My name is Cassandra.

I'm looking for second opinions. There has been odd things that have happened around me for the past four years. Right now I'm only concerned about a few of them. So, around a year and a half ago I was in my friend's room (a furnished attic) nursing my son and waiting for her to come up stairs. It was dark other than a light from over the staircase, and there were many toys around for she has a little boy too so a lot of things could have been mistaken for things that go bump in the night. Anyway, I look over in the corner and there's a girl (mid 20s?) sitting with her knees to her chest, her head turned towards me smiling. It was menacing. I turn and look back and it's a white square hamper. I blow it off, I figured it was my imagination. A few hours later my friend and I are on the computer, I spot some Easter headbands of her son's, put them on the two of us and snap a picture. Behind us is a girl standing very tall in a white dress, dark hair. I can't see her face. I stare at the pic, without pressing save or delete, telling my friend to look. (at this point we are still in her room and I hadn't told her about the girl in the corner) She's busy attending to her farm in farmville and the picture deletes itself cause I had let it set too long without choosing an option. So of course she didn't believe me. Since then, I've had a few dreams with her in them, and feel like I'm being watched. I've had experiences with ghost before but they were associated with certain places and other people experienced things with the same ones. I don't know, this felt different. I was living at a friend's for a while within the last year and I watched the bedroom door rattle on and off forcefully for a half hour. No one was awake and my friend said it would only rattle a little bit if someone was walking upstairs. Then a couple months ago my son was eating lunch, sort of. He didn't want to eat. Next thing I know he puts his plate in front of me and climbs into my lap, two minutes later, he's asleep. Which is cute lol so I have to take a picture. In the background there's a figure. It instantly reminds me of her. If anyone would be willing to tell me what they think the shape in the back could be please leave your e-mail address below! So my question is, what could this possibly be? Is it following me? Also, does anyone know why street lights would go off around someone? It started maybe four months ago and has been happening weekly since. My glove compartment also popped open after I had discussed the above things to a friend and a light went off. I would really like to talk to someone who knows about these kinds of things because I have other smaller questions and less scary experiences I would like to get answers for, if anyone would care to lend an ear.

Sorry I haven't replied until now. Wow, this is a lot of information! So if I'm understanding correctly, you both believe I have a spirit attachment?

PathR, I hope you don't back out of the conversation. Everything you've said has been nothing but helpful to me. 😊

Jav, it would make sense that she was mentally challenged but I'm just not sure. There's really something off about the feeling she gives me.

What questions do you normally ask your patients?

Jav-I know what you're saying with the place vs. Person hauntings, but there has been some things that have happened since the first time I saw her. I didn't put everything in the story because I was rushed and eager to see what I could possibly be experiencing. 😕
I don't mind sharing the details at all if it helps.

I had to really think on this one. I pay attention to behaviors, action, reaction, and how a person holds themselves. Especially when they are trying to get your attention. This girl, from the things you have described in your experience, may fall into a special category. I have a feeling she may be mentally challenged. She is definetly lost, but she most likely does not realize she has passed. You, being a mother, exude an aura that she is familiar with. That is why she follows along, poses for your photos, and couldn't get that door to open. She doesn't know where she is so she has a problem with her new reality that isn't as easily overcome as it is with those who are not mentally challenged. Her smile wasn't meant to be menacing, that's just how it may look to anyone who is unaware of her condition. Sitting on the floor among the baby's toys was another familiarity for her, but it was the photo of you and your son that got me thinking. She didn't know you were taking it like she had for the other, and she didn't have a chance to pose in it with you. But by accident, she was captured in the reflection behind you.
She needs to cross over. I am hoping PathR can help with this.

I only meant that I recognize that you are very knowledgrable and experienced. It was just that I have somewhat of a different take on this situation. And so we are both here to help. That is what matters most. Please don't back away from this situation or I may miss learning something new here. That's the way I like to work it anyway, healthy discussion. Whether we agree in principle is of no consequence, it's the outcome that this poster takes away that is most important.
I am 56 years old. So we are of the same generation, I like that.

Things like this do not just happen.

