused, and I was confused because I was half asleep! He's asking me what the hell happened and all I can tell him is I fell in my dream and hurt my knee LOL So after I got cleaned up I saved the piece of glass and went back to bed. I have thought well maybe the glass was in the bed and I rubbed up against it, heck I don't know! Nothing has been broken in my room and how would one piece of random glass get in the bed? The glass didn't look like any I had in my home and how did it get stuck in my knee if it was in my bed, and how did my dream match up to what was going on in real life! Super confused! LOL Would love some feed back!

Hmm this is very interesting... I've done many things when it comes to the line of dream and reality (or having someone else cross that line), in fact most of my abilities are used within my dreams or other people's dreams, but I've never brought an object from a dream into reality, but I have brought an object from reality into a dream once. Sounds like a rare case of what I call realistic object manifestation.

Being an awakened Oneiromancer (Somnambulist) I would know these things. It's possible that key was the symbolic unlocking of your own abilities. Well have a great day.

Hello Paulie, I don't usually like to reply to stories that our maybe 3 months old at the latest. Unless someone is still requesting advice. I have to admit this is new to me. I've never heard of bringing a item from another dimension before. (Which sounds very rare)

But what wasn't mentioned is the other possibles. Hallucinations can be a probability, even though I would hate to bring psychology into any experience (Of being a member of psychology.) It could be possible since a child's imagination can be very vivid and strange, but I can be wrong.

I would have to suggest what the rest have already said. You sound like a very gifted and nice person to be able to be granted the honor to bring something back. As for being around for a very long time, I feel the same also. Bad thing is that I'm not very sure on my past life (s).

I hope we brought you closer to an answer.

Still looking for answers, so here is a little more info about me from a reply I posted on this subject to another site...

Yes, I too believe that all things are possible. And the more I look into this, the more I'm starting to think that I'm the only one it happened to. As far as deeper meaning goes, if I wasn't so young when it happened, I'd wonder about that. If it happened in adulthood, I'd definitely think it had some meaning attached to it, such as a direction in life. But for a young boy, who only cared about toys and such...

I did however seem to be more in tune with my "powers" when I was younger however. I predicted a plane crash that took place the next day about 2 specific jet planes in California, and I knew when other things would happen occasionally. And I had some of those predictions come to me in parts of dreams. Also, I could take away someone's headache and sometimes I could cause things to happen to people by "wishing" for it, just as a couple examples. I could cite specific examples, but I just want to give you an idea here. But as I reached my 20's, everything like that seemed to gradually stop. Except for my Empathy, I've always been very strong in that sense.

There is one thing about me that could maybe explain some of this, or at least contribute towards it. And that is that I'm a very, very old soul. I've talked to quite a few people face to face who are involved in the paranormal and the occult if you will, and all of them have always told me that I've had many lives. And I truly do believe that, as I have a lot of talents and such that have come natural to me. And even though I'm only 44, I've always felt that I've been around for a long, long time.

Paulie,

In your dream do you remember if someone gave you the keys? Or, were they on a table or something like that. I say this because some spirits are able to manifest items in our world. Or, maybe in your dream you channeled yourself into the caretaker of the mansion and took the keys back with you for a little bit. But, I am leaning more on a caretaker spirit bringing the key over because I know that they will do this on very rare occasions. Your experience was unique but I believe that it did happen. And, no you did not disrupt the karmic universe because of it. Hope this helps.

Very intresting experience and I hate to be the one to say/ask something like this... But I have to...

Are you 100% sure the dream was over when you 'found' the key and showed it to your parents? (I think the answer will be yes as you stated that they will support you with this experience...)

I know it's kind of an odd question but this is something very rare indeed... But not absolutly impossible... Kind of like the car keys going missing from the 'key basket' in the living room and as you search for them you hear them drop onto the kitchen floor... And your the only one home.

I'll do some research and see what I can come up with...

Respectfully,

Rook
