Are Powers Genetic?

Are powers genetic? Because even though my mom won't talk about it I know that she and my aunt can see ghost, my grandmother can do a lot of things as well.

The only time that I can think of something being strange in my life, (other than the things I will describe later) is when I was 7-8 and I had this best friend named clementine. I remember every detail about her, and one day recently I asked my mom about her and she said that she never existed.

My family originated from the Philippines and I know that that might have something to do with the fact that my family can do things.

I have never been put in a position where I would have been able to see if I had powers, but before something bad happens I always have a dream of someone I love getting murdered and i'm strangely drawn to fire. I don't know why, but ever since I was really little I've loved fire, it's like the way it waves and everything sucks me into it.

I also know someone's name before they tell me. I may be overreacting, or just plain crazy, but I think it's something. I've tried reading up

On things like this, but it hasn't gotten me anywhere.

I also can feel other people's emotions radiating off of them like a wave.

I've tried talking to people about this, but they all think i'm crazy and quite frankly I don't want to end up in an asylum. I've read up about chaos magick and spirits and everything and honestly that's not my cup of tea. I want to know what's going on.

And when I look into the mirror for a long amount of time I have a strange out of body experience, like i'm looking at myself from a different persons point of view.

Any thoughts?

Your not crazy I have had this too... Especially the
Mirrors I used to stare into as a kid and lights I could see the rays coming off of them... Your an empath if your feeling others emotions... I am too just starting to learn to keep them in control...

I'm not sure if they're inherited or not, I just know that my sister and I share abilities as well as separate abilities (she repressed hers though because she didn't have guidance so she ended up making the wrong choice with it and became too afraid to continue with it. I, one the other hand, practice when I don't think about practicing. Like when I was practicing Aerokinesis (an ability we share), I don't think about it I just do it but only on days when there's a slight breeze (I have yet to make my own breeze). Cryokinesis is easier and more fun, it was something I did at work too (bringing the room temperature down a few degrees) nobody else seemed to notice but I did especially when I stepped out of the room. My goal with my abilities is to be strong enough to protect those I love if need be.

Rather than "genetic" I would say that it is spiritual, you end up being born in a family that has the same "gits" so it will be easier (and earlier) for you to train them.

But they are your own, not something inherited from others.

Hi, I think 'powers' are inherited. I have seen this pattern in my family.

My father doesn't even believes in ghosts but his father (my grandfather) believed in everything and was a great psychic.

Me and my brother can see ghosts, my mother and me get bad dreams before something life threatening happens, I can 'feel' energies and I also get precognitive dreams.

I once guessed a movie character's name right, in which a man kept asking his wife about her daughter's name.

Her name appeared in my mind at that instant and it was correct, other than that I haven't been able to predict names but I do get thoughts that play out in reality in an instant or a few days.

I would like to assure you that you aren't going insane.