You are refering to the person in the reflected/glass area behind you, correct?
Because that stands out loud and clear!
The only thing that needs to be done here is an honest attempt at debunking. You always want to start there, saves time and embarrassment later on.
I'm going to email now, if you don't mind. Much easier and quicker to discuss things.
I would hold off on any decisions for now. An attachment can be anything from a spirit, to a poltergeist, to a demonic presence that follows you around from place to place. As opposed to spirits that 'haunt' one place only, attachments haunt a person Known to make life a living Hell for those it attaches to. And in my opinion, this doesn't come close to rising to that description.
I'm sorry PathR, I don't mean to step on toes here.
I believe it may simply be a matter of translation. I have found that occurs quite often when attempting to categorize a field as vast as the paranormal.

So you got the picture? What causes a spirit to attach to someone? Did you receive my e-mail? What symptoms would someone have with an attached spirit? Sorry about the twenty questions ha ha, this is all new to me.

Now many times with healing, or even interacting with
People if they have a spirit around, they can become attrached to us. I have had this happen during healing. At one particular healing I had a man whom
Had been grieving and actually had a deceased family member, which tried to attach to my body, had it attached I would of been able to see it.
What I did during the healing was ground the energy and send it into the light with love and light.
The patient had symptoms before the healing and later
Told me he felt better and much of his pain had left him. We'll this was associated with his attachment.
The longer a person has an attachment the sever the symptoms.

I have one person I know whom does counciling and another whom is a tarot reader. But have admitted
Running into spirit attachment.

I never heard anything from you.
So I could not get any more verification, only
Via distantly.

Now when I'm asking my guides I'm not getting that this woman is a guide for you.
But she is still giving me all the signs when I check for a discarnate soul.

I'm sorry she does not feel to me as if she is affliated with the home, as a haunting.

I have a better idea. I think you should submit this to the ghost stories site. You would have the benefit of the community over there giving it a good study. We sort of pride ourselves for sharing ideas and theories. Just getting my take on it alone wouldn't be fair to you. Many times it takes several different opinions, and all of them should be yours to study. Why not? You might like us over there. 😊

I haven't ever owned a watch that I can recall, it's interesting that they have that reaction to you. I read your link, what a crazy experience that must have been! So you also have experience with ghost. Could I e-mail you a picture? I would really like opinions on a figure in the background.

Most definetly! After all, it is called Street Light Interference. Lol
I also got a little freaked out about the lights just turning off instead of on. For some reason I thought that it meant bad things would happen to me. Turning "off" seemed like it had to be negative. And "on" just had to be positive.
Sheesh! Listen to us! I do have a friend who affects light bulbs. She can't handle the light switches in her own house because the bulbs will burn out. Think how freaky that would be.
I have little things happen now and then with the TV remote, but that is probably just coincidence. Have you started having any problems with watches at all? I know the batteries wear out faster on me.
I have to run for now, but I'll be by tomorrow, and we can see to your other concerns as well, if you like.

Thanks that definitely helps with the street light thing! I freaked me out when it first started happening. (I was afraid it was a sign that I would die in a car accident ha ha) That link you gave me is very interesting, now as far as I know, street lights are the only thing I affect. Am I still considered a SLIder?

I may be able to help you with the street light phenomenon. This has been happening to me for years. At first I would find all kinds of reasons to blow it off as coincidence, even when it became more frequent. At that time I would excuse it and thought that the only reason it was occurring more often was because I just wasn't paying as much attention to it before then. (Which could still be part of it)
However, I was surfing the web one night looking for information on some outdoor lighting and in the middle of a list of links on Google I see something about Street Light Interference (SLI) and I click on it. What do you know? They have a name for it and there are other people out there just like me.
We are called 'SLIders'. We have no control over it. Some have theorized that it is brought on by emotions, but I had it happening every night, rain or shine, happy, sad, or indifferent. Anyway, you can Google "Street Light Interference (SLI) or follow this link. Keep going though, there is always something new about it.
Most of all, it is nothing to worry about, we're harmless, for the most part. For me? When I found out there was a name for it I was happy. Then when I found there was nothing wrong about me because the lights only go off for me, never on, I was even more grateful. And come to find out, most of us worried over that before we discovered there was information out there.

With the subject you are speaking of its a mixed bag.
Normally with hauntings there is cold and hot spots.
Make us feel nauseated, heart goes off, difficulty breathing,
Mists.
The list can be pretty long.

As for the lights!
Reasons our own energy is off balance and affects electrical.
