A Possible Connection With Cats, Or Paranoia?

For about 5 years I've been studying Wicca and practicing for 3. My grandmother used to practice as well, and she's taught me a few things. I have a great love for studying, and for the past few months I've been trying to get an exact explanation on what this means. To my knowledge, cats are very in tune with the spiritual side and they have naturally grounding energies, and that they are attracted to and may appear to those with high, positive vibrations.

For quite a few months now, stray cats have caught my eye and it seems that almost every time I have caught theirs. However, they won't let me pet them. I'll try to edge closer slowly and cautiously with an arm held out. They will walk away a few feet, then sit and gaze at me contently. I'll stand there for a moment and hold eye contact before I try again, the cycle repeating over a few times. One time, I remember very specifically. It was late at night and I was walking with my two friends. The same thing had happened with a black cat, but it would follow me down the sidewalk, stopping every once in a while to watch me. I walked into the middle of the street, and as did the furry fellow. I had glanced in front of me for a second, losing eye contact. When I had looked back, the cat was gone. There was no sign of the creature, despite us being in an open, un-shaded area. With each meeting, these cats watch me but will never let me close, then disappear.

Does this have some kind of spiritual meaning to it? Are they trying to relay a message? And if it's the latter, how may I decode it? Or am I just being paranoid and imagining things?

Blessed be.

These would just be normal cats.

Unlike dogs, cats don't bond to humans right away. Cats will bond if and when they want to.

If a cat is something else, you will know right away, even if you don't want to know.
